MAVALA COLOR INSPIRATION AND HAPPY ZEN SPRING SUMMER LIP AND NAIL COLLECTIONS 2017/2018

One of those brand that I’ve raved about before is Mavala, as they have the best nail polishes and lipsticks, as well as I am so in love with their eyeshadow crayons, which are so quick and easy to use. So when the newest Spring and Summer 2017/2018 nail polish and lipstick collection landed on my desk, needless to say that I squealed a little…

So lets talk about the new Mavala Colour Inspiration Nail Polish Collection and the Mavala Happy Zen Lipstick Collection, starting with the nails..

What I really love about the Mavala Nail Polishes is that hey are free from all the chemical nasties including formaldehyde, toluene, camphor, phthalate, parabens, rosin, nickel as we as they do no contain any animal ingredients.

I also love the small bottles containing 5ml, as I don’t actually remember ever completely finishing a nail polish, so these small sizes are perfect, and does allow you to select more, as they come at a lower price too.

The Mavala Colour Inspiration Nail Polish Collection is a profusion of bright and dazzling colours, which are all rich, saturated, playful and rebellious. As they say, colour inspires, captivate, energises and trills.

The collection contains 6 shades including:

  • 283 Coral Bay - A refreshing coral
  • 284 Purple Beach - A bright purple
  • 285 Rose Hill - A vivid fuchsia
  • 286 Red River - A blazing red
  • 287 Blue Mountains - An aqua blue
  • 291 Pink City - An elegant pink

These colours are absolutely stunning and I love their brightness, which also makes then the perfect summer accessory. As all the colours are beautiful, I also find it hard to pick a favourite, but a couple of my top picks would have to be Red River is a classic red that should be in any collection, Coral Bay, and Blue Mountain for their freshness.

L-R: Purple Beach, Pink City, Coral Bay,
Blue Mountains, Red River, Rose Hill
As always with the Mavala polishes, they are so easy to apply evenly and streak-free, thanks to the wide brush, and because they are so pigmented, though it still takes two coats for the perfect coverage and look. As for longevity, with a base and top coat, I manage to get 5+ days wear, which I think is great.

Then there’s the Mavala Happy Zen Lipstick Collection, which is made to match the Colour Inspiration nail polishes, with their bright, and mastered contrasting shades.

These lipstick shades are inspired by a lush and generous tropical nature, with happiness, harmony and desire of colourful well-being.

There are also six shades in the lipstick collection;

  • 631 Terra Nude - A brownish nude
  • 632 Orange Smoothie - A peachy nude
  • 633 Glowing Violet - A darker berry purple shade
  • 634 Shocking Pink - A bright dark pink
  • 635 Nectar Red - A classic red
  • 636 Opal Rose - A dusty medium pink

Again, I cannot resist a good bold red lip, so for me, standout shade is definitely the Nectar Red, but also loving the Terra Nude and the Opal rose. Surprisingly I am actually also enjoying the Glowing Violet, though I am not usually fond of purple lipsticks. As for the Shocking Pink, it is a stunning shade, but it is a little too bright pink for my conservative liking, but if you’re for pinks you’re sure to love it too.

I love that these lipsticks are not just lipsticks, but that they treat the lips while you wear them thanks to containing Prolip, which is a mix of among others candelilla wax to add shine, gliding and a protective film on the lips, shea butter for its repairing, softening, nourishing and soothing properties, aloe vera to protect and regenerate the lips, vitamin E to ad antioxidants and moisture, and UVB filers, and thus the lipsticks help protect the lips again external agressors including wind, sun and pollution.

The lipsticks are so buttery soft and smooth, and are so easy to apply, and a single swipe is enough for a full colour payoff as they are so pigmented. They have a gorgeous satin sheen, and are very long wearing, staying put for 4+ hours, and a little longer for the darker bolder shades, which I think is very impressive for a moisturising lip. And needless to say that they are also incredibly comfortable to wear too.

So there you have it, new season launches from Mavala. The new shades are so stunning, but more importantly, the quality and wear of these products is so impressive that they are worth checking out - and even if these nail polish or lipstick shades are not for you, let me tell you, their colour range is absolutely huge, so there’s sure to be other colours you’ll fall for.
