MOTHER'S DAY GIFT IDEA - BELLA BOX LIMITED EDITION MOTHER'S DAY BOX 2017

Does your mum love beauty products and needs to be spoilt a little extra this Mother's Day? Then why not treat her to the ultimate pampering gift this year. Bella Box have the most amazing limited edition Mother's Day Box, which is chock full of pampering goodies including skincare and makeup, that every woman will love. This special Mother's Day box, is a again a limited edition once off box, (and not part of the regular subscription service), and it contains a massive 12 products, valued at over $160, but you can get it for the bargain price of $49.95 (with free shipping).

Unlike the 'regular' monthly boxes, this Mother's Day box comes in a navy blue box, and the products in the box include:

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Floral & Flirty Blush - 50ml
I absolutely love the Batiste Dry Shampoos, and actually couldn’t be without them as they are such a lifesaver, when you want to hit the snooze button on the alarm clock once more in the mornings. This particular one has a gorgeous fresh floral scent, and the small size also makes it perfect to pop into the handbag.

Nuxe Nirvanesque Smoothing Eye Contour Cream - 15ml (full size) Another brand I absolutely love, so this eye cream doesn’t go astray, - and being full sized it is valued at approx $45.95, already making this box exceptionally good value. The eye cream contains among others hyaluronic acid and optical correcting pigments to help smoothe away wrinkles and expression lines, while also reducing dark circles. Sounds incredible, and cant wait to put this one to the test.

Sukin Renewing Body Scrub with Green Tea an Jojoba - 50ml Yet another brand that I like, as it is high quality and efficient, while being so budget friendly. This body scrub contains micro jojoba beads and green tea leaves and ground walnut shells to help polish the skin and buff away dead skin cells, while leaving the skin soft and smooth thanks to containing among others coconut oil, jojoba oil and aloe vera, and rosehip oils. I also love the fact that it is free from all the chemical nasties, including no parabens and sulphates.

Molton Brown Orange & Bergamot Hand Wash - 30ml One of my favourite scents, is citrus, so this orange scented hand wash is right up my alley, as it smells so gorgeous. Molton Brown is known for their luxurious bath products, and this hand wash doesn’t fail to impress me either, and I'm almost looking for an excuse to wash my hands.

Thankyou Hand Cream with Botanical Geranium & Rosewood - 70ml I have the biggest respect for the brand Thankyou, who donates to help water and sanitary programs around the world. Their products are extremely well priced, yet are so good, and look incredible too. I already have several of them around the house, so very happy with the inclusion of this hand cream. It smells absolutely amazing, and leaves the hands feeling soft and smooth.

Momma Pure Rosehip & Jojoba Butter Rejuvenating Raw Sugar Face Scrub This face scrub is made using 100% natural pure essential oils, which immediately appeals to me. I am also excited about getting the opportunity to try a new brand that I've never heard of before.

Beach Road Naturals Body Bar with Coconut Oil & Kaffir Lime - 100g I admit that I am not the biggest user or fan of soap bars, for the pure reason that I do find they become a little messy after a while. That said, this one does sound pretty good, made from triple milled soap, and infused with coconut husk, and kaffir lime leaf to help gently exfoliate dead skin, to leave it soft and smooth.

Sarah Jean False Lashes - one set Then there's these false synthetic lashes from Sarah Jean, which looks absolutely stunning, and will be perfect for a special night out.

Sarah Jean Waterproof Clear Eyelash Adhesive - 4ml And what's false lashes without adhesive, so Bella Box has been so insightful as to also make sure to include a pack with clear adhesive.

PONi Cosmetics Pegasus Liquid Liner in black - Full Size
This is another product I am extremely excited about. I have a couple of PONi products which I so love, and using black liquid liner daily, I cannot wait to try this one. Another full sized product valued at around $29!

One Seed Organic Perfumery Freedom Organic Perfum - Sample vial I have heard of One Seed fragrances, but never had an opportunity to try, so this is another one that really excites me. The brand makes organic perfume, and this one smells so lovely, and the small vial spray is also the perfect little size to pop into the handbag.

