Each autumn when the temperature drops, but otherwise combination skin always seems to get a shock and goes a little dry. But this year, I’ve got the newly launched Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hydrating Toner Mist to help out..
One of those most recent discoveries, is Peter Thomas Roth, and I’ve simply been amazed at the quality and efficacy of the products. I’ve recently talked about the Rose Stem Cell Range which you can read more about here, and the Glycolic Range, which you can read more about here.
Having combination skin, prone to breakouts, it is not usually intensely hydrating products I am seeking out, but with my skin going drier with the cooler weather, plus a planned trip to Europe next month (and we all know what long haul flights to to the skin!!), needless to say that I was excited when the Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hydrating Toner Mist* landed on my desk.
The Toner Mist is designed to drench the skin with hydration, also helping to visibly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and clarify pores to leave a more youthful-looking complexion.
It contains among others Hyaluronic Acid to help attract and retain moisture in the skin to make it look more supple, while Pentavitin® helps provide up to 72 hours of hydration, even after cleansing the skin. It also contains Witch Hazel, a natural astringent, that helps tone skin and mimimise the look of pores, along with Silk Proteins, Elderberry and a complex of Sodium PCA, Amino Acids, Vitamin B5 and Glycerin to smooth, moisturise and soothe skin’s appearance, and generally help defy the look of ageing.
The toner is best used after cleansing, by misting the face with 1 to 2 pumps, or it can be used throughout the day to add extra hydration when needed.
I love the fact that this mist oil-free, so while it adds intense moisture, it doesn’t clog up my pores, and that it has added Witch Hazel to help reduce the inflammation of any breakouts that I have. And while I do not have sensitive skin, it is also great that it is both alcohol and fragrance free so it doesn’t irritate the skin.
The Water Drench Hydrating Toner Mist immediately makes my skin feel refreshed and hydrated and soft, and so relaxed and comfortable too, yet without any greasiness or stickiness. I have not used the spray for long enough to notice any significant changes in my lines and wrinkles, but I do love how it is clearly adding so much intense moisture and makes my skin feeling silky soft and smooth. I have also been using it to freshen up my makeup throughout the day, and when I’ve been for a walk as the cool winds always makes my skin feeling tight and flushed, and just a few sprays of this mist instantly soothes it again.
The toner comes in a spray bottle, which I really like as it not only makes it easy to apply, also when you’re on the go - but it also makes it more economical as opposed to applying to a cotton pad and wiping across the face. And there is no denying that the trusted light blue bottle is very pretty too.
Again, Peter Thomas Roth has managed to impress me. While, which my combination skin, I don’t tend to reach for extra hydration during summer, my skin is absolutely loving this hydrating toner mist right now, and while I believe that the bottle is (sadly) too big for me to take it on the plane on my upcoming flight to Europe, I’ll be sure to pop it into my luggage so that I can re-hydrate my skin again after the flights.
