If there is something I love, it is when brands step up and support a great cause, and that is exactly what Australian beauty brand, Wrinkles Schminkles is doing this March. Wrinkles Schminkles has joined forces with Pink Hope and created The Chest Revival Kit.
A new year, for most means lots of resolutions. I don’t usually make too many, simply as I know I will rarely keep them and let myself down. And hey, in my opinion, you also gotta live life. What’s the point of depriving yourself of all the good stuff. Everything in moderation, if you ask me.
That said, I do have a few things I want to improve on in regards to my health, drink more water, eat a little healthier, nurture my body and skin from within and find a little more time for pampering myself, which can be a little hard at times with two little kids.
Today I’d like to talk about Wrinkles Schminkles - I have previously tried the Wrinkles Schimikles Silicone Chest Décolleté Pads, (you can read all abut here), so today I'm talk about the Wrinkles Schminkles Forehead and Eye Wrinkle Treatment pack which is now also available from Activeskin.
The Wrinkles Schminkles Silicone Forehead and Eye Smoothing Pads contain medical grade silicone pads for the forehead and under eyes, and claim to help slow down forehead lines and wrinkles, frown lines, wrinkles around and under the eyes and crows feet wrinkles can be caused by ageing, sun damage, facial expressions and sleeping facedown or on your side. The pads may not be able to remove your lines and wrinkles, but they will help soften them, so you'll wake up looking more refreshed.
The Wrinkles Schminkles Forehead and Eye Smoothing Pads are applied to clean skin, that is also free from moisturiser, before going to bed at night so they can do their magic while you sleep.
The silicone pads stick to the skin with adhesive silicone, and the pad keeps the skin in place so the skin basically cannot crease up and cause wrinkles to form! In addition, silicone naturally creates moisture in the skin to plump out and soften existing wrinkles. It also helps to stimulate collagen that among others help prevent and reduce scarring.
The pads do take a few moment to apply, or at least until you get used to them, but still they are fairly simple to apply. Once on the skin, they do feel a little cool until they've warmed to the temperature of your skin, but hereafter you'd hardly know they are there. I had worried that especially the under eye pads would feel a little strange.
When you wake in the morning you simply peel it off the skin and put it back onto its plastic sheet, and the next night you use it again, and again, and again… they are said to start to lose their adhesiveness after 20-30 uses, but if you use the special Wrinkles Schminkles Cleaning Solution you bring back the adhesiveness and continue to reuse them over and over again!
So how did they fare... Well, after the very first use, when I woke in the morning, I felt that my especially the area around my eyes in general looked more relaxed and fresher than usual, and the area looking plump and moisturised too, and that in fact of not applying my usual arsenal of serums, eye creams and moisturisers to those areas. Again, wrinkles and lines were still there, but nothing but a dramatic face lift would erase them from my face, but overall my skin really does look more refreshed and younger, which is impressive.
So all in all I am quite impressed with these Wrinkles Schminkles Forehead and Eye Wrinkle Pads and would certainly consider getting my hands on the Wrinkles Schminkles Cleaning Solution so I can continue to use the pad over and over again, as well as check out the rest of the products in the Wrinkles Schminkles range.

So what is Wrinkles Schminkles – well in short it is a silicone pad that you apply to your skin while you sleep to help minimise both existing wrinkles as well as new ones from forming.
So how is that possible…
The Wrinkles Schminkles Silicone chest pad is shaped almost like a heart, and you apply it at night before bedtime to clean and dry skin that is also free from moisturiser.
The silicone pad sticks to the skin with adhesive silicone, and the pad keeps the skin in place so the skin basically cannot crease up and cause wrinkles to form! In addition, silicone naturally creates moisture in the skin to plump out and soften existing wrinkles. It also helps to stimulate collagen that among others help prevent and reduce scarring.
The Wrinkles Schminkles are quite easy to apply, and once on the skin and the initial cool sensation from the silicone has passed, it feels comfortable and you wouldn’t even know it is there. The pads are said to be especially good for side-sleepers, as sleeping on the side does make the skin sag – so in other words, also perfect for me while pregnant, and forced to sleep on my sides for the next many months (oh how I miss being able to sleep on my back or even tummy!)

So how did they perform? Well, I do (sadly) have some chest wrinkles, caused both by ageing, and from sun damage, but I cannot really speak for the scarring as I don’t believe I have any on the chest area. And I only used the pads for about 10 days or so, and then admit that I kind of forgot a few nights as I was simply too over-tired to remember! (try being pregnant, suffering with morning sickness and dealing with a toddler that wakes numerous times during the night) – and when I tried again, the pads had last their stickiness, possibly because I had been using them during some very hot (record hot, I believe) nights, which may be the reason.
However, in spite of the short use I find that when I woke in the morning, my décolleté area in general looked more relaxed than when not using the pads. I generally mark very easy, and most mornings I wake with marks on my face and body from where the sheets or my pillow has been folded and creased, and the same is the case with my face and décolleté as well, and sometimes it takes a good 30+ minutes for my skin to ‘fil out’ again. But when using pads, the skin simply looked more fresh and certainly very moisturised and plum, and that in spite of not applying my usual night cream on the décolleté area, and there were none of these crease wrinkles in sight either. Sadly my permanent wrinkles and lines didn’t disappear, but to be honest, I also didn’t expect that to happen, that would be too good to be true!!
However, all in all I am quite impressed with the results and would certainly consider purchasing the Wrinkles Schminkles Cleaning Solution so I can continue to use the pad over and over again, as well as I’d be keen to find out how the other products in the range, including the Chest Smoothing Kit, Neck Smoothing Kit, Mouth Smoothing Kit and Forehead and Eye Smoothing Kit would perform.
