L'OREAL PARIS INFALLIBLE PRO-GLO FOUNDATION AND INFALLIBLE PRIMERS // PRODUCT REVIEW

One of those drugstore brands I’ve always loved is L’Oreal Paris. Yes, their products are priced in the upper range for drug store brands, but I also find that their products not only always right right on trend are just that notch above in quality and very technologically advanced, so they are still great value products.

I’ve put a few of their newest launches to the test including the L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation, which is a super light long-wearing foundation that has been enriched with Vitamin E to keep the skin looking fresh throughout the day, while keeping the skin liking dewy glowing, In fact, it promises to wear for up to 24 hours, which is pretty massive, and these days, with two little kids, I’m certainly no longer out partying all night, but at the most wear makeup for 12 hours or so during the day, but even so, that my makeup stays put during this period is also important to me, as I simply rarely have time for touchups.

The foundation really is super light and needs a good shake before use. It promises a medium coverage, but I find that it goes on light, though you can build it up slightly to a medium coverage, but I still find that I am needing a good concealer for areas of pigmentation, blemishes and bags under my eyes. It is easy to apply, and while I like using a brush, I find it easiest with my fingers. But you have to work fast, or the light foundation will simply absorb into the skin.

It leaves the skin with a lovely natural glowing and radiant finish, yet without being too shimmery or shiny, something I appreciate as it can often make my combination skin look greasy or oily.

It has a good wear, and does manage to stay looking radiant and fresh on my skin throughout the day, without the use of a setting power. I did try to use a setting powder on top, but found it took away a bit of the radiance, which is such a shame.

The foundation is recommended for dry to normal to dry skin, but I am also finding that it works really well with my combination skin thanks to the light texture, which makes it feel almost invisible not the skin. It comes with SPF15, which is great, though I would have loved to see it have a SPF30+. But overall I really like this foundation as it gives my dull skin some much needed glow, yet looks so natural on the skin, so I know it’ll be my go-to for months to come.

L-R: Anti-Redness, Mattifying, Luminising

I then tried a few of the L’Oreal Primers, including the L’Oreal Paris Infallible Anti-Redness Primer, which corrects and neutralises redness on the skin for a more even complexion. This primer, comes in a tall light green pump bottle, and the primer literally has the same shade as the bottle. If you’re new to colour correcting primers, you may get a bit of a chock, but once you apply it to you’ll immediately fall in love with it, as it will leave your skin looking so much better, as those annoying things like broken caplilaries, and blemishes will also instantly seem so much less visible. It has a gorgeous light texture that is easy to apply and blend into the skin where needed, prior to foundation, and being primer, it also helps extend the wear of the foundation too.

Then there’s the L’Oreal Infallible Mattifying Primer, which as the name suggests contains mattifying particles to help neutralise shine and control oil to keep the skin looking matte. As someone with combination skin, I am so used to the dreaded mid-day shine, so I’ve really been enjoying this primer as it really does make such a difference in not only making my foundation stay put throughout the day, but also making it look so much nicer too, and without a touch of shine or grease. The light primer can be used both before your foundation, or if needed also on top, which I really like, especially on those super hot and humid days.

Finally, the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Luminising Primer. This primer also comes in a tall skinny pump bottle silver holographic design, and when I first pumped out a little, I did get a bit of a chock as it is very silvery and glittery, and I through that I would end up looking like an 80s disco ball. However, that is far from the case. The lightweight primer applies evenly across the skin, without any greasiness or stickiness, so you can apply your foundation on top immediately afterwards, and you’re left with a radiant healthy looking skin. The Luminising Primer can be used over the entire face or used to highlight areas such as cheeks and nose, and you can use it both under and over foundation, or even mixed into your foundation. I really love this primer, as just a tiny drop across my face make such a difference in making my skin look more radiant, and as a bonus, it helps my makeup stay put for longer too.

Common for the primers is that they are all so super light and feels virtually invisible on the skin. They apply so easy onto the skin, and leave a light film on top of the skin that still allows your skin to breathe, and make it easier to apply your foundation afterwards as they simply make it glide on, and not to mention make the makeup stay looking nicer for longer too. These primers really are incredible, and I actually love all of them, for their unique benefits and noticeable effect on my skin, so I have no doubt that I’ll repurchase again.
