PRODUCT REVIEW: PATCH BAMBOO ADHESIVE STRIPS - A NATURAL APPROACH TO WOUND CARE

Unfortunately the boys in my family, including both my husband and my two little boys have very sensitive skin. That means a lot of skin irritations, and being cautious about the product you use on their skin. And the same goes for adhesive strips, such as band aids, and they can all only wear them for a few hours, and they are sure to get an allergic reaction of a red rash that takes a few days to pass. And that’s where the Patch Bamboo Adhesive Strips comes into play…

These clever breathable patches are made from certified bamboo fibres along wit hypo-allergenic pressure sensitive adhesive, along with organic bamboo gauze. The Patch adhesive strips are also free from Thimerosal, Merthiolate and latex, and they are simply so gentle that they are suitable for even the most sensitive of skin, including little kids’. Perfect when you’ve got two clumsy little kids, bound to get cuts and scratches on knees etc.

There are several Patch varieties available including;

  • Patch Natural - the standard version, which is a pale skin tone in colour
  • Patch Aloe Vera - which has the added benefit of soothing blisters, cuts, and minor abrasions. Nude/skintone colour
  • Patch Activated Charcoal - which is has activated bamboo charcoal gauze that helps draw out impurities, reduce redness and repair minor abrasions. These strips are black in colour.
  • Patch Coconut Oil Kids - which are enriched with coconut oil to help gently repair minor grazes, cuts and bruises. They have the cutest black and white little pandas printed all over the white strip

I really love the idea of these, and also that they have been enriched with ie. charcoal , aloe vera and coconut oil to help care for your cuts and wounds in a more natural way, and speed up healing in such a natural way. And I of course love the fact that they are natural and so gentle so that especially my little boys, along with a bruises and cuts that sometimes sting and hurt, they don't also have to suffer with the aftereffects of wearing a standard adhesive strip, a red irritated rash.

Also worth mentioning is that the Australian The Patch Adhesive Strips come in cute little round recyclable cardboard tubes, and the products are made with a manufacturing process that is sustainable, as are the materials and the carbon footprint.

They naturally do come at a higher cost than your standard, off the shelf, adhesive strips, but when you have sensitive skin, they are worth every scent.
