PRODUCT REVIEW: LANEIGE LIP SLEEPING MASK, COSRX COOLING AQUA FACIAL MIST AND JJ YOUNG BY CAOLION LAB PORE ERASING STICK FROM K-BEAUTY STORE STYLE STORY

I am relatively new to Korean Beauty products, or K-Beauty as they have also been dubbed, but there are so many brands popping up everywhere, and everyone is raving about the products, and the Koreans have been said to be on the forefront with advanced skincare, is no wonder, and thus it is also without a doubt one of my goals for the new year to explore more of these Korean brands. And not long ago I was so fortunate to be offered to try some out thanks to
Style Story  which is an Australian online store, specialising in all things K-Beauty.

I tried the following products;

  • COSRX Cooling Aqua Facial Mist
  • Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask
  • JJ Young by Caolion Lab Pore Erasing Stick

The COSRX Cooling Aqua Facial Mist is a facial mist designed to help freshen up the skin, making if feel cool, while purifying and hydrating it, to keep it soft and smooth.

The facial Mist contains among others Aloe Leaf to help sooth the skin and heal wounds, Madecassoside, an antioxidant that helps revitalise the skin, and Centella Asiatica Leaf Water to help promotes wound healing

The spray is has a super fine mist, and really feels so lovely on the skin, so it is perfect for using on a hot day to cool and calm the skin down, and if you feel your skin is a little dehydrated, it is a great way to keep it moisturised. And as it is so light and fine, it is still great for my combination skin, and doesn’t make it feel greasy, sticky or shiny. It can of course be used on bare skin, but I’ve also loved using it on top of my makeup, as it not only helps set it, it also gives my makeup such a gorgeous dewy look.

I love that it is also gentle on the skin thanks to being free from alcohol, parabens and sulfates.

The bottle is small, and perfect for popping into the handbag for use on the go to freshen up, and it would be perfect to bring on long haul flights too, if only the bottle was a tad smaller and would meet travel restrictions. Oh, and just how pretty is that green bottle!

Then there’s the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask, which has been all over my instagram feed for months, with everyone raving about it and its pretty pink jar, so I’ve been beyond excited putting this one to the test.

The Sleeping Mask is an intensive lip balm to be used over night. I t contains among others Moisture WrapTM, to help removes dead skin cells, and thus dry and flaky skin, as well as Berry Mix ComplexTM, made from eight types of berries – raspberry, strawberry, cranberry, blueberry, goji berry, soapberry, cloudberry, and coffee berry –, to infuse the lips with vitamin C, antioxidants and hyaluronic acid, for lips that are more supple and smoother, as well as plumper, firmer and more hydrated.

The balm can also be used throughout the day if you feel you need an extra moisture boost, as well as it is also fantastic to use under lipstick, especially those long wearing matte ones that can feel a little drying on the lips.

The balm comes with a little spatula for applying, but I admit to preferring to use my fingers. The pink balm has a gorgeous fresh and fruity berry scent, and a concentrated waxy consistency, which however liquifies with the warmth of your fingers, so it spreads easily onto the lips.

This really is lovely - I don’t tend to suffer with dry lips, and if I do, mostly during the colder winter months, but that said, I do love how this Laneige Sleeping Mask really is making my lips feel even softer and smoother, and thereby also appear plumper in the morning. When I use it at night, I also feel that my lipstick applies easier and looks better during the day. I am addicted, so this one will be having a permanent spot of my bedside table from now on.

Finally, there’s the JJ Young by Caolion Lab Pore Erasing Stick. This is quite a unique product and unlike anything I’ve ever tried before. The stick is made with among others rice and oat flour, charcoal, cacao, tea tree, lavender and eucalyptus, and it is designed to exfoliate the skin, dissolve and remove sebum, blackheads and whiteheads, and thus eliminate impurities, all while calming and soothing the skin.

The Pore Erasing Stick, is kind of like an exfoliating soap, but in a stick format, and it is therefore super easy to use, after cleansing the skin, you simply rub the stick onto the damp skin, focusing on the problem areas, for around 30 seconds, before rinsing it off. Personally I’ve been massaging it a little more in with my fingers too before rinsing it off.

I’ve been using it a few times a week, and have quite liked using it, and do overall feel that my clogged up pores on especially my nose and chin area, appear a little clearer, so I will definitely continue using it.

Overall, these are products really are great, and I love that they are not only relatively affordable, they are also all made without chemical preservatives, parabens and alcohol. The COSRX Cooling Aqua Facial Mist and the JJ Young by Caolion Lab Pore Erasing Stick are perfect for those of you who like me struggle with breakouts and congested skin, and the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask really is a beautiful balm that you’ll fall in love with instantly, while it looks pretty on your desk or bedside table.

My curiosity for K-Beauty has definitely now been sparked, and I am now keener than ever to explore more from these brands and the other many brands available from Style Story.
