HAPPY NEW YEAR - FEATURING PARTY FAVOURITES
Happy New Year everyone. Thanks to everyone for all the support throughout 2016, I really appreciate how you've all stuck by me in a time where I had other things on my mind. 2016 has been a tough year for our little family, and one that has been dominated with hospital visits for our little boy, and stressing about how he would recover. While our boy is a tough little cooking, and is doing really well, the battle isn't over yet, and the next year will also be dominated by speaking to lots of doctors, I am so looking forward to the start a new year and what can only be better and happier year for our little family.
With two little toddlers, there are no huge New Year's party in sight for me, but regardless, here are a couple of my ultimate party essentials, some of which are also some of my fave products from 2016…
This Cool Clutch is simply so beautiful that it has to be the clutch of choice for the last and first party of the year. It is hand sown with hundreds of pearls and diamantes, and is sure to dress up any outfit and be the statement of the party. It also has an insulated so your makeup won't melt in the heat of the night.
On my eyes, I just can't get enough of the Lancome Grandiose Mascara. Applying it takes a little getting used to, but once you've mastered the different comb angles, it gives the best fluttering lashes, as close to fakes as you can possibly come.
On my lips, I just cannot get enough of the Sisley Paris Phyto Lip Gloss in the shade Rouge as it simply has the most beautiful intense red shade with a nice glossy look and it stay put for hours. Perfect for a night out.
And of course, what's a party without a bit of glow, and for that, I have to reach for the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick, which just gives the most yet natural glow.
Then on to a spritz of perfume, and just cannot go past one of this years great releases, the CK ONE GOLD from Calvin Klein. It has the most beautiful fresh fruity scent that makes it great for a hot summer night, and just cannot get enough of that beautiful golden bottle.
Finally, cannot neglect the nails, so a couple of coats of the Attitude Attitude, a beautiful red shade from Essie, and all is set.
The drink of choice would have to be the Prosecco Ice, as it has such a refreshing fruity taste. It is a very fragrant Spumante that is great with ice and a slice or lime or a couple of mint leaves, or go the classic way and add a strawberry of two.

PRODUCT REVIEW: SISLEY PARIS PHYTO EYE TWIST AND PHYTO LIP TWIST NEW PRODUCT ADDITIONS
If you regularly tune into my blog, or check my instagram or facebook feed, you'd know that I am head over heals in love with the Phyto Eye and Lip Twists, so I was naturally extremely excited of the news that additional colours had been added to the ranges.
The Phyto Eye Twists sees the addition of 4 new shades;
I am a little conservative so not so good with the green or purple shades, however, the Pearl and the Copper shades are as made for me, in fact, I had already when I wrote about these last mentioned that I'd love to see a lighter shade, not knowing that these were already in the pipeline, so yay yay yay! Anyway, the Pearl shade is a beautiful light shade that is perfect to use on its own, or as I like it, in combination with any of the other colours in the range, to lighten them, or simply add a touch of highlight, in ie the inner corner of the eye, or maybe as highlighter under the brows! The Copper shade is a beautiful mid-brown shade with a lovely golden sheen.
These Phyto Lip Twists are classified as tinted lip balms and consequently just give the lips a nice wash of colour with a beautiful glossy sheen at the same time, thanks to containing micro-shimmer that gives just the right amount of sheen without being too shimmery! And of course you can easily add another layer or two, builds up the colour making it stronger and more intense. And all without any stickiness.The Lip Twists are very creamy and so easy to apply thanks to the pointed tip which is perfect for outlining the lips and colouring in the lips at the same time.
They feel very lovely and comfortable on the lips thanks to being enriched with phytosqualene which is derived from Olive oil that maintains the skin’s softness and elasticity for visibly moisturised and protected lips, and as well as Commiphora Resin Extract that smoothes the lips and contours thanks to its firming effect.
They haven't got the longest of wear on the lips, but considering that they not long wearing lipsticks, but tinted lip balms, the 3 or so hours you do get, I do find quite reasonable. And they wear off evenly, and even when the colour is gone, you are left with soft and moisturised lips, almost as if you’ve just worn a lip balm!
Of the four new shades, I've tried Poppy, Love and Nut. Nut is a dusty rose/mauve shade that is perfect as an everyday barely-there lip colour as once applied it is very close to the natural lip colour. Poppy and Love are both brighter and bolder shades, Poppy being a beautiful pinky-red shade and Love a stunning fuchsia pink. Of the three I am particularly loving Poppy and Love, for the sole reason that they are brighter, yet going on sheer, they are still extremely wearable, and as I've only recently started wearing stronger and bolder colours, these are just perfect for me to wear as everyday colours too!
As always, both the Phyto Eye Twists and the Phyto Lip Twists are not just beautiful to wear, they are also super stylish in their stunning black and white zebra print, with blue writing on the Phyto Eyes and red on the Phyto Lips. I am not usually a fan of animal prints, but these are super modern and stylish and almost a shame to stash away in the handbag or drawer!
Well done Sisley Paris on these new additions to an already fantastic line of colours - you've just given me even more reason to love the Phyto Eye and Lip Twists! If you haven't already checked out these ranges, definitely worth it next time you're passing the Sisley Paris counter!

