PRODUCT REVIEW: BEAN BODY COCONUT COFFEE SCRUB

Coffee Scrubs are all the rave at the moment, and as a coffee lover, I have naturally jumped on on board too, and love not only the gorgeous coffee scent, and what they do to my skin. So when a pack of Bean Body Coffee Scrub landed on my desk, I couldn't wait to try.. 

Bean Body Coffee Scrub, is an Australian brand, who believes that we should all feel beautiful inside and out - and note that while they are Australian, they do have offices overseas too, and ships worldwide!. And hence they have created Bean Body, a range of affordable, organic, and natural body products, made with the highest quality premium ingredients. 

I tried the Bean Body Coconut Coffee Scrub, which contains among others;

• Caffeine from the Arabica Seed Powder to stimulate blood flow and help reduce the appearance of cellulite, eczema, stretch marks, age spots, varicose veins and psoriasis 
• Demerara Sugar and Himalayan Salt to exfoliate the skin, removing dead skin, acne, whiteheads, blackheads, breakouts and other skin blemishes 
• Coconut Oil and jojoba seed oil and almond oil to hydrate and moisturise the skin 
• Cocoa and Vitamin E which are high in antioxidants to nourish and protect the skin, promoting cell repair and rejuvenation 

This coffee scrub essentially looks like most other coffee scrubs - like the used coffee beans in your coffee machine! But in addition, the added ingredients including the coconut oil, gives this the most divine scent.

To use, you simply scrub a handful onto damp skin, and massage in circular motions, focusing on problem areas, such as areas with stretchmarks, age spots or where you have breakouts. You then leave it to dry on the skin for about 5 minutes before rinsing it off. Personally I wash my hair, and after I've rinsed it, and applied my conditioner or hair treatment, I use the scrub, and once done, I use the time waiting for both the conditioner and the body scrub to do its magic, by shaving my armpits or using my Clairsonic on my face, is before rinsing everything off.

The actual scrub is a little coarse, so I am not sure how you'd go if you have very sensitive skin, but personally I do not have any issues, and quit like the gritty feel as I massage it over my skin. And after each use, I can clearly feel my skin is so soft and smooth, all dead skin cells gently buffed away, while the oils have added moisture and nourishment to my skin. And leaving my skin - and my bathroom smelling rather nice of coffee too, giving me a much needed caffeine kick at the same time.

I am not - and if you regularly tune into BLH, you'll know this -the biggest lover of coconut scented products, but thankfully this is still quite subtle, so I actually don't mind, but there are so many other varieties in the Bean Body range, that there is something for everyone, including me, - and I already got my eyes on the Mandarin Coffee Scrub as well as the Peppermint Coffee Scrub!

If I have to be negative, - and this would go for all coffee scrubs, but I don't enjoy that I feel have to clean my shower afterwards, as it really does tend to become a little messy. Also, I do find the packaging a little tricky to use when in the shower with wet hands, and do not really find it ideal sticking my wet hands into the pack, as I feel I not only add water to the product, but also drop so much of the scrub in the process. I would much prefer it if could come in some type of plastic bottle allowing you to easily tip out the amount of product needed without wasting or diluting the product.

But all of that said, it is a fantastic scrub. It is efficient, yet gentle, and with regular use it clearly leaves the skin looking and feeling softer, smoother and more glowing too. I have not got a lot of stretchmarks, but I have noticed that breakouts on especially my shoulders and back have reduced, so clearly the sugar, which contains naturally occurring AHA is having a positive effect on my skin, in removing clearing up my skin. I also love the fact that it is an Aussie brand, and that it is made with natural vegan friendly organic ingredients, without any of the nasties such as parabens or GMO. It is also so affordable that everyone can afford to try.

PRODUCT REVIEW: TRILOGY FACIAL EXFOLIANT, EXFOLIATING BODY BALM AND RADIANCE MASK

I admit that while I love the newer chemical scrubs that have flooded the market in recent years, I do love a good gritty scrub that you can actually feel working, although these can actually also irritate or damage the skin. But did you know that a single bottle of exfoliator can contain a massive Did you 2.8 million micro plastic ingredients per bottle, and these ingredients essentially end up in rivers and oceans, polluting them and putting sea life a huge danger too, and at some point, we may actually end up even eating them through the food we eat. Pretty horrible thought if you ask me. 

