PRODUCT REVIEW: LUST HAVE IT JULY 2014

The other day the *Lust Have It June box arrived at my door step, here are my thoughts;

What I Say:

Last month’s box arrived in a clear plastic makeup bag, and this month was quite similar only it was made from pink see-through mesh, which I also really like – I have a lot of the empty subscription boxes floating around that I keep for storage of things, but you only need so many, and this bag is perfect for storing things that you want to be able to see. It would for instance be perfect for jewellery if you are going away etc.

Anyway, this is July Lust Have It Box..

MARSK Mineral Eye Shadow in Black Comedy – Full Size (RRP: $24.95/1.2g)

I have never heard of MARSK Mineral Makeup before so as well as it being mineral makeup, I always get excited when I get to try a new brand. And of course don’t complain when I see a full sized product, and this one alone is with $24.95 worth more than the cost of the box! However, I am not that keen on loose mineral pigments, simply because I always make such a huge mess, and secondly I got a black shade, which I cannot see myself wearing. But it would be a shame to see this one go to waste so I will be passing it on to a friend so hopefully it will be loved!

La Mav Organic BB Cream – Full Size (RRP: $39.95/50ml)

I have tried a few other products from La Mav and really enjoyed them, so I was very happy to see the inclusion of this BB cream in this month’s box. The BB cream is supposed to have a good coverage, have anti-ageing and mattifying benefits, and provide sun protecting with its inbuilt SPF. Sounds pretty good to me. The shade is a one-shade fits all, and luckily it appears to be a good match to my skin tone.

From the looks of it, some of this months’ boxes were sent out with the La Mav BB Cream while others got a full sized Mary Kay Eye Makeup Remover. I have previously tried that eye makeup remover and quite like it, but still I am happy that I got the BB Cream from La Mav.

Ardell Self-adhesive Lashes – Full Size/one pair (RRP $9.99/one pair)

I don’t use false lashes. Ever. I have already got a fair stash of false lashes collecting dust, so these lashes are a complete waste for me. I will see if any of my friends are interested in these.

Designer Brands Nail Polish – Full Size (RRP $6.99/12ml)

I am not the biggest lover of glittery nail polishes, and this silver shimmery polish is no exception. And on top, I haven’t had the greatest experience with the Designer Brands polishes in terms of their quality. So all in all not so impressed with the inclusion of this nail polish.

Aveda Botanical Kinetics Purifying Gel Cleanser – Sample Size, 7ml (RRP $54.95/150ml)

There seems to have been quite a few Aveda samples included in subscription boxes lately, so the inclusion of this one really doesn’t excite me that much –although the gel cleanser is absolutely perfect for my skin type so I do look forward to trying it out, if that kind of makes sense! Also, I don’t know why, but Aveda have this thing of supplying the tiniest of tiny samples, so small that you can hardly get a feel for the products, and this cleanser is no exception as I’d be lucky to get two goes from this one.

Finally, there was also a little teaser included as the card read that next month is Lust Have It’s birthday month, so I am consequently expecting big things from that box..

But what were my overall thoughts on the July box. In terms of value, the box is worth well over the $19.95 – as a matter of fact, it is worth $80 – and even in spite of not being too excited with several of the items, the inclusion of the La Mav BB Cream worth $39.95 still makes it well worth it! But I have to admit that I am not as impressed with this month’s box as I have been with previous boxes.
