PRODUCT REVIEW: SATURDAY SKIN BALANCING ACT LOTION, WIDE AWAKE, QUENCH MASK AND SPOTLIGHT MASK

Today I am going to talk a little about Saturday Skin. If you haven't heard of the brand before, let me quickly give you the rundown.

The brand says "we live for Saturdays, for sleeping in, staying up… and they believe your skin should feel as good as you do when you wake up refreshed; happy, healthy and bright…. Saturday Skin is a weekend in a bottle!!". And in spite of the pretty pastel pink bottle and turquoise satchels, but don't be fooled and think we're talking teen-age products here - as we're not - as these products are in actual fact developed with scientists at an internationally respected wellness centre, Chaum, in Seoul, Korea, using a signature patented ingredient called Cha-7 es Complex which is engineered through fermentation technology from 7 recombinant peptides that are powerful in combatting skin ageing, helping to regenerate the skin, increasing collagen and elasticity, while reducing melanin production. And what's more, the products are free from parabens, sulfates, artificial colours and fragrances.

The Saturday Skin Balancing Act Skin-Smoothing Lotion, which is another fabulous multi-tasker helping to fight the signs of ageing. The lotion contains among others magnolia vine extracts to help soothe and restore the skin's oil and water balance, adding moisture and hydration while smoothing and refining the skin's texture and improving elasticity. It also contains citrus oils to help brighten the skin as well as shea butter to create a supple finish and luminious glow.

The lotion is quite light and while the bottle comes with a pump, so you need to pump it into your hands, and before applying it to you face with tapping circular motions.

This daily moisturier is very lightweight and it absorbs quickly into the skin and leaves it so soft and smooth, ready for makeup, or to hit the bed. And it has the most divine floral scent too. After just a few uses, I can see that my skin is enjoying this lotion, as it makes it feel soft and smooth, and clearly glowing and radiant. Everything about this lotion is gorgeous, from the packaging, the beautiful scent, to the quick apparent results, so this is already a favourite too, and I'm keen to explore more of the product range.

Then there's the Saturday Skin Wide Awake Brightening Eye Cream, which is a kin Wide Awake Brightening Eye Cream, which is a eye cream that promises to firm, lift and smooth the apperance of fine lines and wrinkles, brighten the eye area, minimising dark circles, reducing puffiness while recovering a youthful, healthy apperance. It contains among others date seed extract to illuminate and refresh the delicate skin around the eyes

The cream has such a beautiful and fresh scent that I just cannot get enough off, and as it doesn't contain any artificial fragrances, it naturally comes from some of the added ingredients which also include apple seed oil and water, orange, lemon and grapefruit oil, and lavender and rosemary oil.

This eye cream is so incredibly light, that I'd actually classify it more as serum than a cream. It absorbs into the skin immediately, and in spite of its lightness, it is clearly very moisturising, and immediately leaves my skin clearly deeply moisturised, and looking and feeling refreshed. And because it absorbs so quickly, and without any greasiness or tackiness, it is also the perfect base for makeup during the day. After having used the cream for several weeks, I have to say that I am impressed with the results, as I have definitely noticed that my eye area seems brighter and smoother, less puffy and dark circles less noticeable. I haven't yet noticed any major difference in the amount of wrinkles and lines, but I also didn’t expect that to happen in such a short period of time.

The cream comes in a gorgeous pink pump bottle, and it holds a massive 30ml, which is a lot for an eye cream, so it will last you forever. You naturally also need to take this larger size into account when you look at the price, as it does make it great value too.

The range also contain two different sheet masks, Quench and Spotlight, both are bio-cellulose sheet masks, which adheres to your skin like second skin, to help the fermentation process where amino acids, vitamins and anti oxidants are formed. These masks, like most other sheet masks, need to be left on the skin for about 20 minutes, before any remaining essence is tapped into the skin. And unlike other masks, these do not need to be rinsed off.

The Saturday Skin Quench Intense Hydration Mask is a deeply hydrating mask that contains Hyaluronic acid to replenish moisture, as well as watermelon and aloe to naturally hydrate and refresh, while improving uneven skin tone and texture and give the skin a radiant glow.

I have combination skin so it is not usually moisture that my skin lacks, but even so it, it left my skin feeling soft and smooth, and glowingly radiant, and it is hence the perfect mask to use for instance prior to going out for an instant pick me up.

Alternatively, there's the Saturday Skin Spotlight Intense Hydration Mask, which is a hydrating and soothing mask that also helps revitalise dull and tired skin, while diminishing dark spots and brightening the skin's over all apperance thanks to containing among others bilberry, licorice and lotus extracts diminish dark spots to uncover natural radiance. This mask is my favourite of the two, and a perfect match for my pigmented and tired dull skin. While I didn't notice any difference in the apperance of my pigmentation, after using just one mask, my skin is still looking clearer and brighter, and is looking refreshed and glowing.

So there you go, a selection of products from Saturday Skin. My fave of these would have to be the eye serum, but that said I have enjoyed all of them, and I certainly wouldn't mind trying a few more from the range, in particularly I've got my eyes on the
