Product Review & NOTD: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Nail Polishes, Spring Racing Collection

To coincide with the Spring Racing, Sally Hansen has released a limited edition Spring Racing Collection of nail polishes, which will be sure to have you race-day-ready this Spring. Here are my thoughts on the *Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Spring Racing Collection;

What They Say:
"Formulated with three proprietary time-released, protecting shine enhancers, Complete Salon Manicure delivers lasting shine – the closest you can get to a gel effect without a gel manicure. Housed in breakthrough nano-tubes, the shine enhancers are released as your nails flex during daily wear and tear, helping to provide maximum chip-resistance."

RRP: $9.95 (14.7ml) - Available for a limited time from Priceline

What I Say:

The new Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Spring Racing Collection consists of seven shades that are perfect for spring and are designed to make a statement. From pretty pastels to chic neutrals these new limited edition shades, including (L-R in the image below) Rosy Outlook, Peach of Cake, Sheer Bliss, Tinkle Me Pink, Gray-Escape, Good To Grape and Barracuda. I was lucky to trial the gorgeous shades Peach of Cake and Barracuda.

The Peach of Cake is a lovely light salmon/coral shade, while the Barraduca is a striking pale turquoise, in 'Tiffanys' style.

I love the fact that the nail polishes are 3-Free, meaning they are free from DBP, Toluene and Formaldehyde.

What I also love is the brush in the nail polish. Named by Sally Hansen as the ‘Precision Brush’ it is rounded to fit the curve of the cuticles. The brush is also more dense with more bristles than I have tried before, as well as it is very wide, which combined makes it so easy to use, even for someone like me, quite hopeless at applying nail polish.

The actual formula of the nail polish is nice and thick, and just two coats is enough for a nice result. As most nail polishes these days, it dries very quickly, and you are left with nice glossy looking nails.

The nail polish is fairly longwearing, and without a top coat it lasts about 4 days wear, before it starts to show signs of wear and chips at the edges.

What I Like:
  • A great price for a large nail polish
  • 3-Free formula, free from DBP, Toluene and Formaldehyde
  • Quick drying
  • Longwearing
  • A nice formula and an amazing brush making them easy to apply

What I Don’t Like:
  • I really have no negatives to say about these nail polishes….oh, except that these lovely colours are only available for a short time!

Overall I find that these nail polishes are amazing and have a very high quality, so I find that $9.95 is cheap for such a large bottle of nail polish. I will enjoy using these lovely shades during spring and summer and I’d be keen to add a few more colours to my collection while they are still available..

Have you ever tried any of the nail polishes from Sally Hansen? Which colour do you prefer? Will you be going to the spring racing?

    1. I really love both shades too, it is so nice to see some bright fresh colours after a long cold winter with dark sombre colours!
