Product Review: Pevonia Botanica Ligne Nymphea Micro-Emulsified massage Oil Anti-Stress

Today I’d like to share with you a review of a product that I’ve been enjoying lately, the *Pevonia Botanica Ligne Nymphea Micro-Emulsified Massage Oil Anti-Stress;

What They Say:
"Exhale and De-stress! Enjoy a relaxing massage any time…anywhere. Elegantly creamy, Micro-Emulsion Massage Oil Anti-Stress releases pent up tension and fatigue as it easily glides onto your skin. Delightfully aromatic, nourishing Safflower, Geranium, and Orange Oils blend to activate circulation, replenish elasticity and hydration while relieving dryness."

RRP: $61 (150ml) – Available from Pevonia Botanica

What I Say:
When I first received the Pevonia Micro-Emulsified massage Oil Anti-Stress, I was expecting a massage oil. I mean, it is after all called massage oil! So I was surprised to see that this in fact has the consistency of a moisturiser! It would have been a little more fitting calling it a massage cream! But as Pevonia puts it, as you massage it into the skin “your skin’s own warmth promotes the oil’s release and helps it become increasingly silkier”, which hence justifies the name.

It comes in the white soft touch bottle with a modern shape unique to Pevonia. It has a clear blue screw lid and has been designed to stand on its lid, which I like as the cream drops down in the bottle as I use it, making it easy to use every last bit in the bottle.

The cream has a light lotion consistency, and once applied, it does leave the skin feeling a little greasy for a little while, but when you remember that this is in fact a ‘massage oil’, that makes perfect sense. Yet the greasiness is not so bad that I don’t feel I can use this as a body moisturiser, it is just not suitable to use as a hand cream as it will mean you will leave some greasy fingerprints behind.

I don’t have particularly dry skin on my body, but still I can instantly feel how the cream is hydrating my skin, making it feel so silky soft, smooth and moisturised throughout the day, leaving the skin with a nice sheen, yet without making the skin feel congested or clogged from too much moisture.

The cream is supposed to also help with tension and fatigue, but unless you’ve got someone else at hand to help massage the cream into tensioned shoulders, I am not sure it is really helping me de-stress. But in saying that, when I have the time, I love pampering myself, and using such a lovely cream as the Pevonia Micro-Emulsified massage Oil Anti-Stress, in itself is an enjoyable and relaxing experience.

The cream has a lovely gentle fruity yet floral scent, no doubt coming from the included orange, safflower and geranium, and this scent lingers on the skin for quite a while, which I really like.

At $61 for a 150ml tube, this is not a cheap massage cream, but it is very concentrated so a little goes a long way.

What I Like:
  • It makes my skin feel silky soft and smooth
  • It has a gorgeous scent
  • It feels so luxurious to use

What I Don’t Like:
  • The price

Overall, this is a lovely massage cream, and I love using it when I come out of the shower as I love how soft and smooth it makes my skin feel, and not to mention the gorgeous scent it leaves behind. It may be a bit expensive, but to me it is worth it for the pleasure I have of using it, it is such a treat, that it is completely worth it!

Product Review: Pevonia Botanica Ligne Yeux Évolutive Eye Gel

I am at the age where I cannot go past a good eye cream to try to slow down the signs of ageing – and well, having a five month old baby, and no longer getting my required beauty sleep, a product that helps minimise the look of tiredness and dark circles under the eyes, doesn’t go astray. Here are my thoughts on the *Pevonia Botanica Ligne Yeux Évolutive Eye Gel;

What They Say:
"Goodbye puffy eyes! Microemulsified C Évolutive Eye Gel with high-tech time-release sphérulites delivers decongesting benefits to your delicate eye zone throughout the day. Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, and Ginkgo Biloba, combine to reduce dark circles and puffiness. Reveal alluring eyes with a visibly refreshed and rejuvenated eye contour."

RRP: $124.50 (30ml) – Available from Pevonia Botanica

What I Say:
I recently tried the Skincare Solution Pack for Combinationskin from Pevonia Botanica, and was so amazed by the results in a very short time, so I was looking forward to trying the Pevonia Botanica Ligne Yeux Évolutive Eye Gel as well.

