I tried the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint in Almond, which is a slightly dusty pink-beige shade, which is quite stunning. As the name suggest, it offers a high shine, though I do not particularly find that it is any glossier than most other nail polishes - perhaps also because I've been using it with the Gelly Hi Shine Plumpy Top Coat on top. The nail polish is easy to apply streakfree, and it takes two coats for a good solid colour. The clear Plumpy Top Coat not only helps extend the wear of the manicure, it really also does make the polish both glossier and gives the nails a gel-effect too. With the polish, I manage to get approx. 4 days wear from the polish, which personally I find is quite reasonable, also considering I do tend to wash and use my hands a lot.
I also tried the Barry M Matte Lip Paint in the shade Baby Pink. Firstly, with this name, I'd expect the lipstick to be matte, but in actual fact, it has a touch of sheen. I personally don't mind as the sheen is gorgeous, but it may just be a little misleading. Secondly, I do prefer bolder lips, so the pale Baby Pink shade is a lot paler than what I'd normally wear. That said, even considering its very pale shade, it does have a good colour payoff, and feels soft, moisturising and very comfortable on the lips, with a wear of a few hours. I do like how it wears, so I definitely plan on checking out other colours in the range.
Overall, I have really enjoyed putting these products to the test, as I feel they offer great value for the low budget price. I can definitely see myself checkhing out the rest of the Barry M product range.