Embasan Candles Fragrance Diffuser in Green Tea, Guava, and Tangerine - 10ml This little hanging fragrance diffuser is so adorable. It is made with stunning rose gold with a timber lid and a black cord, and it is perfect to hang in smaller spaces such as the wardrobe or in the bathroom. The Green Tea, Guava and Tangerine scent smells divine, and will keep your room smelling lovely for up to 4 months, will looking amazing too.

Finally, there is also a cute Sweet Mickie Quote Cookie included in the box, and who can resist that!!

So there you have it, a selection of amazing goodies in this limited edition Bella Box Mother's Day box. It is truly good value as just the Nuxe eye cream on its own, and the box is basically paid for, and the remainder of the items are bonuses, and there is literally everything in the box for skin, body and home. So treat your mum, and perhaps yourself too to this box, you both deserve it, and will love discovering and pampering yourselves with these beautiful products.

PRODUCT REVIEW; NUXE PARIS PRODIGIEUX LE PARFUM

Today I’d like to share with you a newly launched fragrance from Nuxe.

If you’re a beauty fanatic like me, you have no doubt come across the cult product, the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Purpose Dry Oil, and know how amazing it is and how beautiful its scent is. Well, the new Prodigueux Le Perfum, based on this oil, has now been launched. Or should I say, I believe that it was launched quite some time ago in the rest of the world, but sadly, as always, Australia seems to be lagging a bit behind.

Anyway, the Prodigueux Le Perfum Prodigieuse has the following notes;

Top notes: orange blossom, bergamot, mandarin orange and orange
Middle notes: rose, magnolia and garden

Base notes: vanilla, coconut milk and pebbles

First up, I am not a lover of coconut scented products, but luckily I cannot detect those notes at all in the fragrance. Rather I smell the fruity warmth from the orange and orange blossom, magnolia, gardenia and the bergamot, all some of my favourite scents. It supposedly also contains ‘pebbles’, but not really sure how to interpret that, or how pebbles are supposed to smell!!

I normally prefer light, fresh and fruity scents, but I am also one of those who absolutely love the Nuxe Huile, and the comforting scent that it was, and I love how the Le Parfum matches that and brings with it and stronger and more longer lasting scent.

It is an eau de parfum, and hence, of the category that it is stronger and hence has more concentrated ingredients in it, and therefore should last longer – it doesn’t quite last as long on the skin as I would have liked, but yet, much better than most eau de toilettes , and it is still vaguely there at the end of the day, so after all not too bad.

While the scent again is a lot warmer than most fragrances that I normally wear, it is still not so strong or heavy that I find that it is only suitable for night time wear, I also like using during the day, as it is still so subtle.

I have lost count of how many Huiles I have gone through by now and doubt that this perfume will be my last either – and if you too are a fan of the Huile, then I highly recommend that you give the Prodigieux a try too, you won’t be disappointed.

RRP: $69.95/50ml - Available from Adore Beauty, RY, Priceline

PRODUCT REVIEW: LUST HAVE IT MAY 2015

The May Lust Have It box arrived on my doorstep Monday 8th June. After running delays for the past many months, LHI announced a while ago that they would skip the April box to get back on track, but still the May box didn’t quite manage to arrive within the relevant month, although the delay wasn’t quite as big as previous months. But here’s my thoughts on this month’s box;

What They Say
Lust Have It boxes regularly contains products worth $60+ for only $19.95/month! Monthly box filled with 5 to 6 premium beauty samples. Delivered to your home or work each month for you to try.

RRP: Lust Have It Box (monthly) RRP: $19.95, Eco Box (quarterly) RRP: $29.95 – but if you use my unique code LIFESTYLE at the checkout on the Lush Have It website, you are eligible for $5 off your first box from Lust Have It, and at the same time you’ll also be supporting Beauty & Lifestyle Hunter, as I will get a few dollars too if someone subscribes using this code.
Availab
le from Lust Have It

What I Say:

Like last month, the products this month came in a plain, foldable plain gift box, only this month it’s pink. Not sure why LHI has gone to this style of packaging, but I don’t really mind as I have heaps of the mesh toilet bags previously used anyway. Anyway, this is what was in the box;

Bloom Foundation Stick – Full Size (RRP: $35.00)

Boxes either came with the foundation stick or foundation brush. I got the foundation stick in shade base3, which I’m personally happy with as I already have numerous foundation brushes. As for the shade, it is a little dark for my winter pale skin, but hoping it will work come spring and summer. Regardless I am looking very forward to trying it out as I don’t recall ever trying any makeup from Bloom.

