PRODUCT REVIEW: CURATED BEAUTY PINK CLAY MASK

Australian beauty brands seem to have come such a long way in the last couple of years with more and more brands making a mark wit advanced formulas. And another newcomer is Curated Beauty, who make natural products in small quality controlled batches with no parabens, synthetic or artificial chemicals.

I’ve put their launch product, the
Curated Beauty Pink Clay Mask* to the test.

The Curated Beauty Pink Clay Mask is infused with ingredients designed to heal, soothe, calm and purify the skin thanks to pink clay, white clay, coconut milk powder, aloe vera leaf juice powder, calendula flower extract, chamomile flower extract and lavender oil.

The mask comes in a large tub in a powder formula. To use, you simply need to mix it up yourself, by putting a small amount into either your hand, or as I prefer, into a small mixing ball, as it simply avoids a lot of the mess (and wastage!), and then adding a small amount of water to form a paste. You then apply it to your face and neck and leave it on for about 10-20 minutes before rinsing it off with water.

The mask does stiffen up a little, as can only be expected with the clay contents, but unlike other masks, not to the extreme. The pink clay gives it a pretty pale pink colour, and the calendula, chamomile and lavender means it has a lovely relaxing floral scent.

The fact that you have to mix it up, can be a little tricky as you need to get the right consistency, not too runny and not too thick, plus you need to get the right amount, as nothing worse than wasting unnecessary product. But all that said, mask is being sold in powder form as it means it can be made without any preservatives, and for that it is the little bit of hassle.

The mask can be used twice weekly, and is suitable for all skin types, including to solve dryness, dullness, inflammation, and breakouts.

I have enjoyed using it to combat both breakouts, and to give my dull skin some glow. And I have found that after each use, it has left my skin feeling soft and smooth and more refined too. I also find that it helps clear up breakouts and absorb excess oils in the skin, and leave my skin feeling and looking less greasy, yet without drying it out.

This is a really great mask and I love that it is Aussie, cruelty free and vegan and free from all chemical nasties, including no preservatives - which does however mean that you’ll need to use it up within 6 months of opening.