The Ligne Yeux Évolutive Eye Gel claims to reduce puffiness and dark circles, smooth wrinkles, and help preserve skin elasticity, and be refreshing to reveal a rejuvenated eye contour.

It contains among others Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, Squalane Oil, Ginkgo Biloba, Chamomile and Calendula, and it is recommended for use in the morning, and at night ideally under the Évolutive Eye Cream.
I have sensitive eyes, that easily water, so it is a requirement for me that any products that I use around my eye area are very gentle, and I was pleased to discover that I had no issues what so ever with the eye gel.

It has a lovely and light texture, which absorbs instantly into the skin, and doesn’t leave behind a stick or greasy film around the eye area, and hence it works perfectly under makeup. And as promised, the gel has a soothing and refreshing feeling, more than likely due to containing chamomile and ginkgo biloba.

After having used the eye gel or over a month, I am absolutely loving it, and the refreshing feeling when I get up in the morning still feeling tired – which sadly I do most mornings with a 5 month old baby.

My area is looks and feels thoroughly hydrated, yet without feeling it is drowning from too much moisture. My skin around the eye area seems refreshed and plump and fine lines seem to have minimised a little. As for the dark circles, unfortunately they are still there, but I also did not expect these do disappear, as regardless of the quality of an eye cream, nothing can correct the damage of sleep deprivation when you have a little baby!

The eye gel has a gentle fresh floral scent, and comes in a small simple white squeeze tube with a pointy tip, which makes it easy to get just the amount of gel you need without wastage – just be careful not to squeeze the tube too hard or you will push out more gel than you need. The tube contains a whopping 30ml, and as it gel is so concentrated, and just a tiny bit covers the eye area so well, so it will last you forever and ever.

At $124.50 this is quite expensive, probably one of the most expensive eye creams that I have ever tried – but it is then important to remember that it comes in a huge 30ml tube, which is double the size of most other eye creams. In saying that, I think I would prefer if it came in a tube half the size at half the price, so the initial outlay wouldn’t be so high, and price wise it would be comparable to other quality eye creams on the market.

What I Like:
  • It is gentle around my sensitive eyes area
  • Perfect to use under makeup
  • Absorbs instantly and has a nice refreshing feeling
  • Thoroughly moisturises eye area, and fine lines seem to be reduced
  • And nice gentle floral scent

What I Don’t Like:
  • The eye gel is a little pricey, and I would much prefer if it came in a tube half the size, which would make the price reasonable
  • You need to be careful not to squeeze the tube too hard or you will push out more gel than needed

Overall, Pevonia Botanica has impressed me again. This is such a lovely eye gel, and I love how refreshing it feels on my eye area, and how it in such a short time has made a difference to the appearance of fine lines. You cannot blame the eye gel for not resulting in a reduction of the dark circles caused by a continuous lack of sleep.  I will enjoy using the rest of this gel, and definitely consider purchasing this again along with other products from Pevonia Botanica.

Product Review: Pevonia Botanica Skin Care Solution Pack for Combination Skin

Over the years I have tried countless of different skin care regimes to look after and care for my combination problem skin, which has always been prone to breakouts. And I love trial kits, giving you the opportunity to trial how several products feel and react on your skin, before you go out and spend up big on full sized products that you may not like or which may not agree with your skin. Here are my thoughts on the *Pevonia Botanica Skin Care Solution Pack for Combination Skin;

What They Say:
"Combination skin requires products that normalize an oily T-zone while combating dehydration. Complete with Combination Skin Cleanser, Lotion, and Cream, this budget-friendly kit contains all of the essentials for treating combination skin and is perfect on the go with air travel 3-1-1 carry-on approved products. Balance and hydrate your skin with a combination of precise ingredients. Recovering perfect synergy, your skin reflects a wonderfully balanced, even appearance."

RRP: $105, which includes Cleanser (50ml), Lotion (50), Cream (20ml), and white skincare pouch – Available from Pevonia Online

What I Say:

I love the fact that the Pevonia products are free from parabens, alcohol, lanolin, mineral oils, PABA, Urea, artificial colours, formaldehyde and SLS – Big bonus points from me!

