PRODUCT REVIEW: MODERE COLOUR
A little while ago I was invited to an event for the launch of Modere Colour - But unfortunately I couldn’t' make it as it was being held in Sydney. In stead the brand kindly sent me a selection of their products.
Perhaps you've never heard of Modere before - frankly, I hadn’t either although the brand has been around for a few decades selling products within skincare and household products.
In line with the brands philosophy, the aim with the newly launched Modere Colour makeup line is to sell "honest, bold, safer and botanically inspired makeup designed to go hand in hand with the existing skincare range – all created to enhance your natural beauty from the inside out. Colour that’s clean and safe, with BPA free packaging, natural mineral pigments and certified organic botanicals and without potentially harmful ingredients, animal products or animal testing." I also love the fact that the products are Australian made and owned. But let’s get on to talking about the products.
The Modere Colour Primer contains among others organic aloe to soothe redness and hydrate tired or dehydrated skin. It also contains natural mica Natural mica, a light reflecting mineral to give the skin a luminescent look, which hazel to help tighten the pores and leave the skin fresh (and so perfect for my combination skin with large pores!), as well as Grapefruit seed extract acts as a natural antioxidant.
The primer has a slightly odd scent, but it is incredibly light, almost watery, and absorbs into the skin immediately, and it leaves the skin feeling silky soft and smooth. Following I find that foundation is so much easier to apply, as it seems to glide onto my skin, as well as make my skin look more flawless that without and not to mention, makes my makeup stay put for longer. It comes in stylish square pump bottle that makes it easy to use.
The Modere Colour Mineral Liquid Foundation contains certified organic ingredients such as jojoba seed oil to add hydration, avocado oil to conditions the skin and provide a luxe application and rose flower extract softens the skin. The foundation has the same slightly odd scent, and it has a creamy consistency and a medium coverage that dries to a soft matte finish. It is easy to apply with either your fingers, a blending sponge or a foundation brush, but I find that you do have to blend fast before it dries. I love the matte finish on my combination skin and that it has a good wear, used with the primer, staying put all day without looking greasy or settling into fine lines. It also comes in the same style stylish square pump bottle that makes it easy to use. And by the way, I love that the bottles are clear, so I can easily see how much product is left in the bottles.

