PRODUCT REVIEW: LUST HAVE IT DECEMBER 2015

The December Lust Have It Box had announced that the December boxes would be a tad late this month due to some accident of one of the suppliers, and consequently mine didn’t arrive until today, the 4th January.

I appreciate that unplanned things do happen, but on the other hand, I feel that these delays happen a little too often, and I would have loved to see Lust Have It be on the forefront of these, and maybe be a month ahead with the planning of the boxes so they’d always arrive on time, and they’d have products to fall back on if necessary. That would no doubt win lots of bonus points with subscribers!

Anyway, these are the products in the December box;

What They Say
Lust Have It boxes regularly contains products worth $60+ for only $19.95/month! Monthly box filled with 5 to 6 premium beauty samples. Delivered to your home or work each month for you to try.

RRP: Lust Have It Box (monthly) RRP: $19.95, Eco Box (quarterly) RRP: $29.95 – but if you use my unique code LIFESTYLE at the checkout on the Lush Have It website, you are eligible for $5 off your first box from Lust Have It, and at the same time you’ll also be supporting Beauty & Lifestyle Hunter, as I will get a few dollars too if someone subscribes using this code. Available from Lust Have It

What I Say:

As what seems to be standard now for Lust Have It, this months’ products arrived in a pink mesh bag, which contained 5 products, of which four were full sized.

Essenzza Fuss Free Naturals Micellar Mini Wipes – Mini Pack/8 mini wipes (RRP: $2.25)
First up, I am not a huge user of facial wipes, and predominantly use them when I am swatching products for the blog, or that once a year when I go overseas, and find them handy to have in my hand luggage. I am simply just preferring to splash water in my face and always find I get a better clean with a regular face washer, something that is necessary with a combination skin prone to breakouts! However, these wipes are for eye makeup, and removes even waterproof mascara. Now that is something that I could get used to using on a regular basis, so I’ll be keen to put these to the test tonight.

Naobay Moisturising Peeling Brightening Facial Milk Scrub – Full Size (RRP: $27/100ml)
I have never heard of this brand before, and so I am very excited about the inclusion of this cleanser. It contains natural peeling particles from the acai palm tree along with olive oil, shea butter, sweet almond oil, gotu kola extract to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and soothe the skin after the peel. Again, look very forward to try this one out!

Sasy N Savy Hand Cream – Full Size (RRP: $15-20/40ml)
Addicted to hand crams, I always carry one with me, have one in the car, in the kitchen, bathroom, bedside table… so always looking for a good one, so this one certainly won’t go to waste. The included hand cream varied from box to box. I did notice that a citrus one was also an option, and with citrus my favourite scent I would obviously have preferred that one, but I got the Orchid from Paradise which does smell divine, so no complaints there.

Be A Bombshell Eye Shadow Quad – Full Size (RRP: $22)
I’ve tried quite a few products from the brand by now, all from inclusion in the box, but I have enjoyed by far the majority of these, so love to see an eye shadow included. According to the info card, there were two colour combinations available, one with grey and purple shades and one with brown and green shades – I would have preferred the brownish shades as I’d use those more, but then again I’ve already got heaps of those, so a little grey is probably a good thing!

Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter Pencil – Full Size (RRP: $24.50)
This is a crayon pencil designed to be used as a highlighter, as well as used to cover dark circle, blemishes and dark spots. I like the crayon style pen, but have actually tried this one before from some subscription box at some stage, but I can’t find it, so not too fussed about getting a new one, although the novelty factor is of course never as high the second time around.

So there you go, the contents in the December Lust Have It box. I like the variety of this box, with two makeup items, two cleansers, and the hand cream. I also fairly pleased with all the products, and will certainly try and use all, but I’m most excited about the Naobay Peeling Scrub.

In terms value, the products have a combined value of over $90, so you cannot complain about that. And as this box really should have arrived last year, it really isn't a bad finish to the year. Look forward to seeing what Lust Have It has in store for 2016!