As I've previously mentioned, these Phyto Eye Twists, are so buttery soft and super pigmented that a single swipe over the eyes is all it takes for a solid colour. Hereafter you simply smudge it out with your finger and you're ready to go. And absolutely no need for taking them with you as no touch ups are required during the day, as they stay put all day, without fading or budging, and thats without a primer on my greasy eyelids! They truly as waterproof and long lasting as Sisley claims! Probably not hard to see why these are my go-tos on those mornings when I've got to get going in a hurry and also get two small kids running around my feet ready to go too!
The addition of these new four shades means there are now a total of 12 different Phyto Eye Twists.
Next up are the new additions to the Phyto Lip Twists, which also includes 4 new shades;
- Love – a bold and stunning fuchsia pink with a hint of raspberry
- Litchi – a frosted nude with delicate hints of pink
- Nut – a sassy and sophisticated hazelnut
- Poppy – a vibrant and passionate poppy red

PRODUCT REVIEW: SISLEY PARIS BOLD SEDUCTION AUTUMN WINTER COLLECTION
If you're regular reader of my blog, you'll know that I've got a fairly new love affair with Sisley Paris as their products are not only incredibly astethecially beautiful to look at, they are also such a dream to apply and wear, so I was so excited when the new Bold Seduction Autumn Winter Collection landed at my door step..
The Bold Seduction Collection draws inspiration from the catwalks and is feminine, strong and graphic with a touch of bold glamour.
The collection includes the Sisley Paris Phyto Sourcils in Cappucino, which is right on trend in helping define and provide definition to brows and frame the face. Years of over-plucking has left my brows thinner and more sparse than I like these days, so a good brow product is essential, and this eyebrow pencil is a perfect choice. The soft pencil has just the right consistency to help softly and gently fill in the brows making the appear thicker and more even, while the handy spoolie comb at the other end helps comb them into the perfect shape.
Like all other Sisley Paris makeup products it has been enriched with skin-caring ingredients including acacia and carnauba waxes to help soften, envelope and protect the brows, as well as keep them in place, along with pro-vitamin B5 to strengthen the brow hairs. And once applied, they do in fact stay put all day, including the colour, which doesn't budge or smudge. The cappuchino shade is medium in colour and a perfect and natural shade for my brows. I also love that it comes with its own little sharpener as needless to say that a pointy pencil is necessary for a perfectly styled look.
The So Intense Mascara is enriched with vitamin-rich peptides and rice phytoceramides that promises to lengthen and thicken your natural eyelashes and make them stronger too within just two week. I've used the mascara for a few weeks, and have to admit that it is extremely difficult to say if using the mascara really has given me longer and thicker lashes, but that said, I also don't wear mascara every single day, so maybe I need to, to be able to tell a difference!
However, what I do like is that mascara separates my lashes nicely and gives them lashes nice thickness and volume after just a single coat, and following with a few more coats it gives my lashes an even more intense and dramatic look, all while keeping my lashes clump-free and still supple and soft.
And in spite of my sensitive eyes easily watering, it also stays put all day without flaking or smudging, yet it removes easily at night with waterproof eye makeup remover (that is all I ever use as I simply find it easier. This mascara is not cheap, but it is such a lovely mascara, whether you're after a simple look for casual wear or a more intense look for going out.
Next are the Phyto-Eye Twists, and if you have read my previous posts about Sisley Paris, you'd know that I am so in love with these eyeshadow pens, and I already have a couple of the brownish shades which are my go-to eyeshadow when I'm in a hurry, which, with a baby and a toddler, is pretty much every day! Anyway, now Sisley has added a further couple of shades to the range, including Khaki, a beautiful dusty green shade as well as Steel, a deep gunmetal grey. And while I am known to be very conservative with the shades I use on my eyes, these two new additions are just beautiful, but used individually on their own, but also in combination. The jumbo style pen can be used as both an eyeshadow and an eye liner, and it is so quick and easy to apply - and what I really like is that
Eye Twists they are so pigmented that a single swipe, followed with a blend with the fingertip, is more than sufficient for an intense colour that stays put all day long without budging, fading or settling into the lines on my greasy eyelids.
The eyeshadows have been enriched with green tea, camellia and white lily to help protect the delicate eye area
The lip gloss is a treatment formula that has been enriched with Padina pavonica extract to promote a natural plumping effect of the lips. It also contains shea butter, kokum butter, sunflower oil, colza oil and vitamin E to help nourish, soothe, repair and protect the lips as well as protect from free radicals. And does feel very lovely and moisturising on the lips and even when it has worn off, you as well as it does leave the lips feeling soft and moisturised too. I really love not only the beautiful shade of this lip gloss, but also the formula, so I can see myself reaching for this on a lot during winter to put some much needed colour to my winter-pale face!
Finally, the Hydrating Long Lasting Lipstick in Mandarin is another full-coverage lip product, offering intense colour pay-off in just a single swipe, while with this one, you can however also apply just a little and wear it with a more subtle stained effect. The shade Mandarin is bright orange in the packaging, and I do have to admit that I was thinking ' oh no, a beautiful lipstick that I will never ever wear because I am too much of a chicken to wear a bright orange shade' - so I was very pleased to discover that the shade in fact goes on in more of a coral shade with a beautiful but subtle sheen, so it is very wearable, even for me!!
The lipstick is also a long-wearing lipstick, and again, even when it starts to fade after several hours, it does so evenly, leaving behind a beautiful stained look. It contains among others calendula, vitamin E and C to help soften and protect the lips as well as add anti-oxidants to protect from damaging free radicals. And it too, feels very comfortable on the lips, almost as if you just wearing a lip balm. And, like all other Sisley Paris products the packaging is just out of this world - this one coming in a gold packaging with the unique 'S' cut-outs, as well as the black velvet pouch!