The Mineral Pressed Powder has a matte finish and can be used either as a finishing powder on top of a foundation for a matte finish and to extend wear, or as a foundation on its own. It is best applied with a kabuki brush, and you can apply just a light coverage or build it up to a medium coverage, covering redness, blemishes and some pigmentation, yet it still looks natural. I have enjoyed using it both on top of the Mineral Liquid Foundation, or on its own on more casual days where I've wanted a less made up look. It comes in a stylish black round compact with a large internal mirror.
The Modere Colour Bronzer is made using Ethyl macadamiate from natural macadamia oil to create a light, non-greasy texture and feel on the skin, Lauroyl lysine from coconut fatty acids to create texture and a silky finish, as well as the natural mineral mica to add glow and reduce the appearance of pores and wrinkles. The Bronzer has texture that is easy to apply, and thanks to the tiny shimmer particles that give the skin a lovely radiant and healthy glow, looking very natural and not orange or fake like other bronzers. It also comes in a black round compact with a large internal mirror.
The Modere Colour Blush is also made using Ethyl macadamiate from natural macadamia oil to create a light, non-greasy texture and feel on the skin, Lauroyl lysine from coconut fatty acids to create texture and a silky finish, as well as the natural mineral mica to add glow with a touch of subtle sheen. The blushes are easy to apply and blend, and they are quite pigmented so it only takes a little to get those naturally fresh flushed cheeks. I tried the shades Poppy, a brighter pink, and Posie, a pale dusty pink - both of which are lovely shades, although I particularly love the Poppy to add some much needed colour to my tired pale face. The blushes come in little round black compacts, with a 'window' in the lid so you can easily see the shade.
The Modere Colour Eye Shadow, which like the blushes and the bronzer is made from Ethyl macadamiate from natural macadamia oil to create a light, non-greasy texture and feel on the skin, Lauroyl lysine from coconut fatty acids to create texture and a silky finish, as well as the natural mineral mica to add subtle sheen. The eye shadows are so soft and very pigmented too, so it is easy to build them up to an intense look, which you can intensify further by applying them with a damp brush. There are 12 gorgeous shades in the range, and I tried the shades Bella, a peachy nude shade, Cognac, a dark chocolate shade, and Frenchy, a medium blue shade. Sadly I am very conservative, and tend to wear nothing but nudes and browns on my eyes, so however lovely the shade is, the blue is not quite for me, but the Bella and Cognac shades are so stunning, both together and individually. I also love how they stay put all day without settling or fading. The eye shadows also come in little round black compacts, with a 'window' in the lid so you can easily see the shade.
The Modere Colour Mascara is a mineral mascara made with arnauba wax to thicken and lengthen the lashes, along with certified organic jojoba seed oil to nourish and keep lashes soft, as well as castor seed oil for a clump-free formula and perfect lash separation. The mascara has a medium sized brush and the small tip makes it easy to reach even the small lashes in the corners. One coat gives the lashes length and volume, while a few more coats, while with a few more coats you can build this up more. I like how it easily separates the lashes and doesn’t clump them together, also regardless of how many coats you add. The mascara comes in a thin long black packaging.
The Modere Colour Lipsticks are vegan and made using shea butter to keep the lips moist and protected from the harsh elements, carnauba wax to give them a creamy texture, and candelilla wax brings a smooth, creamy finish. The lipsticks are very soft and creamy and they apply easily and smoothly, and feels very comfortable on the lips thanks to the moisturising formula. They have next to no scent, and are quite pigmented, so just one swipe gives you a decent colour pay-off, and with a lovely sheen. For a moisturising lip, they have a decent wear of a 3-4 hours, though a little more for the darker shades. There are 12 colours in the range, and I tried the shades, Barely, a pale barely there nude shade, Molly, a brighter cerise pink shade and Relish, a classic bold red shade, which is also my favourite of the three. The lipsticks come in a black metal tube, and I really like that the bottom part is clear, so that you can easily see the shade of the lipstick without opening it.
The Modere Colour Lip Glosses are made from cetyl alcohol to help soften and condition the skin, hydrogenated polyisobutene to moisturise and prevent water loss from the lips, and certified organic orange peel oil for a fresh, sweet, natural fragrance, so unlike the other products, these lipglosses actually smell really lovely. The lip glosses come in a long clear tube with a pointy foot doe applicator and are easy to apply, and thanks to their moisturising properties, they also feel very lovely on the lips. There are 4 shades in the range, and are either sheer or bold and hence vary a lot. I tried two, Marmalade, which in the tube looks peachy-orange, but on the lips it goes on clear with a golden shimmer, so it is good to use either on its own, or on top of a lipstick for more dimension and high sheen. I also tried the shade Watermelon, my favourite of the two. It applies as a full and bolder and brighter coral-red shade and is hence best used on its own. Of the two, it also has the longest wear, also leaving behind a nice stain on the lips once it has worn off.
All the products come in gorgeous bright coloured boxes. I have enjoyed putting these to the test, and will continue to use the products going forward, and while I cannot say that there as a product I didn’t like, there naturally were a couple of standout products. I particularly enjoyed the primer as it is so light and seems so good on my combination skin, but I also really enjoy the bronzer as it both applies so natural and gives such a lovely glow, without looking orange. The blush in the Poppy shade is such a lovely shade, and I also have to mention the eye shadows as they are so pigmented and has such a good wear. For the lips, I did enjoy both the bolder lipsticks and Glosses, and would love to see the Gloss range extended with more solid bold shades.
So all in all a selection of beautiful makeup products from Modere Colour, in beautiful shades and of high quality and free from all the chemical nasties, so I definitely recommend that you check them out!

