PRODUCT REVIEW: POKEMON POWER ACTION PIKACHU

Pokémon… I remember them vividly, as the range of gameboy and Nintendo games that were launched in the late 90s. But since then, they’ve made a comeback, and now with toys available too, including the adorable Pokémon Power Action Pikachu.*

The Pokémon Power Action Pikachu is the most adorable soft and fluffy toy, yet it is interactive too, thanks to its Action Sensor Technology – which means you can squeeze Pikachu’s hands to interact with him; shake for Power Action; or throw to a friend!

Some of his key features are;

  • Pikachu has more than 15 different responses when his hand is being squeezing, tossed and tumbled, including ‘Pika’
  • Squeeze his hands for his talk to light up yellow, and his cheeks to turn red
  • Press his right hand and hear a trio of electric zapping sounds
  • Press his left hand for signature phrases in his adorable, high-pitched voice
  • He has 360 degree movement sensors that responds to interaction allowing you to shake to charge up, with different sounds depending on whether you give him one long shake, or several short shakes. If you shake him for long, it even sounds like he is getting dizzy.
  • When you play with him and send him into battle, he has different responses depending on if he lands with his face up, or unsuccessfully with his face down. His sensors will also react differently with different sounds and lighting effects.
  • He is soft and cuddly

This is such a cute toy for kids aged 3 years+. My 5year old is at the stage where he feels he is too old for teddies, but he has really taken to this Pokémon Power Action Pikachu, and thinks the endless responses, lights and sounds are so funny, and even more hilarious that he can actually throw a plush toy around and hear different responses depending on how he lands. And in the end of the day, when play (and battles!) are finished, he can snuggle up to him on the couch.

An absolutely adorable interactive plush toy that kids will have fun with, and as I mum, I also love that it encourages my two boys to play together by throwing Pikachu to each other.