The Phyto-Ombre Glow is really a single eye shadow that can be used either on its own, or combined with any of the other beautiful shades in the range. This new shade, Gold, is a beautiful, well, errr, gold shade, that is so stunning when used on the lids, both on its own, or with other shades. However, it is also perfect to use as a highlighter under the eye brows and on the inner corner of the eyes to really open them up. But it doesn't stop there, as it can actually also be used as a general face highlighter on the top of the cheek bones etc for a radiant healthy glow, but as a word of warning, you'll need to go easy as it is seriously pigmented! 
The Phyto-Lip Gloss is like a lipstick but with a lacquer formula. The shade Rouge is a rich warm red shade and the slightly thick formula is very pigmented, so goes one with a intense full covering colour payoff in just a single swipe, and due to this pigmentation is also has a very long wear on the lips of several hours, and even after it has faded, it leaves an even stained finish on the lips. The intense colour does however mean that unlike other lipglosses I find at mirror is necessary when applying this, otherwise it could quickly become a little messy. It also has a beautiful shiny effect that does make the lips look fuller. PRODUCT REVIEW: SISLEY PARIS PHYTO-POUDRE LIBRE LOOSE FACE POWDER
Today on the blog I'd like to introduce you to a new-found love, the Phyto-Poudre Libre Loose Face Powder from Sisley Paris. With combination skin, I always have the issue that especially my t-zone area is shiny by lunch time, so I not only rely on a good primer, but also a good powder. Often powders can make makeup look caked on, especially after touching up during the day, but that's not the case with this Phyto-Poudre Libre.
As with all makeup products from Sisley Paris, it is enriched with active ingredients to help make the skin feel comfortable whist wearing it. PRODUCT REVIEW: SISLEY PARIS SPRING / SUMMER COLLECTION 2015
A few months back while I was still at the hospital Sisley Paris launched their new spring / summer 2015 collection, and I had big intentions of writing about these new products. But the sheer stress of such a sick baby meant that although I really tried whenever I had a few spare minutes as it was a great way of distracting myself, I just count concentrate. So hence the delay, so with further ado, the Sisley Paris Spring / Summer Collection...
This Sisley makeup collection has been inspired by the bright colours of an Indian Summer - and as it is now in fact autumn here, and I've sadly missed basically spring all together being 'locked' up at the hospital, here's hoping that summer will in fact kick on a little longer this year and we will get a so called Indian Summer.
The collection contains among others the Phyto-Touche Illuminator, Phyto-Ombre Eclat, Phyto-Mascara Ultra Stretch, So intense Fortifying Eyeliner, and Phyto-Lip Shine in Sheer Peach..
The Sisley Phyto-Touche Illuminator is a sun glow gel-powder that both illuminates and unifies the complexion while giving it a nice glow as if you've just come back from a relaxing beach holiday. The powder is so finely milled and the pigments of such a high quality that a small sweep is all it takes for a natural looking sun-kissed glow. And the shade is just perfect on my medium beige skin. And what's more is that it feels so beautiful on the skin, or that is, you can hardly tell its there. Perfect for sweeping over cheekbones as well as décolleté and shoulders. It contains among others extracts of gardenia and wood mallow to soften and protect the skin while linden blossom protects the skin. It comes in the most stunning silver compact with a mirror inside the lid and it has the most gorgeous design. This may be designed for summer, but personally I'll be using it throughout winter too to hang on to a touch of summer glow!
The Sisley Phyto-Ombre Eclat is a mono eyeshadow that is available in a massive 20 different shades and finishes. The eye shadows have been enriched with extracts of green tea, white lily, and camelia to protect and soften the delicate epidermis of the eyelids, and of course they are so gentle that they can be used even by those with sensitive skin or wearers of contact lenses.
The shade Mango is a warm luminous peach shade that adds warmth to the skin, and it looks amazing on its own for a quick simple look, but is equally beautiful when layered with other colours, either toned down for a day-time look or with darker shades for a more intense evening look. The shadows can be used both dry or wet, where you will achieve a more intense result when using it wet. Personally I usually use it dry and on its own - but that for the simple reason that I've got two little boys that keeps me busy, and secondly, these boys usually means that nights are spent on the couch, so its all about simple and casual day-time wear for me. The eye shadow is so soft and easy to apply and as I do have sensitive eyes I love that there is next to no fall out that can irritate my eyes. And a quick sweep is enough to give my lids the desired touch of colour that stays put all day without fading, sliding or settling into fine lines or creases. I love this and will definitely have to add a few more shades to make it a collection!
This Sisley Phyto-Mascara Stretch is designed to longer curled lashes, without wearing them down, or making them look clumpy. In fact, the large brush easily cover even the shortest of lashes and quickly separates them for an even look. And it does so all while strengthening and protecting the lashes thanks to containing ingredients such as rice phytoceramides, which strengthens the lash structure and makes the lashes more resistant, pro-vitamin B5 to leave the lashes smooth and subtle, as well as natural waxes, castor plant and wheat proteins to lengthen, separate, restore suppleness and smooth the lashes. And while the mascara doesn't claim to be waterproof, it stays put all day, without flaking, running or smudging, even on my sensitive eyes that easily water throughout the day. Unlike other mascaras which usually clump the lashes together as you end up over-applying, almost until the mascara is empty, I love that this Phyto-Mascara is perfect from the very first use, leaving my lashes clearly longer and with a touch of a curl (although a lash curler is still needed for full curl) which is more than sufficient for my daily need - and without my lashes feel stiff or dry, rather they've got a beautiful black glossy sheen. At $75 this is not a cheap mascara, but I do enjoy using it on my sensitive eyes, and love the fact that it cares for and treats my lashes at the same time.
The Sisley Phyto-Lip Shine is no ordinary lipstick. Rather it is a treatment lipstick that contains among others kokum and mango butters to help hydrate, protect and provide comfort for the lips while sheer polymers create a smoothing and plumping effect for the lips. And the lipstick really to feel incredible on the lips. It is so soft and creamy that it feels more like a lip balm than a lipstick. The shade Sheer Peach is as the name suggest a pale peach shade that adds the most delicate shimmery pale peach shade to your lips. The shade is a little paler than I would usually pick, but that said, is such a beautiful shade that is perfect for those 'no makeup' days to use in stead of said lipbalm, or when you simply want to play down your lips. Being such a pale shade, the actual tint doesn't seem to last as long as the darker shades from the range (there are massive 16 colours available), but even when it has worn off, the lips feel so soft and moisturised. As with other Sisley products I love that this is not just an ordinary lipstick, but a little more thought and care has been put into it so that it actually also cares and treats your lips while you wear it. A must try product!
I always wear liquid eyeliner and has for as long as I can remember, and have over the years come across quite a few amazing eyeliners. But this Sisley So Intense Eyeliner has instantly jumped to the top of the list! The felt tip makes it incredibly easy to draw a line, be it thin or thick, and with an intense black matte finish that dries within seconds. And it stays put all day without fading, smudging or flaking. I also love that the eye liner has been enriched with wild rose, gardenia and cornflower extracts, which combine will help protect your lashes while soothing the skin and ensure eyelids do not dry out. But what's more, is that it also contains arginine which provides nutrients to the lashes to help them grow optimally. This is without a doubt the most expensive eyeliner that I've ever tried or used, and frankly I doubted that it could be worth the extra spend - but I have to say that it really is so incredibly easy to reply, and I love the fact that it not only wears and looks great, it combines skincare benefits too, which makes it worth every cent!

