PRODUCT REVIEW: RIMMEL LONDON # INSTA SELFIE COLLECTION
A drugstore makeup brand that has really hit the mark lately is Rimmel London, with products that are always very budget friendly, but also high quality and right on trend, and the newest releases to hit the Australian shelves are no exception, a collection designed to get you selfie-ready in an instant..
Let's start with the Rimmel London #Insta Conceal & Correct Palette, which is a nifty little palette that contains three creamy shades that addresses the different skin tones and imperfections you want to conceal for a more flawless complexion. The kit includes these shades;
The shades are to be applied to the skin prior to foundation where needed, or as shown on the image on the back of the compact. It can be applied with a concealing brush, though personally I prefer to use my fingers!! All shades are quite creamy, and have added Vitamin E, Aloe and Chamomile, and I have to say that I am quite impressed, and use particularly the green for blemishes and the peach shade for my under eye circles, and do like the result. It can be a little tricky to blend evenly, but again, I find that it is easiest with my fingers perhaps as the warmth from my fingers makes it easier to blend and perhaps that way more natural looking being.
Then there's the Rimmel London #Insta Conceal & Contour Palette, which is a similar looking palette to the above, also containing three creamy shades, only these are designed to help cover up and conceal imperfections and accentuating features by sculpting some angles and camouflaging different on your face. The kit contains;
It is best used on top of your foundation where needed, or as on the graphic shown on the back of the palette.
Its available in three shades, light, medium and dark so there should be a match for most skin tones. I have a medium beige skin tone, and I tried the medium shade, which will be ok come summer and I have a little more colour in my face, but at the moment it is a tad dark for my winter pale skin.
The first shade is the highlighter which is a champagne shade that helps illuminate and brighten the face for a subtle dewy glow on your cheeks, brow bone, cupids bow etc. It is quite subtle, but can be built up slightly, and I find it easiest to apply using my fingers.
The concealer is great for covering small blemishes, and other areas of concern such as redness and pigmentation, and here I actually find that using a small concealer brush gives the best result, as you can dab it on lightly until you've got the coverage you want. It lasts well on the skin throughout the day.
Finally, there's the contouring shade which helps define and sculpt your face for either a naturel definition of a more chiselled look if you build up the product slowly. It is easy to apply, but I do find the chocolate shade a tad too dark for my skin at the moment, so haven't been experimenting with it enough to cast a final verdict.
Then there's the #InstaFlawless Perfecting, Radiant Skin Tint, which is actually a product that was launched last year. But this is a multi-functional product that has several functions including primer, tinted moisturiser while offering SPF protection.
It helps prime and perfect the skin, erases signs of fatigue, making the skin tone look more even and brighter while giving it a natural-looking radiant glow, and moisturises the skin for 24 hour
It has a very light and thin formula and it absorbs quickly and easily into the skin, with a nice dewy finish, and a light coverage, yet surprisingly it does manage to minimise the look of my pigmentation and even out my skin tone and give my skin a nice healthy glow, but I still need a concealer to cover and hide more prominent marks (but I usually always do with tinted moisturisers). It can be used both on its own, or it can also be used underneath your usual foundation, but I must admit to only having used it on its own.
The tint claims to after just seven day's wear, leave the skin more even and with a radiant glow, but I have to say that I have not noticed any permanent change to the look of my skin, apart from when I'm actually wearing the tint.
The tint works well on my combination skin, but the usual shiny t-zone does appear by the afternoon, so a touch up is required. Regardless, I do enjoy using this #InstaFlawless Perfecting, Radiant Skin Tint, as a tinted moisturiser on those days I am just after a quick and simple casual look.
Next up is the Rimmel London #Insta Fix & Matte Powder, which is a superfine white translucent powder that helps set and fix the foundation to make it more even, while also controlling shine and diminishing oil product - and having combination skin always prone to shine especially on my nose and rest of the t-zone by mid-day, I really like this powder. It is so lightweight and literally invisible, and makes my skin look lovely and matte, while not making my makeup look dry or cakey. Even after touch ups during the day. It comes in a round clear compact, and has embossed hashag symbols in perfect keeping with the insta theme for a perfect selfie, and it really is the most stunning design.
Finally, there's the Rimmel #Insta Fix & Go 2 in 1 Primer & Setting Spray, which is a great multi-tasking products, that doubles as both a primer and a setting spray, plus you can use it to refresh the skin throughout the day too. The primer is oil-free, which is great when you've got combination skin like me, so no need to worry that it will make your skin look greasy throughout the day.
