PRODUCT REVIEW // EYE OF HORUS EYE SHADOW PALETTE, GODDESS PENCIL AND GODDESS MASCARA FROM RY

One of those Australian beauty brands I really love is Eye of Horus. The products not only look amazing they truly are. I’ve put a couple of the best-selling products from Eye of Horus to the test thanks to RY..

The Eye of Horus product formulas are based on those of the Ancient Egyptians, the originators of beauty and mystique, with sacred ingredients including Organic Moringa Oil “Oil of the Pharaohs”, claimed by the gods for its beautifying and regenerating powers and the ancient oil of Castor Oil, and they are cruelty free too. The makeup range is designed 'awaken the goddess within’, and it takes inspiration from the ancient Egyptians who wore eye makeup because they believed that it offered magical power and protection to the wearer. They lined their eyes with black Kohl, creating an almond-shaped eye - The Eye of Horus - which was believed to protect their eyes as well as providing a statement of beauty.

Let’s start with the Eye Of Horus Luminous Sheba Mystical Eye Shadow Palette. This palette contains three Italian baked eye shadows, in satin metallic shades, which include;
  • Artifact - Creamy Beige Metallic (light)
  • Enchantress Peach Matte (medium)
  • Royal Abyss Rich Deep Purple Metallic (dark)

These shades are designed to be deep and mystical and reflect the moon and sun. The shades are just lovely, and the combination of the three is just lovely and so balanced with the pale pale beige, medium peach and dark rich berry-plum shade.

The shades are quite pigmented, and they are so silky soft and very quick and easy to apply and blend within minimum fallout, as well as they are long- wearing, staying put all day without fading or settling into fine lines, even on my greasy eyelids.

I also love that you can use the either wet or dry - dry will give you a more subtle look suitable for casual day-time looks, while using the eye shadows wet, will give you a more intense and dramatic look that’s perfect for nighttime. But again, as they are so pigmented, I actually find them sufficiently intense when using dry.

The palette comes in a little cardboard palette with an internal mirror and a gorgeous golden Egyptian ‘cat god’ on the outside. It doesn’t come with an applicator, but personally I really don’t mind, always preferring to use my own anyway.

Then there’s the Eye of Horus Award Winning Pack, which contains the ; brand's best-selling pencil and mascara that allow you to create show-stopping eye makeup looks, including the Smokey Black Goddess Pencil and the Goddess Mascara in Black.

The Eye of Horus Goddess Pencil is a very pigmented eyeliner. It is infused with Beeswax, Carnauba Wax and Organic Moringa Oil, giving it a super soft and creamy formula, which also makes it so easy to apply without dragging or pulling at the sensitive eye area.

I tried the shade Bronze Amulet, which is a gorgeous metallic dark brown shade, which is perfect for every day wear, and personally I much prefer to use a dark brown shade like this over a black, as it is not as harsh looking for daily wear. I love that it has a 'smudger' in the other end of the pencil, as it makes it so easy to create a smoky look. And I also love that it is waterproof formula, so it stays put all day, without fading or smudging, even on my sensitive eyes that often water, yet it removes easily at nigh with a waterproof makeup remover.

Finally, there’s the Eye of Horus Goddess Mascara in Black. This mascara is designed to add volume and length to the lashes, while strengthening them thanks to the added Organic Moringa Oil. It is easy to apply with the large flexible silicone brush that makes it easy to coat even the finest of hair, and with out any clumps, rather it nicely separates the lashes and gives them nice definition. And adding a few extra coats and you can achieve a quite dramatic look. I love that this again is smudge proof, so it stays put all day, without smearing or smudging, even surviving getting caught in the rain!! No wonder his is an award winning mascara as it really is great, and I love that it not only gives my lashes such a great look, but it cares for them at the same time.

These products really are amazing, the quality is premium and I find the prices very reasonable. If you haven’t tried any of the products from Eye of Horus, I highly suggest you to, you won’t regret it.
