CHRISTMAS GIFT IDEAS FOR KIDS - BOOKS - J.K. ROWLING: THE CHRISTMAS PIG, F. PARELL: WANDI, S. BAYLY: ENCYCLOPEDIA OF PECULIAR PAIRS

Christmas is approaching fast. Its already a daily talk among out two little boys. Personally I refuse to pull out the Xmas decorations until we’ve officially hit 1st December. But that doesn’t mean that it is not on my mind. I’m not fond of crowds. Even during ‘good’ times, so I’ll do whatever I can to avoid the craziness of the shops this year, so have already started getting everything ready…

While our boys at the ages of 6 and 8, still want and get toys - We are always very mindful of also giving them both NEED, WEAR and READ.

Luckily the usually love it all!! Especially the books. And I love that my boys are book worms, and both very advanced readers. Here’s some great book gift ideas my boys are currently loving..

KIDS BOOK REVIEW: WHITEBEARD BY M.C.D ETHERIDGE

My big almost 6 year old only started prep at school at the beginning of this year, and he is so loving learning to read, recognising words, and cannot stop spelling words he sees, anywhere he goes. And as a mum, I really love that. He has such an appetite for learning and he so cannot wait till he can read full books.

BOOK REVIEW: PENELOPE'S PLAYGROUND BY PIXI AND ROXY JACENKO

My big boy has just started school, and at that age, more than ever, it is important that the children learn that it is ok to be different, and to accept and understand that. And the new book written by Roxy Jacenko and her daughter, Pixi Curtis, Penelope's Playground* is the perfect story book to read out to children, and help them understand how important it is to be kind to each other, regardless of how you look.