PRODUCT REVIEW: SISLEY PARIS PHYTO EYE TWISTS
Today I like to share with you some eyeshadows which have been my go-to's lately, especially on those mornings where I have a very early start taking our little baby for check-ups at the hospital..
The Sisley Paris Phyto-Eye Twist is a crayon-style pen that can be used as bot eyeshadow and eyeliner, although personally I always 'just' use it as eyeshadow and use my regular eyeliner as well.
It has a rounded tip that makes it easy to quickly glide over the lid, and as it is quite pigmented, just one swipe is more than sufficient for me, as I generally prefer just a simply look, although you can of course swipe a few more times if you want to build up the colour even further.
The stick is beautiful and creamy, so you can apply it without dragging or pulling, and I like that after applying it, I do have a few moments where I can quickly blend it with my finger for the desired look. And there is never any need to sharpen it, as you simply twist it to reveal more product when needed. And let me not forget to mention the funky black and white zebra printed pen!
Liken all other makeup products from Sisley, I love that thought has been put into the products and they are enriched with plant based active ingredients, including green tea, white lily and camellia which helps protect the delicate and sensitive skin on the eyelids.
With combination skin and subsequent greasy eyelids, getting eyeshadow to stay put is usually a battle, but I have to say that Sisley has got it spot on, as even without using a primer first, the Phyto Eye Twists simply stays put all day long, no fading, sliding or settling into all those fine lines that are sadly creeping it. They really are waterproof as claimed, yet they are so easy to remove at night with either eye makeup remover, or micellar water.