Good news is that these micro-plastic ingredients are in the process of being banned. The United States and Canada have already begun the process of banning microbeads, and Australia has threatened a ban if companies do not voluntarily remove them from their products. The New Zealand government likewise announced in January of this year that cosmetic products containing microbeads will be banned in July 2018. While this is a great step in the right direction, luckily some brands such as Trilogy are taking it even more seriously and not selling any products contain these plastic beads.

Still they have some amazing microbead free exfoliators include such as the Trilogy Gentle Facial Exfoliant. This exfoliator is so super gentle even by those with very sensitive skin a few times a week. It contains natural, biodegradable, non-abrasive jojoba wax super-fine microspheres to gently polish the skin, refine texture and improve clarity without irritating or compromising the skin’s natural barrier function. It is also NATRUE certified product, which means that it has an internationally recognised accreditation that guarantees cruelty-free and environmentally friendly practices. Products bearing the NATRUE mark are non-GMO, made from entirely natural ingredients and do not contain synthetic fragrances, colors or preservatives, petroleum-derived ingredients, silicone oils or derivatives.
The scrub contains a base of sweet almond, evening primrose and certified organic rosehip oil, active honey enzymes and camellia oil that work to lift dead skin cells while conditioning botanical extracts of macadamia nut and calendula soften and soothe for a radiant glow. The scrub really is so gentle on the skin, but don't be mistaken, as you're left with a skin that is so super soft afterwards.

If you need a scrub for the body, then you need to try the Trilogy Exfoliating Body Balm. This tub of body polisher comes in a large tub that makes it easy to use in the shower, and like the face scrub, it is also NATRUE certified. The scrub of course also does not contain plastic micro beads, but finely ground rosehip seed powder, that are biodegradable and safe to environment. As the name suggests, it has the consistency like a body balm, thanks to containing rosehip oil, sweet almond oil and beeswax, to nourish, soften and protect the skin - and it really is like slathering on a moisturising treatment while giving your body a scrub at the same time - which in the end leaves your skin so silky soft and smooth that you can almost skip your usual body cream. It has a very gentle and natural scent.

Speaking of treatments, I also thought it worthwhile to speak of the Trilogy Mineral Radiance Mask, which I've so been loving lately. This certified natural mask is made with a base of kaolin, to help purify and give the skin a deep clean drawing out excess sebum and impurities, adding radiance, a more even skin tone and improved circulation. It also contains evening primrose and certified organic rosehip oil to nourish and hydrate the skin, as well as native New Zealand pohutakawa and other botanical extracts help tone, soothe and regenerate skin

The creamy mask can be used once or twice a week on cleansed skin, leaving it on to dry for about 10 or so minutes before rinsing it. And it has really made a significant improvement to my skin. Immediately after use, it makes my skin feel so clean deep down every pore, and overall, I feel that it has made my skin less oily, and I also believe that it has reduced the amount of breakouts that I have been getting too, and all without drying it our or making it irritated.

I am seriously loving these products from Trilogy, and highly recommend that you check them out too.

MOTHERS DAY GIFT IDEAS - PART FIVE

If she is always on the go, who not team her up with a bottle from S’Well - these reusable bottles from the New York company, have taken the world by storm, so much so that the company has been listed at the very top of Forbes 2016 list of fastest growing women-owned or led companies.

And it is not hard to see why as the bottle is pure genius. It not only support charitable organisations such as WaterAid, but the mere using and reusing the bottle helps prevents unnecessary waste from polluting the environment.

The insulated stainless steel bottle not only look amazing - I particularly love the Onyx, which has a matte black design with a silver cap, but what's so great is that piping hot drinks stay hot for 12 hours, and cold drinks stay cold for more than 24 hours. How good is that. The bottle features a double wall construction prevents condensation, and it is made from high quality 18/8 stainless steel is taste neutral, non-porous, non-leaching & BPA free. It has a wide mouth so you can also use ice cubes, and the seal is air tight so it wont accidentally leak into your bag, as well as our drink will stay fresh. It also has a splash safe lid, that has a unique 'nose clearance' to make drinking easier.

