PRODUCT REVIEW: MODELROCK LIQUID TO MATTE LIPSTICKS

I have to be open and admit that I am not one for using false eyelashes, but even so, I've heard of ModelRock lashes. Who hasn't! But have heard that they also have a range of Lipsticks? I had no idea.. Today I'm going to put a selection of the ModelRock Liquid to Matte Lipsticks to the test.

The ModelRock Liquid to Matte claims to be Long-wearing, ultra lightweight liquid to matte lipstick that will last for hours.

There are seven shades in the range, and as also promised, these are extremely highly-pigmented so it just takes one swipe for a fully saturated and bold look.

The lipsticks are very light and feel almost weightless on the lips, and they take a moment to dry and set, but once thy do you're left with bold statement lips with a soft velvety look and feel. They also have a very good wear, and without drinking or eating, they stay put for about 4-5 hours.

They claim to add hydration to the lips, and do also feel lovely on the lips, and not like many other matte lipsticks that seems to dry out the lips ad make them feel very uncomfortable. However, as they are matte, they can make your lips look dry (even thought they might not be!), but I've found that using a clear lip balm just before, and let that absorb into my lips first, before applying them, makes a huge different. Or alternatively, you can of course also add a clear lipgloss on top for a more glam look.

There are seven colours in the range, and I put the following shades to the test;

Rose Rush - a dusty rose/mauve
Major Betsy - a classic red shade
Vampirella - a dark red shade

The Rose Rush shade is the lightest of the three, and probably the shade most subtle and suitable for everyday look, but I also really love Major Betsy, as it is such a gorgeous bright and classic shade. That's not to say that Vampirella is not a lovely shade, as it is, but the darker shade, makes it, well, a little more 'vampy' so definitely, - or at least for me, a better shade for a night out.

I am not usually fond of matte lipsticks as I often find them uncomfortable to wear, but overall I really love these ModelRock Liquid to Matte Lipsticks, as they've really managed to nail it, providing a matte look that lasts, while feeling lovely on the lips too, so I certainly wouldn't mind checking out the rest of the range too.
