PRODUCT REVIEW: SISLEY PARIS PHYTO 4 OMBRES

Products from Sisley Paris are relatively new to me, but what I’ve tried from the brand so far, has been absolutely amazing, so when I was offered to trial the newly launched Sisley Paris Phyto 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Quad, I happily accepted. Here are my thoughts;

What They Say:

Phyto 4 Ombres is an eye shadow quartet to express color to suit your mood and create bespoke looks. The high-tech skincare formula is enriched with plant-based active ingredients (Green Tea, White Lily, Camellia) and protects the delicate skin of the eyelids. Available in Dream (featuring nude shades), and Mystery (featuring smoky tones)

RRP: $110 – Available from David Jones

What I Say:
I have to admit that I am a little conservative when it comes to my eye makeup, and I mainly reach for neutral, nude and brown shades, so the Phyto 4 Ombres in the shade ‘Dream’ didn’t fail to disappoint me.

The compact contains four eyeshadows in the shape of an ‘S’, with each of the eye shadows having a lovely pattern – so pretty that I almost couldn’t bring myself to use it and ‘ruin’ it!

The four shades in the compact includes;

  • Silk Rose – a delicate and iridescent pink
  • Velvet Brown – a sparkling chocolate brown
  • Satin Copper – a golden brown with intense reflection
  • Pearl Beige – a frosty and hypnotic pale beige

The eye shadows perfectly complement each other, and can be used both on their own, or combined in endless combinations from a natural daytime look to a to more intense look for night, thanks to the various finishes which includes metallic, satin, and matte. The lighter shades works perfectly for highlighting and creating a more ‘awake’ look, while the darker shades, are perfect for lining the eye and creating a smoky effect.

The eye shadows contain micronized pigments and mother-of-pearl, which not only makes them very pigmented, but also gives them just the right amount of sheen. They are made from a unique gel-powder formula that feels buttery soft and smooth and is so easy to apply, either with your fingers, or with the included sponge – while I did not find that a standard eyeshadow brush (which I otherwise prefer), successfully picked up sufficient eyeshadow. When you’ve applied them, the eye shadows almost look wet, but that’s just thanks to the innovative formula, as they do perform like any other powder eye shadow.

With combination skin, often I have the problem that eyeshadows starts to ‘slide off’ by the middle of the day, and also starts to settle into fine lines or the folds of my eyelids. However, with the Phyto 4 Ombres, that was not the case at all. The eye shadows are so long-lasting that looks as good at night when I take off my makeup at night, as it did when I applied it in the morning.

The Sisley Phyto 4 Ombres eye shadow compact comes in a compact that closes securely thanks to a magnet, and it has a stunning and modern black and white checked pattern on the top. Inside it also has a large mirror and the special sponge applicator that works beautifully with the gel-powder texture.

Overall I am so in love with this eye shadow compact, and once I actually resisted the urge to use it, I haven’t used anything else! The compact is so versatile as it simply contains everything I need for a simple neutral daytime look, as well as I can easily build up the darker shades for a more intense look. If you too love neutral toned eye shadows, then I highly recommend that you check out this Phyto 4 Ombres, you won’t be disappointed.