PRODUCT REVIEW: SISLEY PARIS EAU TROPICALE EAU DE TOILETTE AND PERFUMED BODY LOTION
Not long ago Sisley Paris launched the Eau Tropicale Eau Toilette, and now to complement a matching Perfumed Body Lotion has also been introduced.
The fragrance is a fresh and floral scent with top notes of zesty Bergamot, lemon and Ginger, while floral touches in the middle notes from Tuberose, Violet and Rose have been added too. Finally, woody scents in the base notes include Patchouli, Ambrette seeds and cedar.
In spite of the woody notes, it is a very light fragrance, and the fresh zesty and floral scent makes it perfect for a summer scent.
As it is light, it consequently is not very strong, which I find is the norm with light fragrances, but yet, it does manage to last throughout even the hottest of days.
However, when using it together with the matching Perfumed Body Lotion, it will not only intensify the scent, it will also make it last even longer. And all while the light Body Lotion cares for the skin thanks to hibiscus extract , joih extract and glycerine instantly moisturises the skin, while phytosqualane comforts the skin. It also contains extract from frangipani to soothe the skin, Pro-Vitamin B5 to soften it, Vitamin E acetate to combat free radicals and Butcher’s Broom extract to tone.
And the cream is seriously divine. It absorbs instantly, and leaves the skin feeling silky soft and velvety smooth, and with that gorgeous scent lingering.
This is the first fragranced products from Sisley Paris that I’ve ever tried, but I’m really impressed and find that I’m reaching for them a lot, so it certainly won’t be the last ones, and there are several others from the brand that I’m pretty keen on checking out!

PRODUCT REVIEW: SISLEY PARIS PHYTO LIP TWIST TINTED BALM
as a stay-at-home mum, I rarely wear the full on makeup as I used to when I was working in the corporate world. Catching up with mother’s group or taking my boy shopping or to the playground, to me, rarely calls more than casual makeup, which is also why I’ve lately been favouring lipglosses over lipsticks as they are simply quicker to apply. So when I was asked to trial some of the new 2015 colours from the Sisley Paris Phyto Lip Twist Tinted Balm Range, I happily accepted. Here are my thoughts;

