PRODUCT REVIEW // PROTECTING YOUR KIDS BEDS FROM SPILLS AND BED WETTING WITH PROTECT-A-BED®

Not long ago, I talked about why a good nights sleep is so import to your health (you can see it here in case you missed it), but it is equally important that your sleeping environment is healthy, so I also recently talked about how my husband and I protect ourselves from allergens while we sleep and having a healthier sleeping environment (which you can read about here)

As we sleep, we perspire (on average a litre a day, yikes!) and shed skin cells (yikes again), and this is the perfect food for dust mites and cause of mould and bacteria to grow. And these nasties naturally not a great for good sleeping environment, as they can also contribute to allergens. To help with a better sleeping environment, it is thus important to regularly change your bedding, and a great option is a waterproof mattress and pillow protectors Protect-A-Bed® protects the mattress from these nasties.

But what about your little kids that are prone to bed wetting on top…? My two boys are, and always have been. From they were very little, they’d both wet through their nappies at night, in spite of trying out every single nappy brand on the market, they would wake drenched. Even putting two nappies on them wouldn’t make a difference. And yes, for me, frustrating having to wash their bedding and PJ’s daily, but what about their mattress…

The Protect-A-Bed® ’s range of Mattress and Pillow Protectors have a waterproof Miracle Layer™, and a TENCEL® sleep surface that is silky smooth, and so super soft and comfortable (you wouldn’t even know there’s a layer of plastic, and yes, its silent too!) and still breathable, letting in air vapour but protecting your mattress from any spills, including those from bed wetting toddlers, and thereby also protecting the mattress from any stains, and not to mention odours too.

My two boys have been loving the
Protect-A-Bed® TENCEL® Signature Series Mattress* and Pillow Protectors*. And not just because their bed is protected from ‘spills’ (do kids even care, I mean, they don’t do all the washing!!), but also because they both have very sensitive skin and always struggles with allergies and itches. The TENCEL® Signature Series is specially designed for people with sensitive skin, rhinitis, or eczema, as it wicks the moisture away from the skin.

The products are made from odourless wood based fibres, that is said to be ‘softer than silk, cooler than linen and more absorbent than cotton, staying cool in summer, and warm in winter. The mattress protector has the shape of a fitted sheet, so it stays put on the bed, and the selection of styles means that there is one for every bed size. And it is easy to maintain, as you can simply pop it into the washing machine and also tumble drier.

And don’t forget about your pillow. There is a reason they say to get a new pillow now and again, but protecting it with a Protect-A-Bed® Signature Series Pillow Protector. These pillow protectors also have the Miracle Layer™ and are also waterproof to protect your pillow from spills and stains, and thereby protecting it from dust mite, mould and bacteria allergens, yet it is still so soft and comfortable to sleep on, thanks the silky soft TENCEL® sleep surface.

The pillow protectors are made from wood-based fibre with a Cushion Cloud™ that make them feel very luxurious, while again being so silky soft, cool and very absorbent. The pillow protectors have a zipper closure and Breath-A-Vent®.

These protectors are not help with a better sleep environment for your kids, they also help protect mattress and pillow long term.
