Product Review: The Jojoba Company Pure Australian Golden Jojoba

My little boy is now over 5 months old, but while I was pregnant I realised that my skincare needs were different. Not only did I do my best to avoid chemicals, I also felt my skin was changing, and consequently I used different products than I otherwise would. Today I’d like to share with you a product that I have previously reviewed (you can see my review here), but which I found renewed use for during my pregnancy.

What They Say:

"Jojoba nourishes and moisturises your skin, hair and nails. Powerful natural moisturiser, wrinkle smoother, anti-aging, soothes the appearance of skin, hair, scalp, hand and cuticle conditioner."

RRP: 30ml/85ml/100ml/200ml - $19.95/$29.95/$29.95/$39.95 – Available from selected health food stores and chemists

What I Say:

The Jojoba oil from the Jojoba Company is Australian made from 100% Natural Australian Jojoba, and it contains no harmful detergents, chemicals, parabens, artificial fragrances, colours, PEGs, mineral oils, sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS), or animal products. It is a versatile oil that can be used to moisturise and nourish ageing skin. It can be used as a massage oil, to remove make-up, to relieve and heal rashes and to condition hair, scalp, hands and cuticles.

I really like that this Jojoba Oil is so versatile, and can be used all over the body, including décolletage, nails and cuticles, in the hair, and as makeup remover, all of which I discussed in my last review.

Since then, I have found a few more uses for the magic oil…

Belly

My tummy was so itchy while I was pregnant, and nothing could stop it. Guess it was just natural with the skin stretching. The one thing that could give me some relief was slashing on some moisture several times a day. As the Jojoba oil takes a little while to absorb into the skin, I was using the oil at night before going to bed, to stop myself from scratching myself to bits while sleeping. And it helped! I also got through my pregnancy without a stretchmark, while I as using several different products, the Jojoba Oil has possibly also had something to do with that.

Legs

The one place on my body where I suffer from dry skin is my shins, so I have been using the Jojoba Oil straight after my shower, and in no time, my skin is feeling and looking so much better.

Feet

As my belly grew, it got harder and harder to reach my feet to give them moisture and apply nail polish. So when I did give them a little TLC, I wanted to give them some intense moisture that would last, and consequently used some Jojoba Oil at night time, massaging it into my feet, including nails and cuticles, and followed with a pair of old socks. And next morning I woke to amazingly soft feet. I used to do this a few times a week, and it kept my otherwise dry feet under control. But I have somehow stopped doing this after I gave birth, and now that summer is upon us, and while my issue is no longer not being able to reach my feet, but rather find the time to pamper my feet, I really must take this on again!

This jojoba oil has a nice fresh scent and comes in a tall plastic bottle with a pump dispenser, which makes it easy to get just the amount of oil needed. The smaller versions of the oil come in a small frosted glass bottle, and while this looks more luxurious, I do prefer the plastic bottle, finding it more convenient to use in the bathroom, without fear of dropping it.

What I Like:
  • Very versatile, and can be used on anything from skin, body, hands, nails, feet, hair and as a makeup remover
  • Very concentrated
  • Well priced
  • Nice scent

What I Don’t Like:
  • Unfortunately a little to greasy to use on my blemish prone combination skin

So there you go, a few more uses for this amazing versatile Jojoba Oil, and as I’ve said before this Jojoba oil is truly an essential multi-tasker that should be kept in every bathroom!

It is well priced from $19.95 for a 30ml bottle to $39.95 for a large 200ml bottle, and it is very concentrated so even the smallest bottle will last you a long time – and with so many uses you’ll regret not getting a big one from the start!
