PRODUCT REVIEW: NIVEA SOFT MIX ME COLLECTION

One of those budget brands that I have always loved is Nivea. I grew up using the products, and to this day, decades and decades on, still use several of their products on a regular basis.

And in a time where customisation is a great selling point, Nivea has created three new scents of the cult classic Nivea Soft Creme with the creative and fun Nivea Soft Mix Me* collection.

This new range comes comes in a pack with a small tub of the original classic Soft Creme, along with three tubs of with three new scents, which have been designed to either used on their own, or mixed and matched in any combination you like to create an endless mix of scents, depending on your mood or occasion, just how you like it. And a all while keeping your skin soft and smooth.

The three new scents have individual scents and smell beautiful on their own, but surprisingly, they can be mixed together to create completely new scents, by layering them any scents you like, or by adding an accent to special areas. You can for instance adding a touch of fruitiness and sweetness to the décolleté etc. The Soft Mix Me Collection includes;

  • Soft Original - with the classic Nivea scent we’ve all come to know
  • Chilled Oasis - with cool mint, freshness of green leaves and a touch of lilies blooming in a forest after a morning rain shower, giving a scene of relaxation and harmony. This has a very fresh and light scent, minty with a touch of lime
  • Berry Charming - a romantic, charming and playful scent that combines the fresh sweetness of wild strawberries and juicy raspberries with the crisp touch of a Pink Lady apple. It has a very strong sweet berry scent
  • Happy Exotic - Aligning the happy sparkling fragrance of fresh pineapple, exotic citrus fruits and clear coconut water, this fragrance is full of sunshine and zesty fruits. This is a very summery scents that also reminds me a little of Pina colada on a tropical island holiday

These creams can be used on both face, body and hands, but I have to admit that my combination skin is way too temperamental for me to even dare using it on my face, as I simply think the cream would be way to rich and heavy, so consequently I’ve only been using them as body creams and on my hands.

My favourite combination is the Original wit the Chilled Oasis for a fresh scent, or even adding a touch of Berry charming for a bit of sweet fruitiness. But again, there are no wrong combination, you can do whatever you like. To mix, I simply scoop a bit of the creams into my hands and mix before applying them. Yes, it does take a few extra moments to do than when using just a single one, so I admit to using them individually as hand creams, for which they work perfectly too.

As expected from Nivea, these creams leave the skin feeling soft and moisturised throughout the day. The scents scent are all lovely, and not overpowering, but rather quite subtle, yet do linger on the skin for a while, and as they are so subtle that I feel you can still use your usual perfume without the scents clashing.

These really are such a great idea, and a novel way of making you feel like you very own perfume maker, creating just the scent you like. And the included scents make them so perfect for use during spring and summer, all while keeping your skin looking If you’re a Nivea fan, and admit it, who isn’t, they you really have to give these a try.