PRODUCT REVIEW: VIOLET BOX JUNE 2014

Time of the month again for the arrival of the beauty boxes – and here are my thought son the *June Violet Box;

What They Say:
Violet Box brands promises to every month include 4-6 premium beauty and lifestyle samples from well-known and trusted Australian beauty brands as well as exciting new International brands, one in particular is a revolutionary product currently trending in New York and has been featured in Vogue and on the Today Show!

RRP: You can subscribe to Violet Box for:
1 month – $22.95
3 months - $66.00
6 months - $130
12 months - $250
- Available from Violet Box

What I Say:

This month the Violet box didn't arrive in its usual black matte box, - but in stead it came in a little makeup bag – and as I by now have a whole heap of the empty beauty boxes that I am using for storage of other items, and actually was in desperate need of a new makeup bag, I really applaud this.

Caddy's Cosmetic Pouch – Full Size (RRP: $26)

The makeup bag has a fantastic size, and lots of zippers and compartments so it is so easy to store and separate even the smallest of items. I got a nude toned one with pink, grey and red dots on it, and it is so cute. I love it!

And this is what was in it;

ghd Straight and Tame Cream – Full Size (RRP: $24.00/120ml)

I already knew that this would be included as there was a teaser in last month’s box about it. This is to help tame your hair from frizz and make it even straighter, while protecting your hair from heat damage. I have to be very honest and admit that I very rarely straighten my hair, let alone use the hair drier – it simply dries naturally, even though it means that it is not straight and I have frizzy hair, but with a baby, I simply haven’t got the time at the moment. But regardless, it will be handy to have at hand, for special occasions.

Appelles Blackseed Shampoo and Tamanu Conditioner - Sample Sizes, 60ml each – (RRP: $18.95/150ml each)

I have never before tried any products from Appelles, so I am quite excited about the inclusion of these. The products smell lovely from the sandalwood and lavender essential oils used in the products, and are supposed to help strengthen the hair and fortify against dry and split ends – just what my hair needs, so I cannot wait to put these to the test. And the samples have a decent size so I will be able to try them a few times before casting my verdict.

Strange Beautiful Nail Polish – Full Sized  - RRP:?

This is a very cute two in one nail polish that includes a bright red shade and a dusty pink shade. Both shades are really lovely and very wearable, and as I’ve never heard of Strange Beautiful Nail Polishes before, I look forward to putting them to the test.

Bioderma Sebium Pore Refiner – Sample Size 15ml (RRP:
$30.95/30ml)

Lately beauty boxes all seem to include Bioderma, but as I am still new to Bioderma and I’ve like what I’ve tried so far, I don’t mind the inclusion of this so I can try out some more of their products. This is a silicone based primer that contains, and it is supposed to be designed for oil skin to help minimise pores on especially nose, chin and forehead. This sounds absolutely perfect for my combination skin, so I am very excited about this one, and hope that it will make my skin look shine-free all day too!

Chella Brow Pencil in light brown – Full Size ($21.50)

This is supposedly a light brown pencil, but I do find that it is quite dark – but luckily it does suit my brows – unfortunately, my brows are the first thing I skip when I am in a hurry, so it is very rare that I use brow products, but in saying that, I do know what an amazing difference it makes, so I will definitely be giving this a go the next time I’ve got a few spare minutes to do my makeup.

So there you go, this was the contents in the June Violet Box. And yet again Violet Box has managed to impress me. Actually, I am amazed at how you just keep doing it so well month after month, with each box outperforming the previous month’s.

This month includes a fantastic variety of skincare, hair, nail, and makeup products, so there is something for everyone, and even better, there is also a mix of brand, including all except for ghd and Bioderma that are new to me. Thanks to the makeup bag, this month’s ‘box’ has a massive value, so definitely well worth the $22.95 it cost. My only negative about this month’s box, is that it did not include the usual card with product descriptions and values of the products (so please take the above listed prices with a grain of salt!), and I don’t know if this is general, or just an oversight in my box. And while I do not need to get the value of the products specified to see that this month is fantastic value, it is nice to have the product descriptions at hand.