Chestnut – a warm mauve hazel nut shade that is so wearable and perfect for everyday wear
I love using lipglosses, but have to admit that I too, like the rest of the world have taken to makeup in crayon form, whether it is eyeshadows, blush or for my lips, as it is simply so quickly and easy to apply. And these Phyto Lip Twists are no exception.
The pointed tip is perfect for outlining the lips and colouring in the lips at the same time.
And just one layer gives the lips a nice wash of colour with a beautiful glossy sheen at the same time, thanks to containing micro-shimmer that gives just the right amount of gloss without being too shimmery! And of course you can easily add another layer or two, builds up the colour making it stronger and more intense. And all without any stickiness.
And the Lip Twists soft and creamy and easy to apply, and they are so beautiful to wear too, feeling soft and comfortable on the lips, as they moisture and soothe the lips at the same time as they’ve been enriched with phytosqualene which is derived from Olive oil that maintains the skin’s softness and elasticity for visibly moisturised and protected lips, and as well as Commiphora Resin Extract that smoothes the lips and contours thanks to its firming effect.
And how can you not love the design of the Lip Twists, as they come with a stunning black and white Zebra print, they simply look fresh and modern. And what’s even better I tat you never need to sharpen the pens, as you can simply twist it up to reveal more lip balm as you need it.
The Lip Twists have a wear of a few hours, less if you eat or drink, but personally I find that reasonable, and I really love that they wear off evenly, and even when the colour is gone, you are left with soft and moisturised lips, almost as if you’ve just worn a lip balm!
All in all I really like these Lip Twists as they are so easy to apply in just one stroke, and the slimline formula is the perfect size for carrying in your handbag too, although it’s almost a shame not to have it out on display! Highly recommended.