Soak Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Lotion – Sample Sizes 25ml each (RRP: Shampoo and Conditioner $24.95/500ml each, Body Lotion, $29.95/500ml)

A brand that is completely new to me, which I love – well except that the body lotion also popped up in this month’s Violet Box, so at least the shampoo and conditioner are new to me. The product promises to be packed jam full of vitamins and minerals good for the skin and hair, so I look forward to trying out these products.

Lonvitalite 24K Active Golden Yulan Oil Facial Mask and 24K Active Gold Eye Mask – One Mask of eac
h (RRP: $9.95/each)

I said this last month, and sadly will say it again, but unfortunately Lonvitalite face masks seems to be popping up in every single type of subscription box these days, so they really don’t excite me that much – I do love these masks from Lonvitalite, and hence they won’t go to waste, but I would have preferred to see a product from a brand that was new to me.

Nuxe Reve de Miel Hand and Nail Cream – Sample, 15ml (RRP: $19.95/75ml)

Boxes either came with the hand cream or the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse, but ) as I’ve previously tried the oil (as it has been popping up in beauty subscription boxes previously) I’m quite happy that I get to try out the hand cream plus the small tube is the perfect size to pop into the handbag when you’re on the go.

Hola Seaweed Moisturising Repair Cream – Full Size ($24.95/50g)

Boxes come with one of several different products from Hola, including cleansers, toners, masks, eye cream or moisturisers, ranging in value from $17.95 to $24.95, and well, I got the Seaweed Moisturising Cream. I’ve never heard of this brand before so would love to try out this local Victorian brand. However, the moisturiser that I got is supposed to be super rich and intended for very dry skin, so unfortunately not the ideal match for my combo skin – so I might have to pass this one on to a friend.

So there you go, the contents in the May Lust Have It box. It contains a total of 8 products, of which four were full-sized, three were deluxe samples and two were mini samples.

There was a good variety of products including makeup, haircare, bodycare and skincare, with something for everyone.

In terms of value, just the Hola moisturiser on its own is more expensive than the cost of the box, and to that you can add the Bloom foundation stick and the Lonvitalite masks, so this month it really is value for money.

In spite of not being able to use the Hola moisturiser, I still feel that this months box is pretty good, and certainly exceed those of past months. Well done Lust Have It, I cannot wait to see what you’ve got in store for
next month!

PRODUCT REVIEW: NUXE HUILE PRODIGIEUSE

The Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse is one of those products that have attracted a cult following around the world, so when I was given the opportunity to trial this multi-purpose oil, I happily accepted, here are my thoughts;

What They Say:

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse is a multi-use dry oil that can be used on skin and hair to nourish and repair. It can also be used to soften the skin and help reduce stretch marks. It has been formulated with six precious plant oils, such as macadamia, hazelnut, borage, sweet almond, camellia and St John’s wort. Enriched with vitamin E and free of silicones, preservatives and mineral oils, the dry oil is easily absorbed leaving the skin soft and silky, and hair shiny and fragranced. It features the unique fragrance of huile prodigieuse, a sweet scent. It is formulated with 97.8 per cent of naturally originated ingredients.

RRP: $26.95 (50ml), $42.99 (100ml)

What I Say:

This Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse is a dry oil, and one of the most famous products from Nuxe. It is made from a unique super activated formula that combines 30% plant oils and vitamin E to nourish, repair and soften face, body and hair. It contains a blend of 6 plant oils, borage, St Johns wort, sweet almond, camellia, hazelnut, and macadamia, which gives it its unique and beautiful subtle fragrance, which is slightly sweet yet spicy at the same time. And it is literally a multi-tasking product of the best, as it can be used on both face and body, as well as in the hair.

Nuxe also recommend trying to mix a few drops of the oil into your foundation for a more smooth result, or pouring a few drops into the bath for a relaxing treatment.

With combination skin, I am not overly fond of using oils on my face, as I feel it makes my skin feel greasier, so I prefer to use this on my body. I use it after my shower while my skin is still warm and damp, and it absorbs instantly, leaving the skin feel so silky soft and smooth, and with a nice sheen. And there is no greasiness in sight, so no need to worry that it will mark or stain your clothes. And being pregnant, I also love to massage the oil onto my growing tummy, to prevent stretchmarks (I was lucky to get through my first pregnancy without any stretchmarks, and hoping to do the same this time around!), and help the annoying itchy skin. And I love that it is so natural that I know its safe for me to use during this time.

