PRODUCT REVIEW: SUVA BEAUTY NEUTRAL NECESSITY EYESHADOW PALETTE FROM THE BEAUTY DRAWERS

Today I am excited to share with you an absolutely stunning eye shadow palette from Suva Beauty, which I am trialling as a part of being an official brand ambassador for the newly opened Australian online beauty store, The Beauty Drawers.

To be quite honest, I had never heard of Suva Beauty before. I have no idea why, perhaps because I don't believe that the brand has actually been available for purchase in Australia before it became available through the Beauty Drawers. I am not sure, but when I realised that the brand has a massive cult following on their social media, including over 170K on their Instagram, I did get even more curious about the brand. The brand is founded by Shaina Azad, a Youtube beauty guru, who is also a TV, film and bridal makeup artist.

The Natural Necessity eyeshadow palette is a palette intended for everyday use, but which can be used for everything from day to evening looks. It contains 8 matte shades, which include;

Top Row;

  • Prohibition Pub - a pure white shade
  • Turkish Bath - a dusty pastel pink shade
  • Lock Bridge - a coral pink shade
  • Shanghai Nights - a pale pastel pink
Bottom Row;
  • Night Market - a black
  • Islander - a dark chocolate brown
  • Hookah - a fuchsia/burgundy shade
  • Madrid - a chocolate brown shade

As promised, these shades are all very soft, and have a high pigmentation, even the white and the black shades, which I otherwise often can find are not as pigmented in some brands. The are all very easy to apply and blend, whether you like just a touch of colour, or if you want to build it up to an intense look. And regardless, the shades wear really well throughout the day, with minimal fall-out, and without settling into fine lines - and that's on my slightly greasy eyelids!

All the shades are huge, 4g each - in comparison, I have just checked a handful of my other eyeshadow palettes, and each shade is around 1g each! I admit that I have a huge makeup collection, so I swap and change the products I use a lot, so this palette will literally last me a lifetime! And I guess, essentially, I would probably rather slightly smaller shades, and a few more different ones in the palette in stead. That said, with some of these shades, I actually find that they can double as blushes as well!!

I also admit to being a tad conservative when it comes to my makeup, usually sticking to neutrals, so the darker brighter fuchsia Hookah shade initially scared me, but if you use it very sparingly, and blend, blend, blend, you can actually also use it as a blush. An the same goes for the dusty pastel pink shade, Turkish Bath, and the coral pink shade, Lock Bridge.

In addition, the two brown shades, Islander and Madrid, can essentially also be used for contouring if you like!

As for my eyes, in addition to the Hookah not being a shade I'd usually reach for, I also find the white Prohibition Pub a little stark, and would have preferred a more off-white shade, and likewise with the black, which however, used with a damp brush, does however double as an eye liner.

That said, I do love the rest o the shades, and find them very wearable, both on their own, or in any combination.

The palette comes in a slim-line cardboard palette with a magnetic closure, and an internal mirror. It doesn't come with any brushes, but personally I don't mind as I always use my own anyway. Due to the sizes of the shadows, it is rather large and also a tad heavy. I also love that you can easily remove the shadows and reuse for with other single eye shadows, or even replace some of the shades you don't like or use. The external has a gorgeous black and white printed design that also features splashes of colour. It also comes in a black box with white Suva logo printed all over it, which does look great.

Overall, l this is really a great basic palette, which includes all the shades you'll need for a neutral look, whether you prefer it simple or bold. I am quite impressed with the quality and wear of these shades, and can definitely see myself reaching for this in the coming months, a well as I wouldn't mind getting hold of a few shimmery shades as well.
