Product Review: Aveeno Active Naturals Positively Radiant Daily Moisturiser

Having combination skin often prone to breakout, it can be tricky finding the right moisturiser. One that it not too greasy, while at the same time giving my skin sufficient moisture. Here are my thoughts on the *Aveeno Active Naturals Positively Radiant Daily Moisturiser;

What They Say:

"Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturiser with SPF 15 is clinically proven to even out the skin tone. To be used as a daily moisturiser this product works to improve the skin texture to leave skin soft and smooth".

RRP:
$19.95 (75ml) - Available from Priceline, and select pharmacies

What I Say:

Every time I start using a new moisturiser, I am a little worried about how my skin will react. If my skin doesn’t like a cream, it usually only takes a few days before my skin starts to be a little congested and small breakouts starts to appear.

However, as I am loving using the Aveeno Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturiser (you can see my review of it
here), and the Positively Radiant Cleanser (you can see my review here), I also had big hopes for the Aveeno Active Naturals Positively Radiant Daily Moisturiser.

The actual moisturiser comes in a simple cream coloured bottle with a pale green pump. I really like that it comes with a pump, as it makes it easy to dispense just the amount of moisturiser you need, but it is also more hygienic than having to dip your fingers into a jar. I guess the only disadvantage can be that it can be difficult to completely empty the cream, and not to mention, it is impossible to how much cream is left in the bottle.

The Moisturiser has the exact same scent as the tinted moisturiser; a lovely, yet subtle floral scent, which I really like. Once the cream has been absorbed into the skin, this scent quickly fades.

The moisturiser contains Total Soy Complex and Natural Light Diffusers to naturally even out the skin tone and immediately reflect light to bring out the skin’s natural radiance. And I love the fact that it has SPF15.

Because my skin is usually greasy enough, I don’t usually need a lot of moisturiser, so just two small pumps is more than sufficient for my face and neck as well. The cream is very light and absorbs quickly into the skin, and it leaves my skin feeling soft, and thoroughly moisturised, and without any greasy residue. It contains some tiny shimmer particles, which leaves the skin looking radiant too, yet without making it look too glittery.

It works perfectly under makeup, although the radiant look does seem to disappear, with the shimmer particles being covered by foundation.

The moisturiser claims to brighten and even skin tone, but I must admit that I have not noticed any permanent difference to my skin tone or texture, or any reduction of brown spots and dullness of my skin. In saying that, my skin does feel thoroughly moisturised, and is consequently looking healthy. And it has not made my skin feel congested or made my skin breakout.

At $19.95 for a large 75ml bottle, I find that it is quite good value. It is suitable for all skin types, but I am not sure that seeing it worked well with my combination skin, that it would give sufficient moisture to dry skin types.