I have also tried to use it in my dry hair and it immediately tames frizz, and gives my hair a much needed moisture boost, leaving it looking healthy and glossy, and without weighing it down.

And regardless if used on the body or in the hair, the oil is very concentrated, so it only takes a little, and gorgeous fragrance lingers around for most of the day.

The Oil comes in a gorgeous square glass bottle with a gold lid, and the small dropper in the opening of the bottle, makes it easy to get just the amount of oil you need without wastage.

I love the fact that the oil is so natural, made from 97.8% natural ingredients and that it is preservative free.

This is such a lovely oil, and now I understand why it is so popular around the world, I’m now officially in love too, I can definitely see myself repurchasing this oil, and it becoming a bathroom staple, as well as I’m pretty keen on putting other products from Nuxe to the test!

11 November 2014

PRODUCT REVIEW: LUST HAVE IT OCTOBER 2014

On Friday the 7th November my Lust Have It October Box arrived. A week well into November. I thought the boxes were intended to be out my the middle of the relevant month, and not some two to three weeks later – and well, if that is the intention, it really means that the November box should arrive at my door step within the next week to 10 days…. Somehow I doubt it, but time will tell. Personally I cannot actually complain too much as the boxes are sent to me for consideration, but if I was a paying subscriber I would certainly not be happy – but still, I as I always try to be as honest as possible with my reviews, and the service is a major part of the beauty subscription boxes, I just had to make my comment regardless! Anyway, here are my thoughts on the October Lust Have it Box*;

What They Say:

Available from Lust Have It

What I Say:

As per previous months, this month the goodies again arrived in a pink see-through mesh bag. Last months box/bag unfortunately didn’t contain the info card, but luckily this month’s box did, which is great as I find them very helpful. Anyway, these are the products in bag;

Montaigne Jeunesse Glacial Clay Spa Mask - Full Sized (RRP: $4.99)

I have tried quite a few of these face masks and generally really like them, so certainly no complaints about the inclusion of this one. And as I have only tried their standard mud masks, I do look forward to trying out this cloth mask that has been infused with clay.

Colour by TBN lipstick in ‘A Kiss is Still A Kiss’ – Full Sized (RRP: $3.50)

When I first saw this lipstick I thought it was one from Maybelline!! But rather is a more budget brand costing just $3.50 – and that said, sorry, but it doesn’t really excite me that much. The colour, though, is a lovely dusty brownish rose shade, which is quite wearable.

Glamourflage Eye Mask – Full Sized (RRP: $7.95)

This is a sleep eye mask with a leopard print. Quite cute, but to be honest I don’t really know what to do with it as I never use an eye mask.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse – Sample Size, 10ml (RRP: $24.95/50ml)

I already have a full sized bottle of this oil, and have used up a couple of bottles before that, which proves that I really like this body oil that both nourishes dry skin and helps with stretchmarks, all while smelling amazing. So getting the sample is certainly a bonus, and it is a rather cute sized one too. Wish I had had this when I when I recently went to Europe!

So Susan Intense Eye Shadow - Full sized (RRP: $35)

This compact contains four grey/blue/purplish shades and is quite lovely, but sadly I am not really that fond of using those shades, I am a more conservative nude kind of girl, so it is a little wasted. However, it is a gorgeous palette, and I am sure I have a friend who will be absolute ecstatic if I pass it on to her.

Inika Organic Black Kohl Pencil with sharpener - Full Sized (RRP: $29)

I always use either a black or a dark brown eyeliner, so this is a great addition, plus I haven’t really tried that many products from the brand Inika, so I do like that too. In saying that, and now this may just be me being a little harsh, but I find that eyeliners is one of those staple makeup items that sadly it doesn’t really excite me, regardless of how great the brand it is! I would have been more excited to see any other makeup product from the brand. But again, using eyeliner every day, it still definitely won’t go to waste, plus I do really like that it has the in-built sharpener in the lid.