PRODUCT REVIEW: JANE IREDALE STARTER KIT FROM RY
Continuing with the Xmas gift ideas, today I've got an absolute winner from Jane Iredale, which is available from the online store RY - The Starter Kit, which contain a selection of the perfect products to get you hooked to Jane Iredale. I am already hooked on Jane Iredale, so if you've missed my reviews, you can find them via my product directory.
Anyway, this Jane Iredale Starter Kit really is the perfect way of getting to know the brand, and it would be the perfect Xmas gift idea too.
If you're not familiar with Jane Iredale, the brand makes mineral makeup, which are multi-functional and which have skincare benefits all while they look good.
The kit comes in a couple of different skin tones, including light and medium (which I've tested), and it contains:
The Smooth Affair is a primer and skin brightener, which has anti-ageing properties that increase luminosity, even skin tone, and minimise the appearance of pores. It contains a whole host of natural ingredients including apple and grapefruit extract to maintain the skin's elasticity and promote luminosity and radiance, aloe leaf juice to soothe and calm the skin, green and white tea leaf Extracts, Royal Jelly and algae extract, for their anti-ageing and anti-inflammatory benefits, olive Leaf Extract to promote epidermal cell renewal, and honeysuckle extract to help purify the skin.
The Smooth Affair is used after your usual moisturiser, and it just takes a tiny amount to cover your whole face, so even this tiny tube will last you a while. It has a beautiful scent and absorbs quickly into the skin, and afterwards makeup seems to glide onto the skin even easier. I also find that it takes less foundation to make my skin look even, which in itself results in a more natural and nicer look too. On my combination skin, my makeup also lasts longer without the need for touch ups. I love how this primer makes my skin feel and look, and I love that it is not only more natural but also cares for the skin while I wear it, so I will definitely be purchasing a full sized when I run out.
Then I follow with the Amazing Base SPF20. I actually already own a full sized one of these, which I'm using in the refillable Jane Iredale brush, and I'm loving it, and have already got a backup - and I generally use it as a finishing powder for a little extra coverage where needed, and actually usually have the refillable brush with me when I'm out as its perfect for touch ups to ! This is a powder foundation made from micronised minerals, and it is a bit of a multi-tasker as it can be used both wet and dry as a concealer, foundation, powder and sunscreen all in one, and because it contains algae extract, it also helps reduce inflammation, soothe sensitive skin, and rebuild the skin's lipid film barrier. The powder goes on fine, but can easily be build up, and cover blemishes, redness and pigmentation, and it gives a nice radiant healthy look.
Alternatively there's the PurePressed Base SPF20, which offers a more sheer, as well as a semi-matte look, so in some ways this pressed powder is fantastic for combination or oilier skin types. Like Amazing Base, it is also made from micronized minerals and contains algae extract, as well as pine bark and pomegranate extract, which soothes sensitive skin and helps prevent moisture loss. The power is extremely light, almost weightless on the skin, and again, it can be built up for more coverage. But personally I prefer to use it as a finishing powder as it gives such a nice velvety matte finish.
To finish off, there's the Pommisst, - and again I already got a full sized bottle of these which I am also so in love with. This fruity scented spray is a hydration spay that has added pomegranate extract, which gives the skin a dose of anti-ageing botanicals and antioxidants to protect the skin from UV rays. This spay helps set you foundation and give it a dewy look, and can of course also be used throughout the day to freshen up the skin or add a boost of moisture.
The kit also comes with a Mini Powder Brush which is made from hand-tied goat hair, and is so incredibly soft. It is perfect for applying both the amazing base and of course also the Pure Pressed base as well.
And everything comes packaged in a gorgeous silver cosmetic case with a large mirror.

