PRODUCT REVIEW; ANDALOU NATURALS PUMPKIN HONEY GLYCOLIC BRIGHTENING MASK AND TUMERIC + C ENLIGHTEN SERUM

Recently I’ve heard a lot of hype about Andalou Naturals, as the products have recently become available in Australia through Priceline and Nourished Life. Andalou is a cruelty free American brand that uses a minimum of 98 per cent natural ingredients with the signature ingredient being Fruit Stem Cell Science with a potent antioxidant defence system in a targeted liposome delivery system. This blend of nature’s most potent bioactive stem cells from the Heirloom Apple, Grape, Swiss Alpine Rose and the Argan Tree deliver a specific action targeting our skin cells, supporting skin protection and radiance.

I’ve been excited putting a few of the Andalou products to the test, including the

  • Andalou Naturals Pumpkin Honey Glycolic Brightening Mask
  • Andalou Naturals Tumeric + C Enlighten Serum

The Andalou Naturals Pumpkin Honey Glycolic Brightening Mask is a face mask that contains fruit stem cells, vitamin C and glycolic AHA along with manuka honey and organic pumpkin, to help give the skin a gentle chemical exfoliation to resurface the skin, and sweep away dull and dead skin cells, and leave the skin smoother, and more even in tone, and with a more luminous glow.

The mask has a slightly odd scent and has a thick gel consistency and orange tinge, which is no surprise given the pumpkin contents. Once applied in thin layer on my clean skin, I immediately feel the tingle, which is a sign that the glycolic acid is working it’s magic. The mask doesn’t dry on the skin but remains a bit sticky, and once rinsed off after 10-15 minutes. The tingle does fade slightly and didn’t phase me or irritate my skin, but if you have sensitive skin it may not be for you.

Once rinsed off, my skin is left feeling so soft and smooth, and clearly refreshed and rejuvenated with a healthy flush. I also feel the mask is leaving my complexion more even and clarified, which is only intensified with regular use, so overall I’m really enjoying using it.

Then there’s the Andalou
Naturals Tumeric + C Enlighten Serum that helps target over-exposed surface cells for a lighter, tighter, brighter looking appearance and a more luminous complexion. It is made using with a fruit stem cell complex, turmeric, vitamin C and skin-friendly magnesium and ascorbyl phosphate to help support dermal vitality.

The serum is super light, and works perfectly with my combination skin, as it absorbs instantly and without any grease. And it smells absolutely amazing, just like fresh oranges. After having used it for a few weeks in the morning, after cleansing my skin, and before my usual moisturiser, I am definitely impressed, as I feel I see my skin looking more even and brighter too. I actually also feel that it is helping to make my skin clearer in terms of breakouts, but it also has antiseptic and anti inflammatory benefits to help reduce scars and promote healing of the skin, thanks to the added turmeric.

I also love the bright orange bottle, and the fact that it comes in an easy to use pump bottle. It is also quite concentrated and spreads easily, so I find that a small pump is sufficient to cover my full face. I don’t find it hydrating on my skin, as such, but it is also not a claim from the brand, so I don’t mind, plus I’d also always use a moisturiser on top anyway.

Overall I am really impressed with these products from Andalou
Naturals, as combined they leave my skin looking healthier and more radiant too. They are very affordable too, especially considering the high quality of the products and how effective they really are, so I will definitely consider repurchasing, as well as I’d love to explore more products from their huge product range.
