Product Review and NOTD: Nicole By OPI Selena Gomez Collection in Selena

A little while ago I told you about Nicole by OPI launching Selena Gomez Collection, which includes 14 shades of lacquers inspired by actress & singer. The colour palette carefully selected captures her sweet yet spunky personality, from soft pink and peach hues to bright glitter and confetti lacquers. As I have previously admitted, I honest and admit that I don’t really know that much about Selena, but as I am a big fan of the Nicole by OPI nail polishes, I was excited when I was asked to trial one of the new shades. Here are my thoughts on the *Nicole By OPI Selena Gomez Collection in Selena;

What They Say:

Nicole by OPI contains no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde and has a custom designed 'Perfect Stroke' brush for the most precise application.

RRP: $14.95 – Available from selected pharmacies, Hairhouse Warehouse, Petra Haircare and from Nicole by OPI Online

What I Say:

It is not a secret that I love the OPI nail polishes, as you can always rely on the best quality and a fabulous colour range. I also recently reviewed the Nicole by OPI Selena Gomez in colour Scarlet, and absolutely loved both the polish andthe colour.
And now that I am pregnant, I am more concerned than ever about the ingredients in products, so I am very pleased knowing that the nail polishes are also 3-Free, that is that they do not contain the harmful chemical ingredients DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde.

Nicole By OPI Selena Gomez Collection in Selena is a peachy pink with a tiny bit of shimmer  but it is so little that you can really only see it in direct sunlight. It is such a gorgeous and shade, - a spring and summer shade really that will look fantastic with a touch of a summer tan, but just as perfect for brightening up a dark autumn or winter outfit.

As all OPI nail polishes, it has a nice formula, which is so easy to apply – and thanks so the wide brush, just a few quick brushstrokes and the nail is covered. The nail polish covers nice and evenly, without any visible brush strokes. The nail polish covers so well, and while two coats are needed to really show off the colour, you can still see a bit of the white tip of the nail, so for a solid coverage I could imagine that three coats would be required. In this picture I am wearing two coats.

The nail polish dries very quickly too, which I really like, and I love the fact that it unlike other nail polishes doesn’t have a strong smell either – no doubt due to being free from DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde.

The nail polish lasts quite well, about 4 days before it started to chip at the edges, and that is in spite of having two dogs and consequently washing my hands countless of times during the day, as well as tapping away on the computer keyboard, which undoubtedly also reduces the wear of the nail polish. The nail polish quick and easy to remove with an acetone-free nail polish remover.

All in all, I have just confirmed again that the Nicole by OPI nail polishes really are of such fantastic quality, and absolutely worth their price tag. And I love this peachy pink, it is very stunning and very girly colour.