It is so easy to apply, you simply spritz over the face and wait a few moments before applying your makeup, and then once done, spray again to set it. So much quicker than a cream or gel based primer. The Insta Fix & Go promises to help prolong the wear of makeup making it look nicer for longer, and it really does stop that dreaded afternoon shine. And at the same time, it feels lovely and revitalising on the skin thanks to the added cucumber extract, which also makes it smell so fresh and summery and absolutely divine. As I am always struggling with makeup going shiny halfway through the day, I am really enjoying this spray, so I can easily see this one becoming a stable in my makeup cabinet.

PRODUCT REVIEW: KOSMEA MUM AND BABY COLLECTION
Kosmea is one of those brands that is relatively new to me, and while the brand continues to receive rave reviews for their products, I still have only tried a few products from their large range, so today I'm excited to share with you the Kosmea Mum and Baby Collection.
But first, in case you're not familiar with Kosmea, let me quickly fill you in. The products is Australian owned and made and I love the fact that they are made using only the best certified organic rosehip oil and the finest herbal, plant and flower extracts, and they do not contain any mineral oils, artificial colours, petrochemicals, artificial fragrances or SLS or SLES. I also love that the products are so gentle that they are suitable for use on babies' sensitive skin too.
Now onto the Kosmea Mum and Baby Collection, which is a great starter pack containing some key products for mum and baby, including;
The Kosmea Hydrating Rosewater Mist is a cooling facial spray intended to be used as a toner to rehydrate the skin the skin throughout the day, or on top of makeup to help it set and look nice for longer. It has the most gorgeous rose scent, coming from the thousand delicately distilled rose petals that have been used, and I just cannot get enough of this gorgeous natural scent. As the spray is very hydrating (and non-aerosol too), it is also perfect for bringing with you on long-haul flights to help freshen up the skin and bring back some much needed moisturise.
Then there's the Kosmea Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil, which I have actually used previously and still do, and I've also posted about it a long time ago, which you can read about here.
My views on this Rose Hip Oil has not changed, it is an incredible oil, and I love using it on both my face and décolleté, at night before bed, and feel that it is helping make my skin look not only more plumb and moisturised with fine lines less noticeable, but also more even toned, with pigmentation reducing in size and appearance. So if you've not tried it, you really should!
Then there's the Kosmea Five Minute Facial™ Muslin Cloth, which is made from 100 per cent cotton and designed to purify and gently exfoliate the skin during cleansing.
I admit to using a facial cleansing brush daily, but I've been enjoying using this Muslin Cloth before and after using a face mask - first used with warm water to open up the pores, and after removing the mask, with cold water to remove any remaining product, and to close and tighten the pores again. So simple, yet so effective. I love it.
Next is the Kosmea Rescue Balm, which is a healing balm intended for a multitude of skin issues including sunburn, chapped lips, reduction in appearance of scars, cuts and grazes and nappy rash. It is made using among others certified organic everlasting oil, lavender and calendula oils to help soothe the skin and promote skin recovery with its anti-inflammatory properties, while the Certified organic rose hip butter helps the skin retain moisture. I love a good multi-tasker, and especially when it is as gentle as this one, again suitable for use even on a baby's delicate skin. I love having it at hand, and successfully used it on my big boy's grazed knees and on our little boy's bum to prevent nappy rash during teething.
Finally, the Kosmea Rescue Body Cream is yet another product suitable for even babies. The cream is intensely moisturisng and leaves my, and my little boys' skin soft and smooth all day long, without the need for reapplying - all thanks to containing everlasting oil, rose hip butter and shea butter will deeply moisturise skin and relieve itchy symptoms. Carrot oil and grape seed oil protect with antioxidants and restore skin elasticity, and chamomile soothes irritated and sensitive skin.
Overall, this is a great gift set, and a great introduction to the brand, as it gives you an opportunity to try several products from the brand.

PRODUCT REVIEW: JOJOBA COMPANY AFTER SUN RESCUE PACK
The summer sun with its harsh UV rays can cause havoc in the skin, but even worse cause premature ageing, and of course not to mention burn and dry out the skin. Hence, looking after you skin with lots and lots of sunscreen is so important. I will start by the 100% Natural Jojoba Oil as I have previously reviewed and declared my love for it (you can see one of my reviews here!).
This stuff is simply magic! And it is such a multi-tasker too, as it loaded with antioxidants and vitamins A, D and E. There is simply not the use it is not suitable for. As well as an intensive anti-ageing moisture serum on my face, I also like to use a tiny little bit to bring back a little moisture to dry hair and smooth down any frizz and flyaways. But it is also suitable to use as a treatment for the cuticles, and can even be used as an eye makeup remover! The golden drops are fragrance free, and come in a cute frosted pump bottle and is very concentrated so the tiny bottle will last you for a long time.