Well done Violet Box – and yet again congratulations on your first year- you have gone from strength to strength, and I am already looking forward to seeing what you have planned for next month.

PRODUCT REVIEW: VIOLET BOX MAY 2014

Another month gone, and it is now just a few days away from officially being winter – and it is yet again time for a beauty box review. Here are my thoughts on the *May Violet Box;

What I Say:
As always, the Violet box has arrived in the usual stylish black matte box, and this is what was in it;

As per the sneak peak in last month’s Box, the May box included a Goldwell StyleSign Sleek Perfection….

Goldwell StyleSign Sleek Perfection – Sample 20ml (RRP: Full size $24.95)

This is a thermal spray to protect the hair from hot styling tools, and which is humidity resistant for up to 24 hours to maintain silky straight hair. This sounds pretty good to me, although I have to admit that I rarely have time to straighten my long hair these days. But it is handy to have at hand for those times when it does happen, and the small size is perfect for travelling and weekends away.

LUSH Popcorn Lip Scrub – Full size ($9.95/25g)

I have actually never tried a lip scrub before, usually using my usual face scrub, so I am excited to try this one from Lush. It contains coconut and jojoba oils, as well as sugar, sea salt and polenta to leave the lips soft and moisturised. I am not the greatest fan of coconut scented products, but luckily the coconut scent is not too strong in this product, so I look forward to testing this one out!

Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter Pencil – Full Size (RRP: $24.95)

I have never heard of Chella before, so I love the inclusion of this one. The pencil can be used to highlight, conceal and brighten the brow and eye area, and is perfect for applying on the brow bone, and dark circles, blemishes and red spots, so this is a fantastic multi-tasking pencil. The pale skin toned product is soft and creamy, and easy to use, so I am very excited about this one and cannot wait to put it to the test.

Eve’s Ready to wear Lipstick by Teeez – Full Size (RRP: 32.00)

Last month in the April Violet box there was a Teeez nail polish included, and that was the first I’d ever heard of Teeez, and as I’ve loved the nail polish, I love the addition of this lipstick this month. It claims to nourish, hydrate and repair cracked and dry lips, and has a pale nude pinky shade, that is so lovely. And it comes in such a cute packaging, and it smells divine too. I love it!

Timeless Truth Miracle Rejuvenation Mask (Lifting Mask) – Full Size (RRP: $7.00)

This cloth mask claims to be an intensive skin refining mask to bring back a fresh, pure look and feel of younger skin, rejuvenating dull and lifeless skin, leaving it looking radiant and even toned. IT also helps improve the appearance of age spots, fine lines and wrinkles. How amazing does that sound, and I cannot wait to use it, it is just what my skin needs – now just need to find the 15-20 minutes where I can lie down and relax while it works its magic!

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse – Sample sachet, 4ml – (RRP: $24.95/50ml, $39.95/100ml)
I love this oil which can be used on the face, body and in the hair, and already have a full sized bottle – this also means that I am not extremely excited about this one – but in saying that, it has only been a few months since I bought the bottle, and before that, the product was high on my wish list, so it is just bad timing. And as it is such a fantastic product, I certainly don’t mind the inclusion, as it will definitely be put to good use.

Nuxe Crème Merveillance – Sample sachet, 2ml – (RRP: $64.95/50ml)
Now this cream excited me a whole lot more as I’ve wanted to try more products from Nuxe, but sadly this is intended for dry skin, so I am not so sure how it will go on my combination skin – but in saying that, my skin is always getting a little drier as we head towards winter, so I will certainly be testing it out.

Finally, there is also a teaser for the June box, which will be including a ghd Straight & Tame Cream – sounds pretty good to me!

I am impressed. Month after month Violet Box manages to maintain – or I would go as far as to say continuously improve the fantastic value of the boxes, as well a great variety of products. This month saw the inclusion of a whole four full sized products, and three great samples – all of which I will enjoy trying and using. And I also love the variety of the products, from face and body care, lip product, makeup and hair – there really is something for everyone! With just the full sized products, the box has a value of $71, and again, add to that the three samples. How great is that.

Well done Violet Box!
