Product Review: Dr. LeWinn’s Skin Perfect Anti-Ageing Illuminiser

It has taken a lot of years, but I have finally realised that using an illuminiser makes a huge difference to your look. In the past I can honestly admit that I have happily skipped using an illuminiser, as I have simply felt that they have made my combination skin look like a disco ball and even greasier thank normal, and not to mention highlighting beginning lines and wrinkles making me look and feel even older! But I have previously trialled the Dr. LeWinn’s Anti-Ageing Foundation and Anti-Ageing Primer, products targeted at ageing skin, and I absolutely loved both, so when I was asked to trial the *Dr. LeWinn’s Skin Perfect Anti-Ageing Illuminiser, I happily accepted. Here are my thoughts;

What They Say:
"A lightweight liquid illuminiser that instantly gives kin that ‘lit from within’ glow. Can be used to highlight key areas on the face or blended into foundation for an all-over luminosity. The sublime formulation leaves skin looking radiant and glowing with good health".

RRP: $24.95 (20ml) – Available from Priceline and select pharmacies

What I Say:
The Dr. LeWinn’s Skin Perfect Foundation has been developed to be both a foundation and anti-ageing solution that is actively helping to improve the condition of the skin while also acting as a Illuminiser.

Like the anti-ageing foundation and the primer from Dr. LeWinn’s, the Anti-ageing Illuminiser contains protective and stimulating Rose Stem Cells, Pro Collagen Peptide and energising mineral Tourmaline to enable skin renewal, visibly reduce wrinkles and pores, improve firmness and elasticity, leaving skin moisturised and protected.

I love skin which glows, as to me, glowing radiant skin is more youthful-looking skin, but often I find that illuminisers add too much sparkle, which makes me feel like a disco queen and not to mention too old to wear too!

But and as soon as I applied the Illuminiser, I was instantly impressed. This illuminiser is a lightweight liquid, which instantly gives skin a natural and healthy glow. It has soft light reflecting particles that soften fine lines and add subtle glow and radiance without being glittery or shimmery, and the cream-based formula ensures it easily blends into or onto all the other products in the range.

The illuminiser is so easy to apply and blend, and if you like, the sheen can be built up slightly by adding more of the illuminiser.

I have been applying a little to the high points of the cheeks, nose and brow, on top of my usual foundation and it has increased radiance glow of my skin. Instant glow. Almost as if I’ve have just had 10 hours of beauty sleep. I’m impressed!

I have also tried to blend a little of the illuminiser into the foundation, so easy, and perfect for adding to foundation to brighten dull skin.

The Illuminiser comes in a cute little tube with a pointy nozzle that makes it possible to squeeze out the tiniest dab of illuminiser at a time – just the right amount for a quick swipe across the cheekbones, without wasting any product.

The Skin Perfect Illuminiser has a lovely slightly floral scent, which is however very subtle, and which disappears almost immediately after application.

And the illuminiser is only $24.95, and because only use a dot is needed at a time the tube should last quite a long time.
All in all, it is a fantastic illuminiser that for me ticks all the boxes, and I really like the inclusion of anti-ageing ingredients, knowing that my makeup is also caring for my ageing skin.

Have you tried any of the anti-ageing makeup products from Dr. Lewinn’s? Do you use an illuminiser? Which one is your favourite?

  1. Illuminizers I find are not noticeable as you`re applying them, but when in the light or with pictures, they make a world of difference.