So there you go, the contents in the October box. Unfortunately, like last month, I am sadly not extremely impressed, although it is definitely an improvement over last month – and I guess the reason why I am not overly impressed is more down to personal makeup colour preferences, so as mentioned previously, if Lust Have It could manage to custom make their boxes, it would be so much more likely to impress. So that said, I am sure that there are others who find these products to be their perfect matches. The products in the box do have a combined value of over $85, so in that respect it is value for money. I hope the November box ticks a few more boxes for me, and hopefully it will actually arrive in the month of November!!

5 July 2014

PRODUCT REVIEW: LUST HAVE IT JUNE 2014

The other day the *Lust Have It June box arrived at my door step, here are my thoughts;

What They Say:

Available from Lust Have It

What I Say:
Like last month’s box the June goodie arrived in a clear makeup bag, and this is what was in the June Lust Have It Box..

Teeez Trendy Cosmetics Head over Heels Nail Lacquer – Full Size (RRP: $18/7ml)

The boxes this month come with either the nail polish or an eye pencil, but as I’ve got plenty black eye liners, I am happy with this nail polish in the colour Atomic Dragonfly which is a metallic dark navy blue with a high gloss finish. I haven’t got that colour in my collection, so it is a nice addition.

John Plunkett Glyco Peel - Full Size (RRP: $29.95/15ml)

I have already tried this peel (see my review here), but as I really like, and have literally just finished it up and considered buying a new one, this couldn’t have been better timing. Of course it would have been nice with another product new to me, but on the other hand, my purse is thanking me for not having go buy a new one.

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo – Sample, 3ml – (RRP: $27.95/40ml)

This is another product that I’ve already tried (see my review here), and while I really like this, and use it when my skin is playing up and breaking out, again, there was no real excitement when I saw this product. But in saying that the small tube will be handy to take with me when I hopefully go overseas a little later in the year..

Orly Nail File – Full Size (RRP: $1.65) and Orly Toe Separators Full Size (RRP: $4.95)

These nail files and toe separators are always handy to have at hand – and even more so right now that I’ve just moved house and haven’t yet managed to locate all my ‘necessities’.

Nuxe Creme Nirvanesque and Nuxe Creme Nirvanesque Eye Contour – Samples, 2ml each (RRP: $49.95/50ml and $44.95/15ml)
.

These products are intended for men and women under the age of 40 who are starting to see the first expression lines….so unfortunately however much I hate to admit it, but I am a tad too old for these products!! In saying that, I do look forward to testing them out, especially the eye cream which promises to help reduce dark circles under the eyes.

Hello Fresh - $30 Voucher

These Hello Fresh vouchers have been floating around a lot in different boxes and I have a few already, and as you can only use one per household, unfortunately I cannot use them all. But in saying that, this particular voucher will be the ONE I will be using, as I’ve just moved house and have no idea yet where I’ve got the other ones, but once I find them, I will be sure to pass them onto some friends. The concept is fantastic as Hello Fresh basically gives you the recipes and delivers all the necessary ingredients right to your door. So a fantastic way of trying something new for dinner, and with no shopping! How good is that!

So there you have it, these are the goodies in the June Lust Have It Box, and I am quite happy with the contents, but have to admit that I am not as impressed as I was with the May box.

In terms of value, as I was going to repurchase the John Plunkett Glyco Peel, which has a value of $29.95, it is certainly worthwhile, and all the other products are just a bonus. I will enjoy using the Teeez nail polish, and the Orly nail accessories will also be handy, and the cream samples from La Roche Posay and Nuxe certainly won’t go astray either.
*This product was kindly provided for consideration, and it has been reviewed in accordance with my Disclosure Policy.

If you are considering subscribing, don’t forget that you can get $5 off your first box by using the unique code LIFESTYLE at the checkout on the Lush Have It website.

PRODUCT REVIEW: VIOLET BOX MAY 2014

Another month gone, and it is now just a few days away from officially being winter – and it is yet again time for a beauty box review. Here are my thoughts on the *May Violet Box;

What They Say:
Violet Box brands promises to every month include 4-6 premium beauty and lifestyle samples from well-known and trusted Australian beauty brands as well as exciting new International brands, one in particular is a revolutionary product currently trending in New York and has been featured in Vogue and on the Today Show!