PRODUCT REVIEW: COLOUR THEORY NORDIG LIGHT MAKEUP COLLECTION
Born and raised in Denmark, but having now lived in Australia for a decade and a half, I naturally do miss my home country - except for the very cold winter - although a calm winter's day where everything is covered in a layer of white fluffy show does have its charm! Drawing inspiration from these calm nights Colour Theory has launched its Nordic Light Winter collection, which includes a mix of neutral and soft tones.
The collection includes among others;
The Multi-Coloured Corrector is a pressed powder that is designed to prime and set your makeup, as well as yo can use it to blot your face during the day to combat and control any shine. The powder is off-white in shade and features a spectrum of different colours including green to neutralise any redness, orange to brighten brown spots and even skin tone, purple to diffuse under tones as well as pink to dull spots. In short, a very clever all-in-one. And the powder does work very well to rid your face of the afternoon shine, and in my case also help disguise the increasing pigmentation and make my skin appear at least a little more even. Already using a myriad of skincare and makeup products, it is always nice with a true multi-tasker.
The Eyeshadow in Ice Ice Baby is a compact containing 5 different dusty shades including a pale peach, pale dusty rose, pale dusty mid-beige, pale blue, as well as in the centre, a pale dusty mid brown shade.
I admit to rarely using pastel shades, neither on my lips or eyes, but I do say that the combination between one of the pastel shades and the brown shade is beautiful. The shadows all have a light shimmery sheen, but it is very subtle. The shades are not extremely pigmented, but you can make them more bold by applying them with a wet brush, and hence build them up a little, but overall it is a good palette for a subtle everyday use.
The Plump Mascara has a very large brush that makes it very easy to coat every single last to give it more volume and length, all without clumping or making the lashes feel stiff. It does claim to give thick dramatic lashes, and while I don't quite agree with the 'dramatic' part, it certainly does give the lashes noticeable length and volume. I also love the fact that it is free from preservatives, fragrances and parabens, so it is perfect for my very sensitive eyes.
The Jumbo Lip Crayons are as the name suggests lipsticks in crayon format, which I really love as they are so quick and easy to apply, no lip liner needed, as well as no need to ever sharpen as they simply twist up when more is needed. The crayons are quite pigmented and feel soft and smooth on the lips, lasting a few hours, before you need to reapply. The shade Rosewood is a dusty rose shade that is very wearable for everyday use, while Red-Y-Or Not is a nice warm red Shade, both two colours that I really love and know I'll be reaching for in the coming months.
The Creamy Lipsticks are, as the name suggests, a quite creamy lipstick that feels very soft and almost lipbalm-like on the lips as it feels so moisturising too. It does mean that the wear is not quite as good and it wears off in just a few hours, but then, I do prefer having to reapply, than a longwearing lipstick that dries out the lips, although the darker the shade, the longer the wear. The shade Bittersweet is a warm nude shade, that again is perfect for a everyday casual look. The shade Siren is a gorgeous bright, cool-toned red shade. Both are two lovely shades, but if none of these are for you, don't fret as there are a huge 22 different shades in the range.
Finally, onto the Nail Polishes... These small bottles of nail polish are quick and easy to apply streak-free and they dry quickly too. And considering the bargain price, they still have a reasonable wear of a few days. The shade Cashmere Kisses is a dusty pastel pink shade, and one of my all-time favourite shades to wear on my finger nails. Snow Bunny is a pale pastel lavender shade, while Minted is a pale pastel mint-green shade. Finally, Apres Ski, is an aubergine purple shade, and probably the one shade that mostly screams autumn. I love the idea of wearing the pastel colours into winter, but I also cannot deny loving the new season darker shades. Again, there area a huge 29 shades in the range, so something for every taste and occasion.

