PRODUCT REVIEW: GINA BY GINA LIANO EAU DE PARFUM

Perfumes are being launched faster than you can keep up, and now Gina Liano is joining the ranks of celebrities launching their own scent, Gina by Gina Liano. The new fragrance was officially launched on Sunday evening, and I was so lucky to be invited to the event, but sadly a sick baby meant that I was unable to attend. Still I was so lucky as to receive one of the new fragrances for review. Here are my thoughts; 

Now, firstly, who is Gina Liano... She is a criminal barrister and single mother of two boys, who recently participated in the Foxtel series ‘Real Housewives of Melbourne’. Now, with two small kids, I rarely watch any TV these days, so found it pointless and a waste of money to have Foxtel these days, but that doesn't mean I haven't heard about her, I have as she also appeared on a season of Celebrity Aprentive, which I did catch a very few glimpses of. And I have to say that she did come across as loud and too made up, but obviously she is a very smart business woman, as she does have a growing empire of shoes and jewellery, and now also a fragrance.

It contains the following notes;  

• Top Notes: Mandarin and bergamot
• Middle Notes: Jasmine, geranium, violet, rose, black pepper, nutmeg, cinnamon, muguet  
• Base Notes: Vanilla, amber, musk and sandalwood. 

Strangely enough, unlike Gina's known loud personality, this Gina by Gina Liano Eau de Parfum is a very light and fresh scent. And as a lover of citrusy scents, the mere inclusion of mandarin and bergamot notes means that I am sold!! Yet, it also has a feminine floral element from the jasmine, violet and rose, while the pepper, nutmeg and cinnamon add a different spicy backdrop while musk, sandalwood and amber adds warmth. I am not usually a fan of too musky or woody scents, but luckily it is still very subtle, and I'd still classify it as a light.

  

As many lighter scents, the staying power isn't the greatest, but that said, it is still vaguely there after 4-5 hours, which I think could be a bit longer seeing it's an eau de Parfum. 

  

The scent comes in a simple black box, and the actual bottle is also very simple, yet very stylish with its square design and rose-gold lid.

  

Overall it is a lovely fresh fragrance, and it is very well priced too at just $39.99 for a huge bottle.
