XMAS GIFT IDEAS - BOOKS FOR KIDS

I've always loved when my kids are getting books in their presents. It’s a present that keeps giving as we read them together again and again. So for Xmas I've got some book gift ideas for the little ones in your life..

For the 2-5 year olds, you can't go past he Twirlywoos. They are one of the more recent kids series on ABC kids TV, and they feature the adorable antics of four, fruit tea-loving birdlike characters: Greg BigHoo, Toodloo, Chickedy and Chick.

What I really like is that they have been in close collaboration with an early year's specialist so that TV episodes and books explore different age appropriate concepts such as 'over' underneath' and 'through' as well as they learn about the concepts of size, being too big or too small, hiding, disappearing and reappearing. - and all in a comical and colourful way that little kids will love.

The Twirlywoos Little Library contains four cute little board books in a slip case,
and the thickness of the pages and the small size of the books means that they are easy to handle for little hands.

Oh, and why not include a Twirlywoo soft toy, to make an even more adorable gift. These plush are so adorable, and perfect for all fans, and they have the perfect size for little hands. They are of course available in all four characters, and are so soft that your little one will fall in love with them immediately.

For the 0-4 year olds you can't go past the Picabooki Who's In The Jungle which is a personalised story book that anyone can create. It is easy to create online by uploading images, as well as you can also personalise messages in the book.

The actual book has gorgeous and cute illustrations made by the children's animator Aaron Powel (who has also previously worked with the likes of Peppa Pig). In story, you can lift flaps and reveal familiar faces alongside heaps of different animals as you make your way though the jungle. A very adorable and very personal book that any little kid will love to read again and again.

For the 2-8 year olds, there's the Busy Izzy Book series, which features the 12 year old girl, Busy Izzy and her diverse group of friends, and through their stories they encourage friendliness, co-operation, generosity and a healthy lifestyle. The books are created and written by renowned celebrity vocal coach Roxanne Kiely, and also features healthy recipes, catchy sing-a-long songs and music (one of the books comes with a CD with five sing-along songs).

The books has funny and cute drawings throughout that my boys, especially the older 3.5 year old has fallen for, and as a mum, I love the fact that the books are endorsed by the Literacy Foundation, as well as they have been praised by Bec Hewitt and her family.