PRODUCT REVIEW: PHYSICIANS FORMULA NUDE WEAR RANGE
Today I'd like to show you some beautiful products from the Physicians Formula Nude Wear range. These products were launched and sent to me quite some time ago, but with our son so sick and in hospital for 4.5 months I just didn't get a chance to post about them until now. The range includes two Nude Wear Glow Palettes, a Nude Wear Blush and a Nude Wear Touch of Glow Miracle Tool.
Now, I have done quite few reviews of different Physicians Formula Powders, and I hate to say this, but I still don't like the included brush. It is stiff and not only scratches up the pretty embussed designs of the powders in a flash, they are also not very good for applying the products with a nice even finish. I would so love to see these brushes improved to a softer style, or as I basically never apply makeup on the go, and always use my own brushes anyway, I wouldn't really miss these brushes if they were simply left out, - it could consequently mean that the usual slightly bulky compact could be a tad thinner, which would be nice!!
Both the Glow Palette and the Blush come in a cute nude palette in a material that I think is supposed to look like leather. They have a metallic box at the top, making them look so pretty and very girlie.
Now onto the actual products... The Nude Wear Glow Palette is intended as an all in one palette. It is made up of four tiles in graduating shades of color that ranging from light to dark, from an off white highlighter and illuminating powder in the top corner, a pink for the blush to give the cheeks a pop of colour, a beige powder to use all over the face, and a bronzer to give you a sun-kissed glow.
The shades are put together with the intension of giving you a barely there nude look with a touch of glow. The palette has a touch of pearlescent shimmer, yet it is very subtle. The actual palette does have Nude Wear written in shimmery texture, which obviously does give a bit more sheen, but this writing does dissappear rather quickly.
Like the Glow Palette, the Physicians Formula Nude Wear Glowing Nude Blush is made up of four squares, but being a blush, it contains just different shades of pink, making it suitable for a variety of skin tones, as you can always focus more on one shade, or leave out on that is too dark or light for your skin tone.
It is easy to apply, and as it has the slightest bit of shimmer although less than the palette. It gives the skin a natural rosy transparent glow, yet it is pigmented enough to build up the colour if you wish.
Finally, the Nude Wear Touch of Glow Pen is an all-in-one tool that can be used as a concealer, highlighter pen, and for genera touch ups. It comes in a pen style with a brush at the end, so it is easy to apply, and blend too.
As it does have the tiniest touch of shimmer, unfortunately I don't find that it is suitable for covering up the bags under my eyes as they are surrounded by beginning lines, and I don't really want to draw attention to them, also because it does have sheer cover. However, I do find it useful to cover minor marks and use as a highlighter on brow bones and on top of the cheeks.
Overall I am impressed with the quality of these products from Physicians Formula, in particularly the Glow Palettes and the Blush.

PRODUCT REVIEW: MARY KAY ENDLESS PERFORMANCE CREME-TO-POWDER FOUNDATION

To be honest, I have to admit to usually preferring liquid foundation. Not really sure why, just somehow usually find it easier to use. In saying that, I may have to admit that I’m wrong..
This crème to powder foundation is surprisingly easy to apply using the included makeup sponge (you actually get two included with the foundation), or any other makeup sponge or blender for that matter. The foundation glides easily over the skin, and is so easy to blend into an even natural finish. And if you want or need to, you can easily build up the coverage slightly to help cover dark circles under the eyes, redness, and pigmentation.

And in spite of having combination skin, that often tends to get a touch on the greasy side by the afternoon, this foundation actually stay put all day. And without fading, sliding, looking shiny, and very importantly too, without settling into fine lines and wrinkles.
The foundation has a matte finish, which, with combination skin I really like, as too dewy or shimmery foundations often makes me feel that my skin looks even greasier than it really is. Mary Kay also claims that the foundation is heat-, humidity- and transfer-resistant, and I did find that to be true, and that there was minimal transfer on i.e. my glasses and sunglasses when I too them off.
I also really like that the foundation is oil-free and non-comedogenic too, so it is suitable for combination and oily skin types. It has also been dermatologist tested, and tested for skin irritancy and allergy, so it is also suitable for sensitive skin types. In fact, it actually claims to be suitable for all skin types, but in saying that, I am not too sure how it would go on more dry skin types.