The cup is of course both microwave and dishwasher safe, and perfect for use both at home, in the office, or even take it to your café for your take-away coffee, as it has the perfect size for a medium coffee. And by using a reusable cup, you will also help reduce the amount of waste - there's a massive 2.25 billion paper cups used worldwide each year, which s over 50 million trees cut down every year, so re-use and help the environment too - all while drinking from a super stylish cup. This particular cool monochrome bird design print is a limited edition version as a part of the artist series collaboration with the Australian artist Adrian Knott - it is so cool, and I love using it - I often get distracted by my little boys and forget to drink my coffee, but this cup helps keep my drink warm longer, all while looking amazing. And my husband is very jealous of this cup, so I may have to get my hands on another one for him too.


If she's into homewares you cannot go past this stunning Hein Tray from Mojito Homewares. It is hand made from bamboo, and renders a connection to the land and culture of the Vietnamese people, with the brand supporting environmental sustainability, fair trade and promoting ethical consumerism.

The tray can be used as a tray to keep all your special things on display, - I'm considering putting mine in my large ensuite for display of some of my favouorite perfumes. But you can also use it when serving tea outside on the patio, or even as a cheese platter. I love the raw beauty of the timber, mixed with the glossy painted edge, and the quality is second to none, and while it sis super simple, it is so super modern too, and not to mention very timeless. And the best thing is tat you can have it in so many different colours, from solid bamboo, to a variety of beautiful colours such as white, lemon, orange, aqua, crimson, or a classic black such as this one. It also comes in two different sizes, 30cm and 40cm.

If she loves music and a bit of boogie as she's plotting around at home, you cannot go past this incredible Wonderboom speaker from Ultimate Ears. This speaker is about the size of a large coffee mug, but don't be fooled by its little size, as this portable wireless speaker has incredible big sound that is so clear and crisp, and with a big and full bass too - and it easily gets the beat going in my huge family room - and it has an incredible blue tooth reach too, easily connecting with my phone at the other end of the house too. It comes with a little hook, so you can take it with you every where and hang it just where you need it, such as in the garden, or even in the shower as it is also completely waterproof, or perhaps a trip in the pool where it will float! The Wonderboom is so simple to operate, turning the volume up or down, or play pause or skip till you get to your favourite song. It is also quickly and easy to charge, and once you have, you have a massive 10 hours of music. It is available in a cool range of colours including an adorable pink, purple, grey and black. This is seriously an incredible speaker, with such a great sound, and it looks pretty awesome too, so she'll absolutely love this one.


Alternatively how about some certified organic skincare from Australian Agape Skin, which is made by ingredients that you can actually read understand.

The Agape Skin The Scrub is a body scrub made with Himalayan rock salt and bicarb soda, as well as coconut milk powder, cocoa butter, corn flour and lavender essential oils, and it is loaded with vitamins A and C as well as proteins and amino acids. The body scrub has a powdery consistency that you add water to, before massaging it onto your body, or even your face as it is so gentle. This body scrub is kind of reminding me of the Microfoliant from Dermalogica, only this is for the body, and again, made only with ingredients that you can actually understand. It gentle exfoliates the skin - in fact, while using it the first time, I doubted that it was doing anything at all, as I am so used to gritty scrubs, and I didn't feel a think using The Scrub - but after rinsing off and drying my skin, I could immediately feel how soft and smooth my skin was. The powdery does mean you have to be careful not to waste any, but it truly worth. And the added lavender essential oils means that it smells absolutely divine too.

The Agape Skin The Elixir would have to be the hero. It is a very light oil for the body, containing among others camellia oil, macadamia nut oil, hazelnut oil, evening primrose oil, apricot kernel oil, and jojoba oil. This body oil is designed to help hydrate and moisturise the body, while smoothing the skin tone and supporting healthy skin cells. The oil comes in a gorgeous black and white pump bottle that makes it so easy to use. And as it is so concentrated you only need to use the smallest amount. Best used when you are just out of the shower and your skin is still warm, it easily absorbs into the skin, and after a few moments it is so soft and silky smooth, and with a gorgeous gentle natural scent lingering on your skin.

