PRODUCT REVIEW: LUMINESCE CELLULAR REJUVENATION SERUM

If you are a regular reader of my blog, you would have seen my previous rave reviews of the Luminesce products, so I was excited when I was also asked to trial the Luminesce Cellular Rejuvenation Serum;

What They Say:
A rejuvenation product unlike any other. This silky serum has our highest percentage of growth factor complex to super-charge cell regeneration. Use it twice daily after cleansing and as a primer to our daily moisturising complex or advanced night repair.

RRP: $148.45 (30ml) – Available from Jeunesse Global

What I Say:

The Luminesce Cellular Rejuvenation Serum encourages your skin to replace dead, damaged skin cells with healthy ones. According to Luminesce, part of the natural ageing process also means that dermal fibroblast cells become dormant, your skin loses its natural elasticity and circulation lessens. The Cellular Rejuvenation Serum helps activate dermal fibroblast cells and works in tandem with your body’s natural processes to stimulate the production of more collagen, elastin and other matrix proteins that are important for renewing your skin.

In short, the serum promises to:
  • Replenish your skin's moisture levels
  • Delay the appearance of the ageing process
  • Increase firmness, elasticity and smoothness in the texture of your skin at the cellular level
  • Renew youthful luminosity to your ageing skin
  • Replenish your skin's natural stores of rejuvenation factors and proteins that can become depleted with age

Sounds just what my skin needs. I am sadly starting to see beginning lines, and my skin tone is more and more dull as pigmentation is getting worse by each passing summer. My skin is also plagued by scars and marks from past acne.

As recommended, I use the serum twice daily after cleansing and before my moisturiser – sometimes serums are sufficiently moisturising on my combination skin, but in this case, I do feel that I need to use a moisturiser too. Maybe also because it is not heading towards colder weather and my skin is generally getting drier. The serum has the consistency of a very light gel that spreads quickly and easily over the skin, and just one small  pump is sufficient to cover my whole face. And having combination skin, prone to breakouts, I really like the lightness of this gel, and I am also happy to say that it has not caused my skin to break out, which is sadly the case for many concentrated anti-ageing products.

And after using for a month, I really like the results that I am seeing. My skin simply looks so much healthier. It seems to be firmer and fine lines appear to have been blurred, and my skin doesn’t look so tired, it is more even and simply glowing. It looks better than it has for a long time. And I’m not quite sure, but my acne scars possibly do look slightly softened, but to be honest, these scars are decades old, so I doubt much will make a major difference – but in saying that, I do look forward to seeing what continued use of this serum will do, but to my !

The serum comes in a silver pump bottle with a clear lid, and it looks so luxurious that you’d want to keep it out on display on your vanity.

Unfortunately the serum is rather expensive at almost $150 for a small 15ml bottle – although it is so concentrated it will last you a few months. Worth the splurge, in my opinion, anything that will make your skin look more glowing and luminous, and like you’ve had a good night sleep, even though you haven’t (and been up all night again with a teething baby) and make your skin look younger as it is more even and less lined – well to me, that is well worth it!

Ever heard of Luminesce? How much are you willing to splurge when it comes to skincare? Do you splurge on some items and save on others?