The Redness Reducing Balm is packed with antioxidants thanks to its natural and organic ingredients, and it helps provide instant calming relief to dry, red or inflamed skin, and instantly reduce any redness. So it is not only perfect if you’ve been too long in the sun and have managed to get sunburnt, it is also perfect to use after shaving or waxing or after surgery or laser treatments. It comes in a bright turquoise pump tube and light consistency absorbs quickly into the skin, leaving feeling soft and moisturised, and with a gentle pleasant natural scent lingering behind.
The Antioxidant Hydrating Mist is a hydrating mist to refresh, restore and tone the skin, also tightening the appearance of pores and restoring skin vitality. As the name suggests, It is loaded with antioxidants including vitamin E, gingo biloba, and Kakadu plum which are rich in vitamin C, as well as green tea and chamomile. The Hydrating mist can be used at any time when you feel your skin needs a boost of antioxidants and hydration, or when your face is hot or overheated from the sun on a hot day. I also found that it was perfect to use on top of your makeup for added hydration, or even as a type of setting mist, or to simply refresh during the day. Product Review: Neal’s Yard Remedies Frankincense Hydrating Facial Mist
Having a newborn baby, and a dog that just had surgery to remove cancer
from her leg and hence need to rest as much as possible for the wound to heal,
this winter I have so far been indoors a lot more than I otherwise would.
Normally I don’t have dry or sensitive skin, but I have to admit that

What I Say:
Having never before tried any products from Neal’s Yard
Remedies I decided to look into the brand, and discovered that it was
established over thirty years ago. The company started as an all-natural
apothecary, and was based in Neal’s Yard in a corner of Covent Garden in the
heart of London. Neal’s Yard Remedies has the largest certified organic range
of skin care products in the UK, and nearly every one of the products is handmade
in the company’s eco-factory in Dorset, England, using home grown and
sustainably sourced, certified organic ingredients. And now the products are
available in Australia too!
Neal’s Yard Frankincense Hydrating Facial Mist is 98% organic, and
contains organic herbal extracts of gotu kola, mahonia and calendula with pure
frankincense and neroli oils, which are to tone, refresh and rejuvenate. And of
course it is made without using synthetic fragrances, colours, parabens,
phthalates, propylene glycol, mineral oils, silicones, which I do like the
sound of.

The instructions says to shake well before use, and then close eyes and
lightly spritz over your skin, either before or after applying makeup. .JPG)
The first time I used it, I kept pumping and pumping the spray and
nothing came out, so I was starting to get a little disappointed, but suddenly
it worked. Big smile!
It has a spicy scent, which is a little too strong for my liking, but as
it is coming from the natural ingredients, it is still very nice and natural,
and it does fade once the mist has absorbed into the skin.
The Hydrating
Facial Mist comes in such lovely packaging with a two-toned purple box, and
inside reveals a simple but lovely apothecary style blue glass bottle with a silver pump. It is
definitely too nice to be put away in the bathroom cabinet.
Spraying the mist onto the face feels nice and refreshing, and it really
does leave the skin feeling soft and refreshed. It works brilliantly as a toner
after cleansing your face, but it is also fantastic as a hydrating spray to use
during the day over your makeup when your skin needs a pick-me-up and your
makeup needs to be revitalised. And when I have been out for a walk with my
dogs in the cold and I come home and my face is blushed from the cool winds, it
is fantastic to soothe skin, and I can only imagine that it will be just as
perfect come summer and the skin is a little dehydrated and needs to cool down
from being outside in the sun. 
Although the bottle
is small with just 45ml, at $20.95, I still find it reasonable priced
considering it is such a high quality product made from almost nothing but
natural organic ingredients. And besides, it is so concentrated that just 2-3
small sprays is more than sufficient, so the bottle will last you a while.
What I Like:
- The gorgeous packaging and the blue glass bottle
with the pump
- That it is made from 98% organic ingredients and
doesn’t contain chemical nasties including synthetic fragrances, colours, parabens,
phthalates, propylene glycol, mineral oils, or silicones.
- It is very
hydrating and feels soothing on the skin
- Multi-functional and can be used both as a
toner, a hydrating spritz during the day, and on top of makeup.
What I don’t like:
- The Spicy scent is a little too strong for my personal liking
All in all, this is a lovely hydrating spray and I will
certainly enjoy using it. As for repurchasing, I have already seen that there
is also a White Tea version available, so I will definitely be checking that
one out, thinking that the scent may be a little less spicy.