Finally, there's the Agape Skin The Balm, which is a balm for your lips. This natural lip balm is made using camellia oil, beeswax, coconut oil, apricot kernel oil, cocoa butter and avocado oil. These ingredients are a rich source of fatty acids to help keep lips soft and smooth and intensely nourished and moisturised, while also creating a barrier and protect the lips from external forces such as the sun. This lip balm so lovely on the lips, you can immediately feel how moisturising it is, yet without feeling greasy, so it is also perfect to use under lipstick. I also love that it has next to now scent, so it has already found a permanent home in my handbag!

Or what about a selection of Australian made hair and body products from Biology Smart Skincare. These products are free from all the nasties such as sulphates, parabens, chemicals and cheap fillers, but are made with Australian native ingredients, along with active plant DNA and pure essential oils.

The Biology No 301 Pure Hydration Shampoo and the No 302 Pure Hydration Conditioner are designed for daily use as they are so gentle. The shampoo is sulphate free, and both the shampoo and conditioner contains among others a bio active complex, Wildberry Harvest, which consists of 3 native berries that stimulate hyaluronic acid within the follicle to replenish moisture levels, and enhance shine while relieving dryness. It also contains the pure essential oils of lavender, pink grapefruit, patchouli, and ginger, which combined help stimulate healing and hair growth, balancing oil production, and repair the hair, while having calming, uplifting, soothing and relaxing effect. Combined the pair help to gently cleanser the hair and balance the scalp, while helping to detangle and smooth the hair fibres and prevent split ends. These products have a very subtle natural scent you can only love, and from the first use, they leave my long hair clean, and feeling soft and smooth, and looking shiny and glossy too.

The Biology No. 305 Moisture Therapy Body Bar is a soap bar that is free from palm oil and PH balanced and contains the Wildberry complex so it gently cleanses the skin without affecting the skin's natural moisture barrier. It also contains Australian Kakadu Plum and Naitive Wattleseed to, which are tiny little particles that gently buff and exfoliate the skin, along with pure essential oils of lemon for its clearing and antibacterial properties and ginger verbena to brighten the skin. This soap has a fresh and uplifting citrusy-herbal scent that is so divine, and it comes in old-school brown paper wrapping which gives it a gorgeous charm.

A great addition would be the Biology No 353 Ultra Hydrate Body Butter, which is a beautiful cream also contains the Wildberry Harvest to rejuvenate and restore the skin's radiance. In addition, it also contains avocado, sweet almond, oregano and sunflower oils along with shea butter and aloe vera, as well as lavender, olive leaf, thyme and rosemary extract to give the skin an intense dose of fast acting moisture and hydration to combat dryness. The body butter absorbs into the skin so fast, and is non greasy, but leaves the skin feeling so silky soft and smooth all day. It has the most gorgeous slightly scent herbal that I really love as it is so natural, and also so subtle that it doesn't clash with my perfume. This body butter will become my go-to body care this winter!

The shampoo and conditioner simple cream coloured bottles with black writing, or for the body butter, a black plastic jar with a cream label and the black writing and logo. Simplistic and stunning, and just how I personally love it!

PRODUCT REVIEW: THANKYOU HAND WASH, HAND LOTION SANITISER AND COFFEE BODY SCRUB



A little while ago I talked about a beautiful range of baby products from the Australian brand Thankyou (which you can read all about here), and today I'm going to introduce you to a few more of their products which I've been enjoying lately…

 

If you're not familiar with the brand Thankyou, they're a very unique social enterprise, as they believe they can help end global poverty in this lifetime, and hence they give 100% of their profits from their products to helping people in need. 100%!! And what's even more amazing, is that each Thankyou product comes with a unique tracker ID number, which you can enter online or via a special Thankyou app, so that you can see exactly where the profits from the product you’ve purchased is going! Now how amazing is that!

