PRODUCT REVIEW: BEYONCE RISE SHEER EAU DE PARFUM

Today I’d like to share with you a new limited edition fragrance from Beyonce, the Beyonce Rise Sheer Eau de Parfum;

What They Say:

A sparkling, fresh floral, Beyonce Rise Sheer is a lighter, fresher version of the alluring BEYONCÉ RISE scent. Featuring notes of citrus, orchid and blonde woods, it offers all of the gold sophistication of RISE with a fresh and alluring attitude.

RRP: $69 (100ml) – Available from Myer and Select Pharmacies

What I Say:

The original Beyonce Rise perfume was inspired by the singers on-stage persona, as well as by female empowerment and finding the inner strength that makes women so beautiful. The new limited edition Rise Sheer, is somewhat similar, although naturally a lot lighter and fresher, which personally I do prefer.

It contains:

  • Top notes: Italian Bergamot, Sicilian Lemon, Iced Basil Sorbet
  • Middle Notes: Gold Symphony Orchid, White Peony, Hydroponic Jasmine
  • Bottom Notes: Blonde Woods, Sheer Musk, White Amber

I love that it includes lemon, as zesty scents are amongst my favourites, and also that you can detect notes of jasmine and peony. It also contains mush and amber, which I have to admit I often find too heavy for my liking, but luckily that is not the case with the Rise Sheer, a the citrus and floral notes are more dominant.

As is usually the case with light fragrances, it doesn’t last all day, and I do find that I have to reapply by the middle of the day. But the light scent is perfect for everyday casual use, and in all honestly, would probably be better suited for spring and summer and not autumn and winter as we are not heading towards here in Australia.

The fragrance comes in a tall glass bottle with a gold lid, and it is supposed to symbolise the ‘Rise’ of Beyonce’s career as a singer. Unfortunately the gold lid is made from plastic, which I do feel is a little tacky, and makes it feel a little less luxurious.

However, all in all this is a lovely fresh scent, and as I generally prefer fresh and light scents, I consequently also much prefer this Rise Sheer over the original Rise scent.

If you too like light scents, then I highly recommend that you check it out sooner rather than later, as it is a limited edition.

PRODUCT REVIEW: BEYONCE HEAT WILD ORCHID EAU DE PARFUM

Today I’d like to share with you a newly launched perfume from Beyoncé, the Heat Wild Orchid*;

What They Say:

Beyoncé Heat Wild Orchid is an enticing, mouth-watering fragrance that emits a fierce, feminine energy. Created in collaboration with Firmenich Perfumer Honorine Blanc, it both invites and intoxicates those who encounter it. At the heart of it all is the Butterfly Orchid, believed to have magical aphrodisiac qualities, which gives the scent its exotic signature. It is enveloped by an addictive mélange of fruits, florals and woods to create a captivating and memorable scent, perfect for spring.

RRP: $49 (50ml), $69 (100ml) – Available from Myer and selected pharmacies

What I Say:

Wow, Beyonce certainly seems to be pumping out the fragrances, and personally I’ve lost count of how many she has launched by now. There are a few other Beyonce Heat Fragrances including Heat, Heat Rush and Midnight Heat, and the new Heat Wild Orchid has the same bottle style and shape as the others although in a different shade. The Heat Wild Orchid has a lovely girly hot pink shade with a faded effect.

The perfume contains:
Top Notes: Pomegranate, Coconut Water, Boysenberry
Middle Notes: Butterfly Orchid, Honeysuckle, Blooming Magnolia
Bottom Notes: Blonde Woods, Skin Musks, Gilded Amber

The perfume has a quite sweet musky undertone, and is a lot heavier than the fresh and fruity scents that I usually pick, and while it is not a scent I would usually pick myself, it is certainly a lovely and welcome change.  You can definitely detect the musk, amber and wood notes, while the pomegranate and boysenberry gives it the sweet scent and magnolia, orchid and honeysuckle lingers as the floral scent.

As it is a little heavy, consequently I do find that it is better suited for a night out, than used a day fragrance, and although we’re now in spring, I do actually find that it would be so be so much more appropriate for autumn and winter wear.

