PRODUCT REVIEW: CLINIQUE REPAIRWEAR LASER FOCUS

While I don’t mind getting older, like most others, I am not enjoying the lines and wrinkles that comes with it, so when I was offered the opportunity to trial a product that ‘offers a second chance’ for the skin, I happily accepted. Here are my thoughts on the Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus*;

What They Say:

A new formula, a second chance for every skin. What is reassuringly the same: 63% of the visible wrinkle-reducing power of a laser at 12 weeks. Not a laser, of course, but impressive results. Now, with new ingredients that deliver twice the smoothing as before, skin's texture is remarkably refined. Use it day and night and give your skin its second chance.

What I Say:

This serum from Clinique promise to improve the look of lines and wrinkles, and help resurface the skin’s texture for a younger look. It helps correct the sun’s visible damage and restore the skin’s glow. Sounds pretty good to me.

The serum comes in plastic bottle that so heavy duty that you could almost mistake it for a glass bottle. It has a handy dropper so you can get just the amount of serum without any wastage, and very importantly without digging your fingers into it, thus avoiding contaminating the serum with bacteria.

The creamy serum has a slightly, although inoffensive chemical scent that quickly faces. It absorbs quickly into the skin, leaving my skin feeling soft and smooth, and with a nice matte finish, something I really appreciate having combination skin that is often on the greasy side. And because it absorbs so quickly, you can immediately move on to applying your usual moisturiser followed by makeup. The serum works well under makeup too, and I feel it has a priming effect, preventing my foundation from settling into lines.

I have now been using the serum for well over a month, both morning and night after cleansing and before applying my moisturiser. And while intensive serums often make my skin feel congested or worst case break out, I am happy to say that has not been the case with Repairwear Laser Focus, it is simply hydrating my skin without clogging up my pores or making it look shiny.

The serum has made my skin feel noticeably smother and more moisturised, and consequently I am convinced that fine lines have reduced in size, and larger wrinkles including a frown line between my brow has also significantly softened in appearance. I am not sure it has made any major change to my pigmentation, but in saying that, I do feel that my skin looks slightly more even, and has a nice glow to it, even when I am not wearing makeup.

Overall, this is a lovely serum. I wouldn’t go as far as to say that it has repaired my skin from all past damage, but truth is that I don’t think any cream or serum could do that, or could match the effects of a laser treatment. However, it has made my skin look more even and reduced the appearance of lines, all while giving my skin a nice healthy glow, and for that I give it big thumbs up. I will definitely consider purchasing again!
