PRODUCT REVIEW: CLINIQUE TAKE THE DAY OFF CLEANSING BALM

Clinique has always been one of my favourite brands, and the very first premium brand I started purchasing when I got an after school job and could afford it. To this day, decades on, and many their products remain amongst many of my trusted faves. So when I was kindly send the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm*, which I’ve heard so many rave about, I couldn’t wait to try it out.

  • The Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm is a lightweight balm cleanser that comes in a tub. It is designed for all skin types, and helps quickly and easily remove all types of makeup, including the most long-wearing makeup such as foundations, lipsticks and waterproof mascaras, along with sunscreens.

  • The balm comes in a tub, and you simply take a little of the solid balm, and massage it onto the face and it melts into a lightweight silky soft oil from the warmth of your fingers, and it immediately helps loosen up you makeup.
  • After massaging it into your skin, you can simply rinse your skin well with water, which I prefer, or if you like, you can also use a dam cotton cloth and wipe it all of your face, removing every last trace of makeup
  • I love that this balm-turning-into-oil cleanser cleans my skin so thoroughly of all my makeup, without the need for a second clean - tough I do admit that I always like to double cleanse regardless, using a ‘treatment cleanser afterwards for a deeper clean of my pores.
  • I like that it leaves my skin feeling so soft and smooth, and without any greasiness that can clog up my blemish prone skin, as well as it doesn’t dry it out, nor does it sting my sensitive eyes. It simply leaves my skin so soft, clean and clear.
  • The cleanser comes in a gorgeous purple jar with Clinique’s typical silver lid. And while I do like the jar, I would have liked if it had come with a little dosing-scoop, to not only help you get just the amount of cleanser needed, but also to avoid you digging your hands into the cleaner again and again.
  • At first glance, $55 may appear a little pricey for a cleanser, but it is very concentrated, so you only need the smallest amount, so the large tub will last you quite a while, also because it is so effective that you do not need to double cleanse.

Now I understand why everyone is raving about this Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm, it is without a doubt one of the best cleansers I’ve ever used. Super efficient, yet super gentle too. I’ll without a doubt be purchasing this one again and again!