HOSPITAL BAG - SKINCARE & HAIRCARE
So now, as I write this, baby is due in just 8 days. Yesterday I posted about the makeup I’ll be bring to hospital, and today it is all about the skincare and haircare products that I’ll be bringing with me to the hospital. I actually started packing the a few weeks ago, slowly pulling things out as I remembered, but now time has come to get serious, to make sure everything is ready to go!
Apart from the clothing necessities such as comfy clothes, PJs, dressing gown, slippers, underwear and maternity bras, breast pads, maternity pads... these are the haircare and skincare essentials that will be going with me..
EVO Beauty Is Skin Deep Women’s Essential Kit
I’ve always loved the brand EVO for its quirky texts on its bottles, which can only bring a smile to your face. The Body Crème for instance reads, ‘if you can’t spend a week bathing in pools of dead-skin-eating fish while being served dinner by trained psychologists, then this hand and body lotion is for you!
This gorgeous travel pack makes packing a whole lot easier, as the pack contains small convenient bottles of many of the essential hair and skincare products you need – and let’s face it, my hospital stay will just be for a few days, so it is absolutely pointless dragging along full sized bottles. The kit contains cute 50ml bottles of Self Indulgence Body Crème, Soap Dodger Body Wash, Mane Prescription Hair Protein Treatment, Ritual Salvation Hair Care Conditioner and Ritual Salvation Hair Care Shampoo. The shampoo, conditioner and hair treatment are all designed for colour-treated hair, weak and brittle hair, so perfect for my hair that will need all the care it can get after giving birth. As you may now, I absolutely love the haircare products from bhave, and the products have done wonders for my hair. One of the products I especially love is the Riot Control Oil, and I’m lucky to have a small travel sized bottle floating around. Just a pump or two or this oil instantly helps tame down any frizz, while giving the hair a healthy and natural shine. RRP: $48.95 (Full Size/100ml)
Lady Jayne Tangleze
While I know that I won’t feel like spending too much time styling m hair, of course I’ll also need to pack a hairbrush, and this compact Tangleze from Lady Jayne is the perfect choice, as it is simply so small and compact that it doesn’t take up much room. And it is so effective in detangling knotted tresses in both wet and dry hair, while being super gentle. And in addition, it has the most gorgeous black and white zebra design that makes it look stunning at the same time. RRP: $12.99
Batiste Dry Shampoo in Neon Lights Pomegranate & JasmineWith my long hair I never wash my hair every day, so I doubt this will be happening while I’m in hospital either, - and that’s when I rely on a good dry shampoo to refresh my tresses. And then I just cannot go past this new (and sadly limited edition) Neon Lights Dry Shampoo from Batiste with Pomegranate and Jasmine, as it simply leaves my hair smelling so good while leaving it clean and revitalised. Aveeno Skin Relief Moisturising Lotion
One thing that I know I will need a little more off is body lotion, as again, my skin gets so horribly dry when in hospital, and moisturising lotion from Aveeno is perfect, as it has also helped me through the later stages of my pregnancy where my skin has become a little itchy. The thick cream has almost no scent and instantly provides instant moisture and relief to dry and irritated skin. RRP: $8.95
Uriage Eau Thermale D’UriageThis thermal water spray from Uriage is made from 100% natural thermal water, and just a fine spray across the face helps to moisture, and soothe the skin for hours, which I know it will be very quickly thanks to the constant airconditioning in the hospital. And it also instantly helps refresh the skin if it has become dry and irritated. RRP: 8.95
L’Occitane En Provence Shea Hand Cream in Zesty Lime
My hands always get horribly dry during winter, but this hand cream from L’Occitane has a high content of shea butter so it is extremely moisturising on the hands, yet absorbing quickly into the skin without any greasiness. Plus it leaves the most refreshing and zesty scent of lime lingering behind, which I just cannot resist! RRP: $13.00
Jurlique Hydra Gloss in Neutral
This gloss also acts as an extremely hydrating lip balm containing ingredients to soften, condition and smooth the lips, all while giving the lips a nice sheer glossy finish. RRP: $22.00
Simple Micellar Cleansing Water
This newly launched Micellar Cleansing Water from Simple is very gentle on the skin, and with just a few swipes over the face and eyes, it easily removes makeup (although struggling with waterproof mascara, without leaving a greasy residue behind. The Micellar Water is light and has a fresh scent, and doesn’t dry out my skin, and best of all, it is very gentle, so it doesn’t sting in my vey sensitive eyes! RRP: $9.99
Olay Wet Cleansing Towlettes
As I think I’ve mentioned many times before, I am not a huge user of facial wipes as I prefer to wash my face with a gel cleanser and splash water in my face afterwards, so I often just use them for when I’m in on long-haul flights, or swatching makeup products for the blog. But in saying that, I always have a pack handy, and will also be bringing these Wet Towlettes from Olay with me, as in case I am too drained and tired to wash my face, at least a wet towel is better than nothing. And I love the fact that these ones are alcohol and fragrance free so won’t dry out my skin. RRP: $6.95
SKII Facial Treatment Essence
I’ve been using the SKII Facial Treatment Essence for the past few weeks as a kind of toner, after cleansing my skin, but before my serum. The Essence contains the wonder ingredient, pitera, which SKII claims helps boost the collagen production and encourage new cell turnover. And within just a few short weeks, of using this odd-smelling Essence, my skin is not only more deeply moisturised and hence looking more plumb with fine lines and wrinkles reduced, but my skin also seems to have a more healthy glow. MyChelle Dermaceuticals G2 Instant Firming Serum
This serum from MyChelle is pack full of super anti-oxidants, phyto-nutrients and peptides that promises to instantly help improve the firmness of the skin and minimise the depth of wrinkles instantly, while refining skin texture too. And I’m impressed to say that you really do both see and feel that this serum has an effect on the skin, instantly making my skin looking more refreshed and plum, so it helps make you look more rested too when you wake up in the morning, even after a bad night’s sleep, and you can see the lifting results too when you use it under your foundation, so it’s just as perfect for daytime wear too. RRP: $62.50
SkinInc Pure Nano Hydrating Gel
I’ve only been using this gel moisturiser for a very short time, but I am already in love. The light gel is a true multi-tasker helping to hydrate, repair, tone, protect and prime, and not to mention brighten the skin all at the same time. It is super moisturising and nourishing on the skin, yet perfect for my combination skin as it is so light and non-greasy and leaves my skin feeling velvety soft and matte. And as it is suitable for use both morning and evening, I only need to bring this one moisturiser with me. RRP: $163.00
Antipodes Kiwi Seed Eye Cream
One thing that I can never be without is a good eye cream, and this Kiwi Seed Eye Cream from Antipodes will provide my (more than likely) very tired looking eyes with some much needed cooling and soothing care, while adding moisture and softening fine lines. And I love the fact that the cream has been shown to scientifically shown to stimulate collagen production by up to 82%, so hopefully it can help keep fine lines and wrinkles at bay for a little longer! $44.99
Vanessa Megan Birth Ease Natural Labour Spray
I was given this when I first announced my pregnancy, and since then it has been sitting in waiting to be put to the test. It is specifically designed for the hours of labour, to help assist with tensions, promote contractions and help build confidence during labour – and as the birth of our first boy was long, drawn out and a painful one too, I’m willing to give anything a try to make it faster and more comfortable too! Fingers crossed! RRP: $29.95
Weleda Nipple Care Cream
Oh dear how I vividly remember how sore and cracked my poor nipples were when I started breastfeeding our little boy when he was born almost two years ago. I had to send hubby to the nearest chemist pronto to get me something that would give me some much needed relief. This time I’ll come prepared with the Weleda Nipple Care cream that is designed to both prepare for breastfeeding, as well as soothe and care for cracked nipples. RRP: $27.95
So there you go, these are the skin and haircare products that I'll be taking with me, again, no doubt a lot more than I will actually need, but these are some of my current favourites, and in the end of the day, so much easier to simply bring it along than have hubby try to find what you want at home!!