The perfume has a relative good wear, lasting approx. 6-7 hours before you need to re-spray, so if you use it in the morning, you do have to spray again before going out at night, but I find that quite reasonable.

Overall this is another lovely scent from Beyoncé, and if you are like sweet, floral and musky scents, then I highly recommend that you try the new Beyoncé Heat Wild Orchid.

PRODUCT REVIEW: BEYONCE RISE EAU DE PARFUM

Today I’d like to share with you my thoughts on the recently launched Rise Eau de Parfum by Beyonce;

What They Say: It's opening notes include apricot, Italian bergamot and iced basil sorbet. The main note of the perfume is, of course, orchid and this time it is an orchid called "Golden Symphony", which is mixed with freesia and Sambac jasmine flowers and placed at the base of the autumn woods, cashmere, musk and vetiver.

RRP: $49 (50ml), $69 (100ml)

What I Say:

The Beyonce Rise perfume is inspired by the singers on-stage persona, as well as by “female empowerment and finding the inner strength that makes women so beautiful.

The scent is feminine musky and warm woody scent, but it is far from overpowering, rather it is still so light that it is perfectly suited for daytime wear. And while I am not the greatest fan of musky scents, generally preferring fresh citrusy scents, I do like this scent, as the freesia and jasmine notes makes it floral at the same time, and therefore softening the woody musky notes.

The fragrance, again, I think due to the freesia and jasmine notes, is not too heavy, so it is perfect for daytime wear, especially now that that it is winter here.

The fragrance lasts quite well, though I do feel I need to reapply by the afternoon, especially if I am going out at night again.

The fragrance comes in a tall glass bottle with a gold lid, and it is supposed to symbolise the ‘Rise’ of Beyonce’s career as a singer. The bottle reminds me of the State Empire Building (which I hope to one day get to see!), and it has a god lid. Unfortunately the gold lid is made from plastic, so that does somewhat make it feel a little less luxurious to me.

Overall, it is a lovely fragrance, and I will enjoy wearing it during winter.

Product News: Beyoncé launches Pulse NYC

Pop diva Beyoncé launched her first perfume, Heat in 2010, and shortly after Heat Ultimate Elixir and Heat Rush were also appeared on the market. In 2011 Pulse was launched, and in 2012, Midnight Heat was introduced.

And now Beyoncé is launching the newest scent in her perfume collection; Beyoncé Pulse NYC, An Electric Meeting of Two Style Icons: Beyoncé and New York City!

The latest fragrance in the Beyoncé Parfums collection takes inspiration in the culture capital of the world to create an olfactory expression of Beyoncé adopted city.

The perfumer Carlos Vinals of Symrise has created Pulse NYC as a personalised showcase of Beyoncé’s New York, it is inspired by Beyoncé and the vibrant city that she has made her home.

To capture the unique spirit of both, a one-of-a-kind scent with many facets -pretty yet fierce, edgy yet sophisticated, sexy yet graceful was created.

The fragrance opens with sparkling Raspberry, rich Pomegranate, and juicy Bartlett Pear. Fruits give way to floral notes of bright Peony and exotic Jasmine Sambac. The fierce rock orchid blooms at the heart of Pulse NYC.

The orchid is Beyoncé's favourite flower and is the symbol of strength and self-confidence in all of her perfumes. The fragrance unwinds with sensuality as Patchouli, Cashmere Musk, and Red Velvet Cupcake, an accord captured in fragrance for the first time ever, seduce the senses.

The advertising campaign captures Beyoncé from a stylish vantage point in Midtown as she looks over the energetic city at dusk. Beyoncé is sexy, bold and glamorous, in a one-of-a-kind couture blue mirrored dress designed by CD Greene.
The Beyoncé Pulse NYC Collection

Eau de Parfum 50ml $49
Eau de Parfum 100ml $69

Beyoncé Pulse NYC will be available February 2013 in select pharmacies, Target and Priceline stores nationally

The perfume sounds absolutely gorgeous – and as it has been the long-time dream of mine to visit New York, this may be the closest that I will get for a while..!

And doesn’t Beyoncé just look gorgeous as always in that mirrored dress (wish I could pull that off!!)??
Have you ever tried any of Beyoncé’s perfumes? What do you think about celebrity perfumes? And which perfume is your favourite?