At $30, I find the foundation to be relatively well priced, but in saying that, it is also not particularly large with just 10g, so I am not too sure how long it will last before you hit the pan. In saying that, the foundation does come in just a simple plastic case, which as such is fine if you do to tend to take it with you – but it is intended to be put into one of Mary Kay’s special refillable compacts. This black sleek compact comes with a small mirror, and a hidden compartment underneath which holds the makeup sponge. The compact has a magnet making sure that the foundation is kept securely in place. And once you’ve finished up the foundation, you can of course re-use the compact, using it for a new foundation, or even for other makeup products such as eye shadows, blush, bronzer or the like! But essentially, the $28 for the compact does add to the cost of the foundation, essentially making it cost $58.
However, all in all, this is a lovely crème to powder foundation that is easy to apply, gives you a nice seamless matte finish, and lasts all day.

What I Say:
I have mentioned
Colour Theory quite a few times now, in particularly in my Best Budget Beauty
Buys posts, as the products are a fantastic quality at a very low price, with
price points at $4, $6, $8 and $10. You can also see my review of the five
colour Verry Berry Eyeshadow palette here.
The products are put together with inspiration from the
Pantone’s colour of the year 2014, Radiant Orchid.
The eye shadow palette in Peacock Party contains a mix of
dusty pink, mauve, purple, charcoal and jade green as well as a silver shade
for highlighting, making it possible to create a stunning peacock statement
eye, or go more simple skipping the jade green and using the dusty pink, mauve
and grey shades for a more simple look.
The translucent pressed powder powder, that like the rest of
the products comes in a cool clear compact, is finely milled, and helps keep
shine at bay during the day. It gives the skin a nice dewy look with a healthy
sheen, without looking to shimmery, and it applies very lightly, so you don’t
end up looking cakey.
For the lips, you can mix this up, using the lipstick Vegas
Baby, which is a lolly pink lipstick with a saturated matte finish, that stays
put. If you are more to a gloss, you can use the Fresh Glass in Cherry Berry,
which in the tube is a garnet shade, but once applied adds very subtle colour

strawberry shade with a nice sheen, where you an apply just a little for a wash
of colour or build it up for a more intense look.

PRODUCT REVIEW: COLORESCIENCE MINERAL MAKEUP
I have no idea what has taken me so long…I have always been told that mineral makeup is the best for troubled skin prone to breakouts, yet, I have no idea why, when I have always had skin that is breaking out like temperamental teenage skin, I did not try this out earlier.. The first step is applying the Colorescience Skin Brightening Line Tamer Primer, which helps to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles & overall texture and tone, so perfect for my skin with beginning lines, uneven skin texture and pigmentation.
The primer has a slight beigey-yellow tint which instantly makes my skin tone look so much nicer and more even, giving it a nice glow, while giving it a dewy finish. It is easy to spread onto the skin, and it absorbs quickly so you are ready to apply your makeup, although you can also use it on its own.
The next step is to apply the foundation, in this case the Colorescience Pressed Foundation in the shade A Taste of Honey.
Having sadly suffered from acne when I was younger with the result that I am not left with some scarring and marks, and add to that increasing pigmentation, means that I generally prefer a minimum of a medium covering foundation, And this foundation ticks all boxes. It so light-weight, but as it is also so pigmented it that it is easy to build up coverage so you can hide any blemishes and pigmentation, and without it looking thick or cakey.
The included sponge makes it easy to apply, and you easily can apply just a little or add another layer or two where you need it. And my skin is left looking so nice and even, and with a natural finish too.
I then follow with a spritz of the Colorescience Hydrating Mist.
This hydrating setting mist that not only sets the makeup and activates the minerals for a more luminous look, it also keeps the makeup in place so it is less transferable – all while serum ingredients add hydration to the skin.
And this mist is also perfect to use throughout the day to revitalise the makeup look, and refreshen the skin, so perfect both during summer when your skin is exposed to air conditioners, and in winter too when you’ve got the heater going.
The final step is a sweep of the Colorescience Sunforgettable SPF 15, which is a lightweight mineral powder that contains broad spectrum UVA/UVB sun protection.
This powder is so fine and light weight, and applies sheer, so it is perfect to use for touch-ups on the go, also because it comes in a self-dispensing retractable powder brush. I did have a few issues getting the powder ‘flowing’ for the first time, but with a bit of tapping if was finally coming through, and now I love it, and it is just perfect for keeping shine at bay, while not clogging up my pores or make my makeup look cakey. And love that it contains SPF15, as even in winter, it is so important to stay sun smart!
Overall, these products from Colorescience are nothing short of amazing, and I love how they give my skin such a nice even appearance and with a natural healthy glow too, and although I have combination skin prone to the afternoon shine, they do stay put all day without fading, changing colour, or settling into fine lines. And what’s even better is that the products care and treat my skin as I wear them. What’s not to love!