PRODUCT REVIEW: SISLEY PARIS PHYTO LIP SHINE
Sisley Paris is one of those beauty brands I’ve been aware of for as long as I can remember. Yet, for some reason I have never actually tried any of their products. Not really sure why, just for some reason haven’t! So when I was asked to trial the Sisley Paris Phyto Lip Shines*, I excitedly agreed. Here are my thoughts;

What They Say:
A treatment lipstick with more colour than a gloss and more shine than a lipstick. Creamy, invisible, and very comfortable, the texture of Phyto-Lip Shine is both light and nourishing, with its treatment formula that provides brilliant shine and total softness. Kokum and mango butters leave lips hydrated, protected, and comfortable, brilliant, sheer filmogenic polymers create a smoothing, coating, and plumping effect. They ensure a brilliant and luminous finish, while sucrose esters ensure softness, comfort, and shine.

What I Say:
I got to try the shades Sheer Papaya and Sheer Berry, and have to admit that I at first was a little intimidated by the tangerine/orange shade, as I am not normally one to wear such bright bold shades, and especially not orange. But I hadn’t need to worry, as the name suggests, it does go on sheer, and in more or a coral tangerine shade.

The lipstick glides on easily, but is not as creamy as I would have thought considering it is also called a treatment lipstick. However, regardless it is very lovely on the lips and you wouldn’t even know it is there.
And although it is sheer, it actually gives off more colour than I would have otherwise thought, and especially the Sheer Berry Shade, which has a lovely sheer red shade. Again it looks very dark in the but it goes on as a lovely stain, so it is very wearable, even for everyday casual use. And common for both shades, is that you can build up the colour a touch by adding an additional coat, so it definitely holds true that it adds more colour than your typical lipgloss. As for the shine, it adds a lovely sheen, but I wouldn’t go as far as calling it glossy, but it is also not claiming to be. Personally I really the satiny shine it gives, as sometimes I feel that a gloss can be a bit too much, so this is a more subtle shine, more grownup if you like.
The Paris Phyto Lip Shine claims to have a plumping effect, but I have to admit that I struggle to see that, but maybe it is just because I need to wear it, and reapply more frequently.
The Phyto Lip Shine has a wear of a couple of hours for the Sheer Papaya Shade, and as the Sheer Berry shade seems to have a little more pigmentation, it also lasts a little longer on the lips, approx. 3-4 hours, also surviving drinks of water and a snack, leaving behind a touch of a stain on the lips.
But even when it has worn completely off, my lips feels so soft and smooth, so the included mango butter clearly works its magic on the lips.
At $50 each the Phyto Lip Shines are at the higher end of lipsticks, but they are also not only feels like luxury on the lips, they also scream luxury with the Sisley ‘S’ on the silver packaging and the red velvet pouch that they come in.

It is simply the perfect lipstick when you are after a sheer finish with just a touch of a shine, and if you can afford the splurge, you won’t be disappointed. I certainly wouldn’t mind getting hold of a few more colours, especially of the darker shades.

What I Say:
I got to try the shades Sheer Papaya and Sheer Berry, and have to admit that I at first was a little intimidated by the tangerine/orange shade, as I am not normally one to wear such bright bold shades, and especially not orange. But I hadn’t need to worry, as the name suggests, it does go on sheer, and in more or a coral tangerine shade.

The lipstick glides on easily, but is not as creamy as I would have thought considering it is also called a treatment lipstick. However, regardless it is very lovely on the lips and you wouldn’t even know it is there.
And although it is sheer, it actually gives off more colour than I would have otherwise thought, and especially the Sheer Berry Shade, which has a lovely sheer red shade. Again it looks very dark in the but it goes on as a lovely stain, so it is very wearable, even for everyday casual use. And common for both shades, is that you can build up the colour a touch by adding an additional coat, so it definitely holds true that it adds more colour than your typical lipgloss. As for the shine, it adds a lovely sheen, but I wouldn’t go as far as calling it glossy, but it is also not claiming to be. Personally I really the satiny shine it gives, as sometimes I feel that a gloss can be a bit too much, so this is a more subtle shine, more grownup if you like.

The Paris Phyto Lip Shine claims to have a plumping effect, but I have to admit that I struggle to see that, but maybe it is just because I need to wear it, and reapply more frequently.

The Phyto Lip Shine has a wear of a couple of hours for the Sheer Papaya Shade, and as the Sheer Berry shade seems to have a little more pigmentation, it also lasts a little longer on the lips, approx. 3-4 hours, also surviving drinks of water and a snack, leaving behind a touch of a stain on the lips.
But even when it has worn completely off, my lips feels so soft and smooth, so the included mango butter clearly works its magic on the lips.

At $50 each the Phyto Lip Shines are at the higher end of lipsticks, but they are also not only feels like luxury on the lips, they also scream luxury with the Sisley ‘S’ on the silver packaging and the red velvet pouch that they come in.
