Product Review & LOTD: Australis Colour Inject Mineral Lipstick in Jitterbug

As I’ve previously mentioned, I have to be quite honest and admit that I am a little conservative, and mostly wear a quite neutral lipstick shade, but nothing beats a true red lipstick for special occasions, as it really does make a huge difference to your whole makeup look. Here are my thoughts on the *Australis Colour Inject in Jitterbug;

What They Say:
"Long lasting, moisturising and nourishing lip colour. It’s an injection of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, the hottest thing on everyone's lips. It contains Kakadu plum which is the world’s highest known source of Vitamin C which is not only soothing, but also naturally stimulates collagen formation. Available in 18 colours".

RRP: $12.95 – Available from Myer, Priceline, Terry White Chemists, My Chemist, Chemist Warehouse and leading pharmacies nationally, and from Australis Cosmetics Online.

What I Say:

While I have used a few makeup items from Australis, I have to be honest and admit that this is the first lipstick that I am trying, and while I really like the makeup I have tried from the brand as it is a good quality for a budget price, I didn’t really know what to expect from the lipstick.

The Australis Colour Inject in Jitterbug is a lovely bright red lipstick with a blue undertone. And as soon as I put it on, I was impressed. It is soft, creamy and smooth, and just glides onto the lips.

The lipstick contains vitamins and minerals, including Kakadu plum, which is contains a high amount of Vitamin C, known to be both soothing as well as help naturally stimulates collagen. And the lipstick really does feel nice and soothing on the lips. And very moisturising too, without being too sticky. And as an added bonus the Australis Colour Inject Mineral Lipstick has SPF15, which I really like.

The lipstick is very pigmented, and so the colour is rich and dramatically bold, and with just one coat. And it has a good staying power, in fact about 4-5 hours before I felt the need to reapply.

The lipstick does fade a little as time goes by, but still looks like a pretty stain on my lips. It is also possible to just get the stained look by just dabbing a little lipstick on, and blotting it off with a tissue, which does give the lips a nice ‘bitten effect’, which lasts a few hours.

The lipstick has a typical lipstick scent, which unlike other lipsticks isn’t too perfumed. It comes in a simple yet classic black glossy tube with a bright pink band between the base and the lid. The lid also closes firmly in place so you do not need to worry about it popping open when you carry it around in your handbag makeup purse.
All in all this is a fantastic lipstick that is not only comfortable to wear and nourishing for the lips, but it gives the lips a nice pop of colour at the same time. The Jitterbug colour is (for me anyway!), a very bright red, and being as conservative as I am I will reserve this for special occasions, or use as a lip stain for a less made up look. And at just $12.95 this lipstick is fantastic quality at a bargain price, and with a massive 18 colours in the range there is sure a colour to suit everyone, as well as all moods and occasions – I will definitely be checking out the rest of the colours in this range!

Have you tried any of the lipsticks from Australis? What is your preferred budget lipstick? Do you wear bold lipsticks for everyday wear, or are you as conservative as me??