Product Review: Ultraceuticals CC Powder Pure Mineral Foundation

and now the new CC products , which stands for Colour Correction or Complete
Correction are following troop. Here are my thoughts on the *Ultraceuticals CC Powder Pure Mineral Foundation;

What I Say:
The Ultraceuticals
CC Powder Pure Mineral Foundation comes in a sleek round compact with mirror
and a soft bristled applicator brush. The mirror is the size of the compact,
which makes it very useful, and the brush is of a good quality, which is a nice
change, as usually I find the brushes that come with powders, blushes etc. are
of average quality, and although I still prefer to use my own long-shafted
powder brushes, the small brush is still perfect for touch-ups on the go.
When I
first received the compact it took me a few minutes to work out how to open it,
but you simply twist it, so simple, yet it is closes securely so no need to
worry that it will pop open in your handbag.
I have a medium
neutral skin tone, and I tested shade 2, which is a perfect match.
It simply
provides a nice even coverage without looking cakey, and it means that my skin
stays looking matte all day, keeping any shine on particularly my t-zone area
at bay, even on my combination skin, and without settling into my fine lines
and wrinkles either.
With ageing
skin, I love the fact that this mineral powder has anti-ageing properties with the
included ingredients such as Vitamin B3, C and E, so it cares for my skin all
day long, making it feel so lovely to wear, and without drying out my skin
either.
The powder
is extremely fine milled, in fact, according to Ultraceuticals it is triple-milled,
which explains why it is so soft and silky and goes onto the skin so nicely.
I also love
the fact that it is free harsh chemicals including parabens as well as it is
free from talc, preservatives, dyes, bismuth and fragrances, and that the
products have not been tested on animals.
What I
Like:
- It comes in a gorgeous modern white compact with a large mirror and a quality brush
- It has anti-ageing properties caring for my skin while I wear it
- It is comfortable to wear and stays put all day, leaving my skin shine free without settling into fine lines
- Provides a nice even coverage
- Free from parabens, talc, preservatives. dyes, bismuth and fragrances, and has not been tested on animals
What I
Don’t Like:
- Unfortunately it doesn’t contain any SPF
- A little pricey
I would
like it to provide a little more coverage to be the foundation it claims to be,
but in saying that, I love using it as a powder on top of my existing
foundation.
Overall, I really love this foundation – although
while it is called a foundation, I would classify it more as a foundation as it
only provides a light coverage, and I generally do feel I require a better
coverage than it provides, so I will be using it on top of my normal
foundation.
But I so love using it as a setting powder and to
keep away any shine. It will be perfect heading towards a hot and humid summer,
and I know I will keep reaching for this again and again.
At $69 this
is not the cheapest foundation, but considering it is a triple-milled powder of
such high quality, it is in my opinion worth every cent.