What also amazing is that these products are made here in Australia, and they are completely free from chemical nasties including SLS, SLES, EDTA and parabens, and they do not contain any synthetic fragrances or colours, palm oils or harsh detergents, and they are PH balanced and suitable for even the most sensitive skin and they have all been dermatologically tested. And of course they have not been tested on animals!!

The Thankyou Botanical Patchouli & Vanilla Hand Wash is a super gentle hand wash made with ingredients derived from nature. It contains natural oils and botanical extracts from Chamomile Flower Extract, Lavender, Eucalyptus, Geranium, Sandalwood, while Patchouli and Vanilla leaves it smelling beautiful. The Hand Wash gentle cleans your hands, without drying them out, and the gorgeous scent lingers both in the air and on your hands.

The matching Patchouli & Vanilla Hand Lotion is a nourishing yet super light hand cream. It is made without palm oil, but contains rich ingredients such as Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, Plant Derived Glycerin, Aloe Vera Leaf Juice, Avocado Oil, Rosehip Seed Oil, Cacao Seed Butter, Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Kakadu Plum Fruit Extract, Lavender Oil, as well as of course the Patchouli Oil, and Vanilla to give it its beautiful scent. It absorbs super fast into the skin, which I really like, and has it doesn't leave the hands feeling greasy I can immediately get on the day. Like the Hand Wash, the Hand Lotion comes in a convenient, and large, pump bottle, that also looks super stylish in the bathroom.

Then there's the Thankyou Antibacterial Grapefruit Sanitiser. With our little boy having been so sick and not having an immune system, we’ve relied on antibacterial sanitisers to keep germs at bay in order to protect him from any infection or illness as much as possible, and the Thankyou Antibacterial Grapefruit Sanitiser is one of the nicest ones I've come across. Often I find that antibacterial sanitisers are very 'alcoholic' but not this one - there's absolutely no alcohol smell in sight, but rather it has the most beautiful uplifting zesty and refreshing scent from the grapefruit, but I also love that it kills 99.9% of germs. And as it is pH balanced, it doesn't irritate or dry out the hands. But instead the gel, which quickly absorbs into the skin, still leaves your hands soft thanks to the added Aloe Vera leaf juice and Vitamin E.

For the body, I've been loving the Thankyou Coffee Body Scrub with Botanical Geranium and Rosewood. As a coffee addict, I love the smell of this scrub made with coffee grounds which is rich in antioxidants along with cold-pressed macadamia oil. The coffee grounds are gentle on the skin, yet super efficient, and used on the damp skin and left on for a few minutes so the skin can absorb all the natural hydrating ingredients, this scrub leaves the skin so incredibly soft and smooth, and smelling gorgeous too - just like my bathroom, which smells almost like a coffee shop. As anyone loving coffee scrubs will know, it does leave a bit of a mess behind, but if you ask me, its worth it, and the perfect kick start in the morning too.


All the products come in old style dark brown apothecary plastic bottles and jars with the stunning a simplistic Thankyou labels, which also makes these products look fantastic out on display. 

So all in all I have again really enjoyed using these products from Thankyou. The products are exceptionally well priced, in fact I was surprised at their low price, so I will definitely be purchasing these again, as well as looking into more products from the large Thankyou product range.

PRODUCT REVIEW: RITUALS HIMALAYA SCRUB AND HONEY TOUCH BODY CREAM



Today I'd like to share with you two bath essentials that I've particularly been loving lately, the Himalaya Scrub and the Honey Touch Nourishing Body Cream from Rituals. 

Let's start with the Rituals Himalaya Scrub with Sweet Almond Oil and Indian Rose. This body scrub contains prehistoric Crystal Salts from the Himalayas, which have a purifying and harmonising effect, helping to create inner balance and vitality. In addition it is fragranced with Indian Rose and soothing Sweet Almond Oil and also includes a touch of mint.

The salt scrub is a little coarse, but as soon as you put it on your damp warm skin in the shower, it melts so it has the right consistency so it is not too rough on the skin. But you do have to work fast, or it will completely melt away. It leaves the skin feeling so velvety soft and smooth, and it really does have a revitalising and refreshingly cooling feeling on the skin, no doubt thanks to the added mint.