RRP: You can subscribe to Violet Box for:
1 month – $22.95
3 months - $66.00
6 months - $130
12 months - $250
- Available from Violet Box

What I Say:
As always, the Violet box has arrived in the usual stylish black matte box, and this is what was in it;

As per the sneak peak in last month’s Box, the May box included a Goldwell StyleSign Sleek Perfection….

Goldwell StyleSign Sleek Perfection – Sample 20ml (RRP: Full size $24.95)

This is a thermal spray to protect the hair from hot styling tools, and which is humidity resistant for up to 24 hours to maintain silky straight hair. This sounds pretty good to me, although I have to admit that I rarely have time to straighten my long hair these days. But it is handy to have at hand for those times when it does happen, and the small size is perfect for travelling and weekends away.

LUSH Popcorn Lip Scrub – Full size ($9.95/25g)

I have actually never tried a lip scrub before, usually using my usual face scrub, so I am excited to try this one from Lush. It contains coconut and jojoba oils, as well as sugar, sea salt and polenta to leave the lips soft and moisturised. I am not the greatest fan of coconut scented products, but luckily the coconut scent is not too strong in this product, so I look forward to testing this one out!

Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter Pencil – Full Size (RRP: $24.95)

I have never heard of Chella before, so I love the inclusion of this one. The pencil can be used to highlight, conceal and brighten the brow and eye area, and is perfect for applying on the brow bone, and dark circles, blemishes and red spots, so this is a fantastic multi-tasking pencil. The pale skin toned product is soft and creamy, and easy to use, so I am very excited about this one and cannot wait to put it to the test.

Eve’s Ready to wear Lipstick by Teeez – Full Size (RRP: 32.00)

Last month in the April Violet box there was a Teeez nail polish included, and that was the first I’d ever heard of Teeez, and as I’ve loved the nail polish, I love the addition of this lipstick this month. It claims to nourish, hydrate and repair cracked and dry lips, and has a pale nude pinky shade, that is so lovely. And it comes in such a cute packaging, and it smells divine too. I love it!

Timeless Truth Miracle Rejuvenation Mask (Lifting Mask) – Full Size (RRP: $7.00)

This cloth mask claims to be an intensive skin refining mask to bring back a fresh, pure look and feel of younger skin, rejuvenating dull and lifeless skin, leaving it looking radiant and even toned. IT also helps improve the appearance of age spots, fine lines and wrinkles. How amazing does that sound, and I cannot wait to use it, it is just what my skin needs – now just need to find the 15-20 minutes where I can lie down and relax while it works its magic!

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse – Sample sachet, 4ml – (RRP: $24.95/50ml, $39.95/100ml)
I love this oil which can be used on the face, body and in the hair, and already have a full sized bottle – this also means that I am not extremely excited about this one – but in saying that, it has only been a few months since I bought the bottle, and before that, the product was high on my wish list, so it is just bad timing. And as it is such a fantastic product, I certainly don’t mind the inclusion, as it will definitely be put to good use.

Nuxe Crème Merveillance – Sample sachet, 2ml – (RRP: $64.95/50ml)
Now this cream excited me a whole lot more as I’ve wanted to try more products from Nuxe, but sadly this is intended for dry skin, so I am not so sure how it will go on my combination skin – but in saying that, my skin is always getting a little drier as we head towards winter, so I will certainly be testing it out.

Finally, there is also a teaser for the June box, which will be including a ghd Straight & Tame Cream – sounds pretty good to me!

I am impressed. Month after month Violet Box manages to maintain – or I would go as far as to say continuously improve the fantastic value of the boxes, as well a great variety of products. This month saw the inclusion of a whole four full sized products, and three great samples – all of which I will enjoy trying and using. And I also love the variety of the products, from face and body care, lip product, makeup and hair – there really is something for everyone! With just the full sized products, the box has a value of $71, and again, add to that the three samples. How great is that.

Well done Violet Box!
*Product was kindly provided for consideration, and has reviewed in accordance with my Disclosure Policy.

What do you think of the products of this month’s Violet Box? Did you get this months’ box too? What did you think? And if not, would you consider subscribing?

