What I Say:

So this new collection of nude shades of lipsticks and nail polishes has been picked and named by five of the famous L’oreal ambassadors – and as they have different skintones, the collection has consequently also resulted in a range of very different shades, so there should be a shade for every skintone and preference.

The collection features:

L-R: Doutzen, Julianne, JLo, Frieda, Eva

The Doutzen Nude

Hint of Pink. The Doutzen Nude is a combination of freshness and femininity, with a sprinkling of softness. The way this barely pink nuance melts into any type of complexion gives it indispensable elegance. The shade is a cool toned sheer pink.

The Eva Nude

Peach Skin. With a mix of gold tints and ebony elegance, this striking colour combination adds a fashionable edge to every look, plus brings a radiant glow and sun-kissed effect to all skin types. It is a slightly dark with a peach undertone.

The Julianne Nude

Rosewood Beige. Sensual and delicate to the extreme, The Julianne Nude enhances the radiance of pale complexions and endows them with elegance and sophistication. This is a warm pinkish shade.

The Freida Nude

Mauve Tint. The Freida Nude is perfect for emphasising the delicacy and elegance of the amber complexion. The ultimate in refinement, this shade evokes a freshness as well as sheer sophistication. This is a quite mauve, yet warm shade.

The JLo Nude

Glow. Ultra-chic and rich in iridescence, Greige Glow offers a discreet contrast to the skin, thereby enhancing the natural beauty of the complexion. Also a mauve shade, but with a peachy undertone.

If you know the Colour Riche lipsticks and the Le Vernis Nail polishes, you’ll know that the lipsticks are some of the most beautifully intense colours that feel so lovely and moisturising on the lips and the nail polishes have an inbuilt top-coat that makes application not only quicker, but the result also shiny and lasting.

So with a medium beige skin tone and mid-brown hair, my perfect lip shade should be the Julianne nude, and I also have to say that it is a beautiful shade –but in all honestly, so are they all, so I do find it very difficult to pick a favourite, and they have all become favourites during the past month that I’ve been trialling them. Before applying them, my least favourite would have to be Doutzen’s nude, as it is a soft baby pink, but even that is so lovely on the lips with its barely there pink shade.

L-R: Doutzen, Julianne, JLo, Frieda, Eva

As for the nails, these shades are slightly different and doesn’t completely match the lip shades, but they of course complement. Again, Julianne’s nude does compliment my skin tone very well, but here I also love Doutzen’s nude as it is again a barely there pink, also perfect to use as a French polish, which I often do. The other colours from JLo, Frieda and Eva are also a lot darker and more brown’ish shaded, with the JLo shade being taupe, Frieda’s mid-brown and Eva’s a dark chocolate brown. Again, all beautiful colours that you can only love, and that will be perfect as we (sadly) head towards autumn!

The nail polishes come in their ‘usual’ small’ squarish bottles, while the lipsticks come in a gorgeous matte black packaging with the spoke person’s signature featured in gold. Very stunning and luxe looking at the same time.

All in all this is a very beautiful collection and it will certainly help you find the perfect nude shade that compliments your skin tone – that is, if you can resist buying more than one!!
