PRODUCT REVIEW: BIORE ONE MINUTE MASK, SKIN REPLUBLIC 24K GOLD AND PLATINUM PEEL-OFF MASKS AND BEAN BODY COFFEE CLAY MASK

Time for some much needed pampering and today I’m putting focus on a couple of budget friendly face masks that I’ve been loving lately.

First up is the Biore Self Heating One Minute Mask*, which works in just one minute. The mask contains natural charcoal and it heals up when it comes into contact with the damp skin, and thereby opens up the pores to help draw out excess sebum, oil and dirt for a cleaner and more purified skin. It has a nice cooling effect on the skin. It is easy to rinse off and afterwards leaves the skin feeling clear, soft and smooth, and I really do feel that regular use makes a difference to the amount of breakouts that I've been getting, keeping my skin clearer and less congested. It is recommended to use 2-3 time per week, or as needed. I do however think, that unless you’ve got very blemish prone and oily skin, that just once or trice is more than sufficient.

I love that this mask works in just one minute, so quick and easy when you’re in a hurry. Plus the single use packets are perfect too for trips away.

Then there’s the new peel off masks from Skin Republic. I’ve always loved peel off masks, as there is just something fun in peeling it off afterwards. And these two new masks, in Platinum and 24K are just next level looking so luxe and glamorous.

The
Skin Republic 24K Gold Peel-Off Anti-Ageing Face Mask* is a mask that applies like glittery gold, and it looks simply stunning. But the gold doesn’t just look amazing, it also has anti-ageing benefits, helping to give the skin a deep clean, while the age-defying niacinamide, minerals, plant extracts and fruit extracts help intensely nourish the skin and smoothe out fine lines and wrinkles. It also contains fruit acids to help give the skin a gentle exfoliation to reveal a brighter and more luminous complexion.

The
Skin Republic Platinum Peel-Off Anti-Oxidant Face Mask* contains platinum which has deep cleansing properties along with anti-ageing as the Platinum has an exceptionally high skin absorption rate, so that the particles chemically attach to active anti-ageing ingredients helping them to penetrate deeper into the skin yielding better youth-renewing results. It also contains niacinamide to help hydrate and nourish the skin, along five different Fruit Acids along with real diamond powder to help give the skin a gentle exfoliation, buffing away the dead skin cells for a skin that is not only silky soft, but also smoother, brighter and more luminous.

For both of these masks, you simply pop a layer onto clean dry skin, and leave it on for about 30 minutes to dry, before gently peeling it off. You can use then once or twice a week as required. And I really love that they come in a little sachet which you can reseal, and the fact that there is sufficient product for three goes in the pack. again, perfect product for a weekend away or a holiday.

I adore both of these masks, and they certainly help make face-masking a little more glamorous. Both versions are absolutely gorgeous and I really like both. I did initially think that the golden 24K Gold mask would be my favourite, simply as the anti-ageing tag make it appear more appropriate for my ageing skin, however, I actually feel that the extra fruit extracts in the Platinum one, helps make my skin even softer and give it even more glow.

Finally, there’s the newly launched Coffee Clay Mask from Bean Body*. You probably know Bean Body for their Coffee Body Scrubs, but now they have increased their product line to include a few facial skincare products as well. The Coffee Clay Mask is made with charcoal powder extract, bentonite and Kaolin clays to help lift oil, dirt and toxins from the skin while which hazel. Tea Tree Oil, Lavender Oil works as astrigents, and help tighten and tone the pores. The aloe vera adds nourishment and moisture to the skin while soothing it, and the coffee seed extract and its caffeine helps target pores and tired looking skin.

The mask is best used on dry clean skin, and you simply apply a generous layer onto your face, avoiding the sensitive eye area, leaving it on for about 15-30 minutes to dry, before rinsing it off. It, unfortunately, really only have a very slight coffee scent, with the dominant smell being the clay ingredients.

I feel this is a great mask for when you really want to give your skin a deep clean, as it really helps to unclog those pores, and eliminate breakouts, also thanks to containing salicylic which also helps give the skin a gentle exfoliation at the same time, and all without drying out the skin. It is certainly great for my combination breakout prone skin. After use, the skin is left soft and clean, and with a nice glow. I also love how this mask is free from nasties including parabens, sulphates, mineral oils and artificial fragrances.
