Product Review: Palmolive Strawberry Smoother Exfoliating Body Wash

Shower Gels is one of those everyday essentials, and I always have a few different body washes in the shower and switch between them depending on how I feel, what I have on whether I want to exfoliate or moisturise. So I was very excited when I was asked to trial the new *Palmolive Strawberry Smoother Exfoliating Body Wash. Here are my thoughts;

What they Say:
"Looking for smooth, irresistible skin? Palmolive Body Butter Strawberry Smoother™ body wash has you covered. Its rich creamy texture with natural seeds gently exfoliates to polish and clean your skin's surface, leaving it soft and smooth."

RRP: $6.49 for 400ml – Available from supermarkets.

What I Say:
I love fruit, and fresh strawberries is one of my favourites, so this strawberry body wash smells absolutely divine to me, reminding me of a really good strawberry smoothie, smelling deliciously fresh and summery.

The body wash comes in a stylish and functional clear curvy bottle, with a flip top lid that is easy to open in the shower even with wet hands. I have to admit that I do like shower gels that come in a pump bottle, and because of the design of this bottle which has a curved top, it will make it a little tricky for it to stand up side down when it comes time to completely empty the bottle. I do like that the bottle is clear so you can easily see how much body wash you have left.

The actual body wash is a very thick and rich creamy formula, but Palmolive does also call it a body butter and not a shower gel, which does explain the consistency. Due to the thick consistency it does take a bit of a squeeze to get the body wash out of the bottle.

The body wash is soft pink in colour, and it has small crushed strawberry seeds to help scrub off dead skin cells and "leave your skin’s surface looking soft and supple".

The exfoliating particles are so fine and small and as they come in a creamy body wash it is so gentle that you can get away with using this every day, and who doesn’t love a multi-tasking product that can cut a step or two out of your beauty routine!

I think that the body wash delivers well on the hydrating side of things, in terms of the exfoliating, it is very gentle, and only offers a tiny bit of exfoliating, but so if you are after smooth renewed skin this isn't going to remove stubborn dead skin cells – and this in spite of the fact that it is packaged as an exfoliating body wash. Regardless, it really does leave the skin feeling softer and smoother than for instance the Palmolive Body Butter in Luscious Mango.

After showering, but my skin didn't feel as tight and uncomfortable as it normally does before I put on lotion and I believe that it does up my skin hydration, especially when compared to soap or a After the shower my skin feels soft, subtle and moisturised, and I probably could get away without moisturising, but my dry skin would still be thirsty, so even though I may not need it, I still put on my regular body lotion.

The scent side of things is really pleasant. In the shower it is a little strong, but once dried off from the shower, the body wash leaves the skin with a gorgeous, but subtle scent of strawberries, which however is so faint that it won’t clash with your chosen fragrance.

All in all, this is a lovely exfoliating body wash which comes at a bargain price, and if you’re a lover of strawberries like me, you simply must experience this delicious body wash, it’s simply divine, so I will definitely be purchasing this again!!