The Sweet Almond oil helps add some moisture back into the skin, as once you've dried yourself, you skin is already feeling very moisturised and far from dried out, which many other body scrubs do. It also has the most beautiful rose scent that you can only adore, and which also leaves your bathroom smelling incredible too.

Following afterwards with the Rituals Honey Touch Nourishing Body Cream, which contains shea butter, cocoa butter and sunflower seed oil, to deeply moisturise the skin. It also contains Himalayan honey to help soften the skin, and Indian Rose to give it a relaxing effect, and not to forget, Rose Flower Oil to give it a divine rose scent.

This Body Cream has a very light and fluffy almost whipped consistency, which does mean that it absorbs into the skin super fast, without leaving the skin feeling sticky or greasy, yet it is, surprisingly, extremely moisturising at the same time. This Body Cream feels very luxurious on the skin, and leaves it feeling so incredibly soft and smooth, and with that beautiful natural rose scent lingering for a long time afterwards. And actually, if using this following the Himalaya Scrub, this rose scent is only intensified further.

Both the Body Scrub and the Body Cream come in large plastic tubs with a gorgeous simplistic design - and I do particularly love the bright red Body Cream tub, although the brownish scrub tub is also looking gorgeous with its pink and orange writing, making both looking very stylish on the bathroom shelf.

So overall I am really enjoying these products from Rituals, they make shower time such a luxurious joy, and something that I look so forward to. I will be sad when I hit the bottom of these tubs, and can certainly see myself purchasing them again, as well as I'm very keen to explore more from the large Rituals product range..

PRODUCT REVIEW: ONNE BODY SCRUB AND BALANCING BODY BALM

I love it when I come across new brands, so today I am excited to share a new discovery, ONNE..

ONNE is a natural, gluten-free and vegan skincare collection, that uses use certified organic and natural ingredients for optimum performance in anti-ageing and skin renewal, which omitting all chemicals, including parabens, sulphates or synthetic ingredients. Also worth mentioning is that the products are cruelty free, and are Australian made and owned. Today I've put the ONNE Body Scrub and the Balancing Body Balm to the test..

Let's start with the ONNE Body Scrub which is a caffeine-infused cellulite creation is packed full of rich and raw natural ingredients, to detox and nourish the skin. As you will quickly see when you open the jar, it is not just caffeine-infused, the main ingredient in the scrub is Arabica Coffee Seed Powder, blended with coconut sugar, coconut oil, sweet almond, castor seed oil, honeysuckle flower extract.

As ONNE says, they promise that after a session with this scrub, your body will be' glamorously gleaming but we can’t guarantee your bathroom will be. So move all else aside and enjoy this delightful detoxifying mess' - which all is perfectly true. The scrub does leave the skin feeling incredibly soft and smooth, and feeling nourished at the same time - but your shower does need a bit of a clean afterwards. As a coffee lover, needless to say that I love the coffee spreading throughout my bathroom, the perfect wake up call in the morning. It does leave your skin with a slight lingering coffee scent, which is a little odd, but again, as a coffee lover, I do kind of like that, although it does make me crave a cup of freshly brewed coffee even more!

The ONNE Balancing Body Balm contains among others aloe leaf juice, chamomile flower extract, coconut oil and extract, cocoa seed butter, sweet almond oil, rosehip oil, sunflower seed oil, honeysuckle flower extract, sunflower seed oil and rosemary left extract. This body balm comes in a convenient pump bottle which I really love as it makes it so quick and easy to use. It has a light consistency, yet it feels rich and intense at the same time. It absorbs quickly into the skin, leaving, clearly leaving it intensely moisturised and with a nice healthy sheen. It also leaves a scent of coconut and cocoa butter lingering on the skin - now, as I've previously mentioned on the blog, I am not huge fan of coconut scented products, often finding them to be too overpowering - but this one is somewhat different, perhaps because it is a little more subtle and does fade fairly quickly only leaving the slightest scent behind, and perhaps because it is also blended with other natural ingredients, including the cocoa butter, almond oil and honeysuckle flower extract. I did not really expect to like this Body Balm due to its coconut contents, so it's nice to be proven wrong.