The products among others contain Lactic Acid to exfoliate and soothe the skin, rosemary to rejuvenate and improve blood circulation, grapefruit to control the T-zone oiliness, refine pores and be brightening as well as aloe for its moisturizing and healing properties.

The Combination Skin Cleanser is a cream cleanser with a lovely gentle floral scent. I do love a cleanser that lathers up on my face, but being a cream cleanser this doesn’t lather up very well – but after massaging it into my skin and rinsing it off with sponge wet with warm water, my skin feels clean, soft and refined, and my pores feel clean deep down, all makeup and impurities, and excess oil removed, without feeling stripped for moisture, and without leaving behind a greasy residue. The cleanser does struggle a bit with my waterproof eye makeup, but don’t mind that at all, as I always use a specific eye makeup remover anyway.

I follow with the Combination Skin Lotion on a cotton pad that I wipe over my face and neck – and it is here that I can see that the cleanser is very effective, as there is no makeup residue coming onto the cotton pad. The skin lotion is like a tonic, but unlike other toners which are often drying on the skin as they contain alcohol, this clear liquid lotion is free from alcohol and instead contains ingredients to help balance the skin, including Aloe for its hydrating benefits with Lactic Acid for its oil-control capability. And as soon as I’ve wiped the lotion over my skin it feels lovely, moisturising and soothing on the skin. Unlike the cleaner, unfortunately the toner has a somewhat stronger spicy rosemary scent which I am not overly fond off, but as I really love how this toner feels on my skin, it will certainly not stop me from purchasing it again, also because this scent does fade quickly once the lotion has been absorbed into the skin.

I finish with the Balancing Combination Skin Cream, which contains among others Arnica, Aloe, Hazel Nut Oil, Tocopherol (Vit. E), Cucumber and Lemon Grass combine to balance, hydrate and control oiliness balancing and refining the skin and refine visible pores. And I love how light this moisturiser feels on my combination skin. It absorbs easy into the skin, instantly making my skin feel soft and smooth, and as claimed, my skin feels less greasy during the day. It works perfectly under makeup, and in fact, I feel that it makes my makeup stay looking nice for longer as it helps control the oil production on my skin.

The cream is intended to be used both morning and night, which I like as it is one less product in my bathroom cabinet. However, unfortunately the cream doesn’t contain any SPF, and consequently I prefer to use it as a night cream only, and use another cream with SPF during the day.

Unlike the cleanser and the lotion, the cream has a lovely fresh citrusy scent due to containing lemon grass, and as citrus scented products is my favourite, I am so in love with this cream - It's my absolute favourite of the three products!

Oh, and I forgot to mention the gorgeous white quilted skincare pouch, which is so cute with a tassel on the zipper, and absolutely perfect to use as makeup bag.

What I like:
  • That the products are free from parabens, alcohol, lanolin, mineral oils, PABA, Urea, artificial colours, formaldehyde and SLS
  • The products are very gentle yet so effective in such a short period of time
  • The cream has the most refreshing citrus scent
  • My skin is thoroughly moisturised yet oil production is balanced

What I Don’t Like:
  • The toner as a slightly spicy rosemary scent which I’m not too fond off
  • The products are a little pricey
  • The cream doesn’t contain SPF, which I find is necessary for daytime use, so although the cream is recommended for both night and day, I find it better suited as just a night cream

Overall, after having used this skincare set from Pevonia Botanica for a couple of weeks I am so impressed. My skin feels thoroughly moisturised, less greasy and I seem to be getting less blemishes. And because my skin is less greasy, my makeup is easier to apply, and stays put for longer without sliding off my face.

At $105 the skincare kit is not the cheapest, but honestly, the products are very generous in size, and they are some of the most luxurious and high quality products that I have used for a long time, so I feel that they are worth it, also seeing I really feel a difference in my skin after using for such a short period of time, so I will definitely be looking into repurchasing these products. And again as I mentioned above, I really love these kits where you get to trial several smaller products and make sure they work for your skin before spending up big on full sized products.