Product Review: Violet Box February 2014

Another month has gone by, and yesterday, the 25th February, the February Violet Box arrived at my door step – so a little while ago, but as we are still waiting to get internet connected in our new house and only have extremely limited internet access, So I struggle both writing and posting new posts on my blog, so I have been relying on posts I had made in advance and scheduled to go live in this period. So when you see this, it has actually been a little while since I received the box, but anyway, here are my thoughts on the *February edition of the Violet Box;

What I Say:
Violet Box yet again arrived in a narrower sized black matte box, with the magnetic closure and a purple ribbon, and this is what was in the February Violet Box…

Red Carpet Kolour – Sample Sachets x 2 (RRP: $ 49.95/150ml)

At first glance I thought this was a self-tanner, but it is not. It is a body lotion that gives your skin coverage for imperfections, such as pigmentation, veins, age spots and wrinkles, without transferring onto your clothes. Available in light, medium and tan, this is basically a foundation for the body. With a baby, I hardly have time enough to do the makeup on my face, so honestly I doubt that this is something I’d make use of on a daily basis. But in saying that, I do have some pretty ugly veins on my legs, which were made worse during my pregnancy, so for special occasions this would be the perfect solution.

Nuxe Crème Nirvanesque – Sample 15ml (RRP: $49.95/50ml)

I only recently tried some products from Nuxe (you can see me review here), and so loved them, so I was happy to see the inclusion of this cream. It promises to smooth, de-stress and relax first expression lines and is made from 80% natural ingredients. I do have an expression line between my brows that I am not too fond of, so I look forward to testing this one out, and I love seeing that it is suitable for all skin types, so it shouldn’t cause any issues for my combination skin.

Be a Bombshell The One Stick – Full Size (RRP: $21/7.3g)

I love the sound of this all-in-one stick which can be used on the eyes, cheeks and lips. A true multi-tasking product. I got the colour Girl Crush, which is a lovely pale pink shade with just a touch of simmer. I love the fact that this is a full sized product and I can’t wait to test it out.

WotNot Facial Wipes – Sample pack/5 wipes (RRP: $7.95/25 wipes)
I have mentioned this several times, but unless I fly overseas on long-haul flights, I am not a regular user of facial wipes. To remove my makeup I simply prefer to use foaming face washes so I can splash my face with water. And these wipes have been included in, I believe, several beauty subscription boxes previously, so the novelty factor has now worn off, and really doesn’t excite me that much. Having said that, I do like the WotNot wipes, especially the baby wipes that I often use on my little boy, as I like that they are natural and organic.

The box also included a card with details of how to get pack of the newly launched facial wipes for oily/sensitive skin for free, which is a great bonus.

Aphelia Oasis Acne Solution – Sample Size 2ml (RRP: $49/50ml)
I have previously tried some products, and they are amazing. If you’ve missed them, check out my reviews for the amazing hand cream and fantastic Peony eye cream). I have always suffered with breakouts, and always trying to find products that actually will work when I get that nasty pimple, so I love the inclusion of this acne cream, as it is made from herbs, and is gentle, yet promises to be fast acting – so sounds pretty promising. In saying that, the inclusion of an acne product may not be suitable for all subscribers, but personally I am very happy about it.

Be A Bombshell Lip Crayon – Full Size (RRP: $19/2.5g)

Another full sized product, how great is that. This lip crayon is said to be able to go on from sheer to full coverage. There were two options, Trophy White and Some Beach, and I got the Some Beach, which is a coral colour with a touch of shimmer. I haven’t got a lot of coral lip products, so I love the inclusion of this, and can’t wait to try it out.

Finally, the box also included a cute heart shaped lolly, won’t stay untouched for long. Such a sweet inclusion, literally!!

So there you have it, the contents of the February Violet Box. And yet again, Violet Box has impressed me with two full sized products and four samples. The inclusion of the two full sized Be A Bombshell products makes the box well worth its cost, and add to that the generous size of the Nuxe cream, and also the Acne cream from Aphelia, all of which I will look forward to testing out.

And as per previous months, if I have to be negative, it would be that there are two products included from the Be A Bombshell brand, and while I love both of these full sized products, I would personally have preferred just one of these products and have the second product replaced with another full sized product from another brand that is new to me. But again, that is just me being fussy, as what really matters is the value of the box both in terms of money, but also if you are actually going to use the products, and on both levels, this month’s Violet Box is  extremely good value.

So all in all, I am very impressed with this month’s box – yet again, well done Violet Box, keep up the good work!!
