Product Review: Palmolive Ayurituel Tranquility Shower Gel

I love shower gels, and usually have quite a few on the go at the same time, so I can swap and switch depending on my mood in the morning. I am no strange to the Palmolive shower gels, and I usually have at least one of them on my shower shelf, as you can always trust the quality and that they are gentle on the skin. Here are my thoughts on the newly launched *Palmolive Ayurituel Tranquility Shower Gel;

What They Say:
Palmolive Ayurituel Tranquility Body Wash is one of three body washes in the Palmolive Ayurituel range, inspired by the ancient Indian Ayuverdic tradition. It is infused with a relaxing woody, oriental scent, paired with rosemary and patchouli. The body wash is formulated with a combination of mild cleansers to leave the skin clean and moisturised; it is presented in a versatile bottle with a gold flip-top lid.

RRP: $6.79 (400ml) – Available from Priceline, supermarkets and select pharmacies.

What I Say:
The first thing I noticed about the new Ayurituel shower gels was the newly designed bottles. Usually Palmolive shower gels come in chunkier bottles, while the new ones come in a more sleek slimline and slightly taller bottle, in spite of containing the same amount of shower gel. And I have to say that I do like the new design, and find it a lot smarter. The only thing I would like (and the same goes for the chunkier bottles), is the ability for the shower gel to stand on its head/lid when you are getting to the bottom of the product, so that you can use up every last bit, but unfortunately that is quite tricky for both bottle designs due to the rounded lid at the top of the bottle.

There are three different scents in the new Ayurituel shower gel range; Joyous, Energy and Tranquility.

The Ayurituel Tranquility Shower Gel has a slightly masculine woody scent and oriental scent, from the included Rosemary and Patchouli fragrances. These fragrances are intended to help you ‘relax and unwind making you feel peaceful and utterly serene.’

In spite of being a bit woody and masculine, I feel that it is still a unisex scent, and I quite like it, and find it a refreshing change from the often very girly floral scents of shower gels. And hubby has really taken a liking to it too.

The actual shower gel has a nice bright green colour, and it easily froths up into a nice soft foam – and even more so if a loofah is being used. And the gorgeous scent spreads through the shower and bathroom, and also lingers on the skin, even after you’ve dried off after the shower.

In spite of being perfumed, it doesn’t dry out the skin – rather it is left soft and moisturised, although I still feel I need to follow with a body moisturiser (which I always do, regardless of the shower gel I use!)

In regards the scent helping me to relax and unwind, I am not so sure, but as both hubby and I really like the scent and the performance of the shower gel, that is really all that matters.

All in all this is a great shower gel that comes at a great price too. I will definitely be looking into trying the other two varieties too!
