PRODUCT REVIEW: LANCOME MIRACLE CUSHION FOUNDATION

Using the right foundation is vital to your whole makeup, so I am always on the quest to find the next big thing, so when I was offered to trial the newest one from Lancome, the Miracle Cushion, I happily accepted. Here are my thoughts;

What They Say;
A foundation revolution has arrived - liquid foundation in a compact. Finally, a liquid foundation you can take anywhere. A cushion releases the perfect amount of makeup for effortless application, creating a fresh glow in just seconds. This lightweight and refreshing formula contains SPF 23, hydrating, anti-ageing and brightening benefits. Available in 6 shades.

RRP: $60 – Available from Lancome

What I Say:
For some reason Koreans seem to be very innovative with the development of skincare and makeup, and hence, they have long been selling cushion compacts where the foundation is absorbed into a sponge, and now Lancome has also introduced Miracle Cushion. This foundation in the cushion is not just a foundation, but a combination of foundation and skincare, caring for the skin, both in terms of moisturising the skin, but also offering anti-ageing, and anti-pigmentation properties.

To apply, you simply press the applicator onto this soaked sponge, and the foundation spreads evenly onto the sponge, and consequently also onto the skin, without any mess. In short, this a liquid foundation in a portable compact. How clever!!

The actual foundation is very lightweight, and is so easy to apply with the sponge, and you can easily decide on the level of cover, from very light, to a more full coverage, depending on how much you apply and by adding another layer – all while still looking very natural.

The foundation leaves the skin looking fresh and with a healthy glow and a natural dewy finish. It easily blurs any minor pigmentation, redness and blemishes, and seems to minimise the size of my pores at the same time too. And it feels so comfortable on the skin, almost as if you’re not wearing any foundation at all, it simply leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth, which is where you really realise that it is in fact part skincare too.
The foundation also lasts really well on the skin – I have combination skin, which admittedly is a little drier during these cold winter months, but still I often struggle getting my makeup to last past lunch time. But using a primer first, I found that the Miracle Cushion Foundation lasted well on my skin all day, without fading or changing colours, and without settling into fine lines either.

The actual compact, is sturdy and stylish, and has an inbuilt mirror which makes any touch-ups on the go very easy.
I tried the shade 03 Beige Peche, which is a little dark for my medium beige skin tone, which however is a little paler than it usually is during winter as being pregnant I simply couldn’t stand being in the sun during summer- but fingers crossed that by spring and summer where I’ll have a little more colour in my face, it will be the perfect shade.

Overall I really love this foundation. It feels so beautiful on the skin, and I love that you can easily build up the coverage where you need it to cover any imperfections, yet while maintaining that barely there look with a nice glow. And I love that it stays put on my skin all day, still looking almost freshly applied when I take it off at night! And of course, I love that it actually cares for and treats my skin while I wear it too. I definitely wouldn’t hesitate repurchasing this again!