The products come in stunning white tubs and bottles, with a simple yet modern black logo and writing - and as a lover of simplistic and understated design, not to mention monochrome, these products look beautiful and luxurious at the same time.

Overall I have really enjoyed trying these products from ONNE, and can see myself purchasing in particular the Body Scrub again.

PRODUCT REVIEW: L'OCCITANE EN PROVENCE AROMACHOLOGIE REVITALIZING BODY SCRUB

If you regularly tune in, you'd know that that one of the brands that I really adore, is L'Occitane en Provence, and this Aromachologie Revitalizing Body Scrub is no exception.

This Revitalising Body Scrub is a sugar crystal scrub that works to revitalise the body and mind, gently slough away dead skin cells to improve skin tone and texture.

It contains among others sunflower oil, lemon zest and essential oils from orange, grapefruit, mint, lemon and rosemary, and these essential oils are also what gives the scrub its natural scent (without any added artificial fragrances), along with proven to energise the body and mind. As a lover of anything citrus scented, I absolutely love this fresh zesty scent, its just divine.

The actual body scrub comes in an old style heavy duty plastic jar, which still looks very stylish in the bathroom. The scrub is very gentle, yet it is still more than efficient enough to buff away all dead skin cells and dry skin, leaving the skin feel incredibly soft and smooth, - and with that gorgeous zesty scent lingering on the skin (and in your bathroom) for a long time afterwards.

PRODUCT REVIEW: C-LAB & CO COFFEE SCRUB

Coffee scrubs are all the rave at the moment, but for some reason I never got around to trying one, so when a parcel with the C-Lab & Co Coffee Scrub landed unexpectedly at my doorstep I was naturally intrigued. As a coffee lover, I naturally absolutely love the scent of this scrub, as it simply smells like a cup of freshly made coffee, so I just couldn't wait to dig into it and give it a try!

The C-Lab & Co Coffee Scrub is made from 100 % natural ingredients, with the main one being 'just cracked' roasted and ground coffee beans and citrus and almond oils as well as sea salt. It comes in a dark plastic jar, and the actual scrub is like those damp coffee grounds you'll find in the filter of your coffee dripper. It is best used on slightly damp skin, and you then scrub in circular motions, focusing especially on any problem areas. Once done, you leave the scrub on the skin for about 5 minutes, to let the goodness from the oil absorb into the skin.

The jar with the coffee scrub comes packed inside a brown paper bag, and inside you'll also find a huge handful of whole coffee beans, so simply opening this bag and you'll get this divine coffee scent, just like opening a fresh pack of coffee! The only thing is that I really don't know what to do with these beans, as I don't think they'd be good to use in my coffee machine, so it is a little bit of a waste really, yet still a very nice touch.

The coffee scrub is packed densely into the tub and as the actual scrub has a very fine texture, it is very gentle on the skin without being too scratchy, yet exfoliating enough to leave the skin feeling incredibly soft and smooth after all dead skin cells have been gently buffed away. And without my skin feeling dried out, and in actual fact, my skin is left feeling very moisturised thanks to the natural oils in the scrub.

Once out of the shower and my skin is dry, I also notice that the scrub has left a lovely scent on my skin, which luckily enough doesn't smell like you've just soaked in a tub-full of coffee! It is simply a very pleasant and subtle scent with that fresh citrus lingering in the background. So lovely. And my bathroom is left smelling like a coffee shop, which isn't a bad thing, especially when you need that little bit of a kick-start in the mornings!

On the negative, the all the coffee grounds, which unlike salt and sugar scrubs, don't dissolve, do leave a bit of a mess in the shower!

The C-Lab & Co Coffee Scrub does make the claim of helping to reduce cellulite and stretch marks, but I am yet to see that happen, but guess you'd need to use the scrub more frequently and over a longer period of time for that to happen!

Regardless, this is a really gorgeous scrub. As a coffee lover I really adore the scent, and the scrub is making my skin so silky soft and smooth while also having a moisturising effect - so I now understand what all the hype is all about. I'll definitely purchase this one again!
